Certainly something to watch for in the future, but as I'm just starting out I'll be sticking to transfer printing for the foreseeable. I'd certainly be interested if the price was agreeable, but I'm just wondering how much of that powder will need to be stored in order to have enough to last a couple of months.
+Dug's Den I'll be looking intothis and will report after further tests but sublimation inks are very dear compared to the inks I am using. Cheers Martin
You said the paper was twice as dear at the moment and you mention the sub inks costs are ten fold compared to the third party inks you use in the Epson, to me this wouldn't seem very cost effective for the average home user unless there is an added benefit to sub inks v third party dye inks. I guess only trial and error and time will tell. Thanks for the vid, very informative.
+TheMrBarso This is true as sublimation inks are very dear but if you had an intricate design that you would struggle to cut and weed out, this could be an option. You'd save on time having to create the cut lines and cut the image out on a cutter. I also had another person tell me that they made 800 mousemats on one set of sublimation inks in their Ricoh printer so these Ricohs are very good on ink as well. It's worth investigating though. Cheers Martin
Your videos are very informative Martin, would you say stay away from sublimation altogether and how do you get your transfers lined up perfectly if you don't measure the transfer up to the garment? Cheers, Baz
Yes, I didn't use sublimation on t shirts as it was too expensive and you can't sublimate on 100% cotton t shirts. I have a video on how I place the transfers on.
To protect your equipment ,your supposed to use non wax butcher paper for the top & bottom. Also between the shirt not inking the back. I don't know if you do know . Just suggesting. Thank You for the new technique
Great videos mate. I wonder if this stuff would work on wood or porous stone coasters. The problem is I would like to experiment with this stuff but the smallest amount I can see to buy is 100 sheets I'd only need some samples. keep up the good work.
Hello martin, once again thank you for sharing the info great work congratulations first attempt.. Question do I need two printers with two different inks to print on mugs and Tshirts.? Greetings from me in USA
that is cool because now you can buy a epson 1430 and use sublimation inks in it and now print on cotton...damnnnn sublimation stepped its game up for sure....
Oh Man.. That looks awful. Do you have any experience with ChromaBlast products? And thank you very much for the answer Martin! Your vids are really cool and useful!
Hi me name is Lorraine and I'm looking to know if that t-shirt paper and polyamide powder works with a sawgrass printer.. I don't want to purchase them two items on till I know that it works with sawgrass printer... thanks Lorraine.
Thanks for your reply, if I have one more question for Ricoh printers (serie SG3110,2100...with dye subl.tinte, color that is sold with a printer on ebay or need a special ink for cotton), whether it be a special setting for cotton or just comes to powder and paper?I need a printer for sublimation of cotton, but do not know because I heard from extra settings....thanks
I do not use sublimation for t shirt printing, I tested this sublitocotton product but after a few washes, it lost quality so I don't recommend it. Cheers Martin
HI Martin, love the vids mate. I use an Epson 1500w for sublimation with a ciss kit. Would you say that the Rioch is better? I only ask because of your above comment about you only using your Epson for transfers. Thanks
MsKingRTR I've had about 6 Epson printers over the years for sublimation and all had problems with head and nozzle blockages and they waste so much ink in the maintenance cycles. This is why I use the Ricoh printers with the subli jet R sublimation inks. I have never had any issues and the cartridges last for ages. Cheers Martin
APPOID I don't use sublimation ink on T shirts as it is very dear. This was a test on the t shirt with sublimation ink. I only use sublimation on Mugs only and these cartridges last very well as the images are only small. If you check out my other videos, you'll see I've many vids on what I do so you could have made an informed comment instead of judging on just one video. Thanks Martin

Could you please suggest something. Cheers !!
Not at all, I have used dye based inks for my transfer printing for 11 years. If you check out my other t shirt videos, you will see I provide proof that dye inks are fine. I am curious Martin, I wander what the difference is between the powder used here and plastisol powder?
i use the heat gun, heating the paper with polimer before i put it on T-Shirt. Allows me to make corrections of positioning without leaving stains.
+Nejamedia Robert Reich Nice tip. Thanks for sharing.

Martin Butler how so? Just watched your video. So it turned out that sublimation on cotton is still a no?
Check out this vid ua-cam.com/video/ywSR9W60BKM/v-deo.htmlm24s to see why.

This powder fades very quickly
How does it hold up with a wash
+john marshall I'll be doing an update soon.

I only sublimate on white shirts as it not very successful on dark shirts

Also could you let us know if you can iron the print?
+Skynepsis I don't recommend ironing on the transfers as you can't generate the constant heat and pressure as you can with a heat press.
Cheers
Martin
+Martin Butler Sorry Martin I meant can you iron the print after it's printed?
Skynepsis
It's best to iron them inside out as with any printed garment.
+Martin Butler Thank you, I maybe be selling my OKI soon and moving to sublimation, this information is really appreciated.
Skynepsis
No problem.

WHAT IS THIS POWDER NAME. PLEASE DESCRIBE IT?
Which Product of white colour discribe the white podder and tell the name please//////////..........
Its sublitocotton but its not made any more. It wasn't very good after washing.
Sir what is the reason why is hard to do sublimation on 100% cotton without that special powder and special sublimation paper?
For sublimation, you need a polyester material for the inks to bind to when heated. The inks do not bind to 100% cotton material
@@reviewthat Thank you Sir..
What is That powder Called? And where can i purchase it?
+DJBlackIce Podless Check out the link in the video description below the video.

Hi how can I purchase the powder ?
The powder doesn't wash well. I did a follow up vid on this
Hey Martin. I’ve watched your other vid Where you say it looks good after a few washes. But was going through the comments here and I notice you say this product doesn’t last very well.
So it’s no good?
Yes Nick, it seemed ok at first but failed soon after.
Cool, thanks Martin, that’s saved me some time and money. Top man.
Can you get this in the USA?
I don't know bud
Martin were can i buy this from
Its not a good product bud. It fails after a couple of washes.
Thanks for the reply Martin shame tho it looked good
Is there currently a product that’ll make this possible for black 100% cotton t shirt ?
No there isnt.
I have a feeling that this is very similar to an iron-on. There is no way that the design is absorbed completely into the fabric.
No of course it woudn't be fully absorbed. Sublimation would be the only way to achieve that.
Cheers
Martin
Martin Butler Well, not the only way. Most places doing color Tshirts are using direct ink printing.
I do sublimation printing but hate using polyester.
There is another new film for printing on cotton with sublimation but it has the same feel as an iron-on.
Looks great but no thanks.
what is the name of the powder please??
It is no good after washing
what % polyester/cotton t-shirt can you sublimate on please?
Check with the suppliers It depends on their mix I suppose.
Nice video...but how can i purchase this product? I am not from UK, but i want to buy it :( can U help me ?
+Mech Dread Try contacting sublitocotton to see if they can point you to a supplier
+Martin Butler Thank you...i hope they make deliveries in UK, i know one transport company in UK for my country:)

Marko Stepanovic
the ink I use is not an issue. the price is really cheap.
