dealing with the same issues... sort of. When I upload it takes two days and slows down all internet functions. glad to see you're back. You inspired me to rebuild a 100 year old saddle (though, with 10,000 other projects going it's slow and unsteady). A holster was the first leatherwork I ever made back in 1962. Thanks for the vids.
I just found this channel and subscribed immediately. I’m new to leather crafting, starting about a year and a half ago (mostly holsters and rifle slings), and I’m trying to watch and learn from as many people as I can. As a result I’ve watched 100’s of videos and love seeing true craftsman and artists. There are only a few I’d put in that category and you sir are definitely on that list. Thank you for sharing your gift and knowledge.
Awesome tutorial. Great craftsmanship. Was nice to see someone take their time and show when it's done it's done. Thanx so much for sharing and blessings on you and yours. As ever just Tom 🤠
I've got a whole new outlook on the crafting of a fine leather holster and for the one's I own. I always sort of taken a hand made holster for granted. Not anymore!
Wonderful work, as always. Do you ever make lined holsters? I would love to see an in depth video of your tooling techniques. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Great video. Please answer a question for me. I have a holster for a cap lock remover that is very tight. It’s fairly thin leather in a black finish. Slim Jim style. How can I give the revolver a looser fit. Thanks for any advice.
You could try soaking the holster with some water, then putting the gun in a plastic bag and jamming it into the holster, wiggling it as you go. When its jammed all the way in, just leave it overnight and take the gun out of the bag and try it re-holstering it. It all depends on wether bthe finish on the holster is too waterproof.
I think you have an art background. Would be interested to know how you became interested in leather work and the old west. Do you ride, as well as making saddles? Thx
Good old leather tooling...I understood most of what and why you did certain things, but a little oral explanation would have been great, especially for someone w/o leatherworking knowledge...
Glad to watch your skills again! 😀👍, Thank you. How thick is that leather! 😳.. wow is that the usual thickness needed? Ps. Looking forward to when your editing is finnished 😊
It's pretty heavy, skirting leather 13 to 15 oz and cut from the butt so it's extremely stiff and has almost no stretch. I use it because it's what I buy for saddles and it never hurts to have a stout holster. A single action pistol is a heavy piece of hardware.
@@agarfrance9272 The Schofield sure is heavy, awkward fit too, won't sit right in my Mexican two loop. Yours looks ideal. I envy your skill and craftsmanship.

I have two questions. 1. Your tan kote looks more like neats foot oil. My tan kote looks creamy and thicker. 2. What part of the world are you located?
Well it’s just regular Tan Kote, I’ve bought it from a number of different places in Canada and the US and as far as I can tell it’s always the same. I’m located in Canada.
Glad to see I haven’t lost everyone. I have a ton of footage from the last while, just haven’t gotten around to the editing...

I think the feeling is mutual. Very glad you’re still here as well. I don’t envy the editing process, but not to worry, I’ll still be here.

Always a joy to watch your craft! The sounds of the leather and the tools.
Great to see you back again. It's been too long.
Glad you're back, fine work.
I like the simplicity of this pattern. It lends to using the holster in the classic quick draw style. Great content. Glad you choose to share!

Dude.....That holster turned out fantastic!!!
Incredible beauty! Masterpiece!!!
You honestly had me worried you weren't doing more holster videos. But It's great to see a new one, especially done with a Schofield!

Your gun seem to have some worn out look
It’s a non-firing replica
