If you were playing on a PC, your computer probably did not have a proper sound card, which was pretty common for IBM-PC class computers in the early 90's. Instead, it had a so-called PC-speaker that might not had been supported by the game, and even if it was the sound quality would be shit anyway because PC-speaker itself was shit.
I used to LOOOOOVVEEE this game when I was little!!!! I would play this & The Lions King all the time!!! I wish you could still play these nowadays... I sooo miss being a kid!!!! Does anyone remember the Adams Family game that came out around the same time as this??
awww i loved this sooo much!!! i played it when i was like 10 maybe, but i lost it..it was so sad.. one of the most difficult levels for me, was the genie one, you know with his hands and jumping on nothing.. beating jafar was pretty easy!!
My nostalgia for this game is based on installing the demo (this level) on my dad's PC and, so I thought, reformatting the entire thing. Vivid memory of having to confess to him whilst crying, as he always complained at me playing games on his machine. But hey, it's a vivid memory of dad and it's better than no memory of him.
whattay game, simply loved it... and really easy to clear all the stages though I was confused at the end about killing the jaffar.... as I was short of apples haha!!(Raja hassan )
This one is so classic! Amazing! I wanna play it again so bad now! Its still looks good! Animation is flawless, music good, graphics amazing for that time.. I like the fact the song exactly is long enough if you finish level 1 on the ''normal'' time (at least it looks like it? Tnx for putting it on!
Was there more than one pc version of this? I played it on pc when i was little but the HUD didn't look like this at all. For example, the health bar was Genie's lamp with smoke coming out of it and it was positioned in the upper left corner. :S

I had the three game box with Lion King, this and Jungle Book in it. I still have them installed on my ooooold laptop which has windows 95. This was my favorite though.

@igotyou62 Good point. That is a possibility. I have seen enough screen tearing on PC games in the past (and that's actually playing them on direct hardware (not emulators and such) and so that's where my mind automatically went. I suppose either one is possible.
@vree360 on the mega drive? you gotta be kidding me..i have played the game on both and yes there are interface differences and the music is certainly better on the PC.so how does that make the PC version inferior ? cause the interface is different ? i fail to see your point good sir
I think this was a really good game, i remember seeing this on the sega i think or was it the nes lol i dont remember. But anyways i think it was one of the best games out at the time.

Great version, the music is probably the best Ive heard in all the versions. The only issue I see is something weird is going on with the vsync.

@falak010 just run the "setup" executable in your aladdin folder and configure the sound. Put the same settings your DOsBox shows
