Everybody knows Muhammad Ali was good. But was he the greatest?
This boxing legend was a genius in his craft and used his fighting skill to make a mockery out of boxing legends like Frazier, George Foreman and Larry Holmes who were a lot bigger than him. Muhammad Ali was the best

As Ali's manager Angelo Dundee said, "What we got from Muhammad was good, but we never saw him at his best." Imagine what those missing years of 1967-70 would have looked like. He would have cleaned out the division including Joe Frazier. He probably would have gone unbeaten until he lost as an aging fighter to Leon Spinks in 1978. Also, he is the only heavyweight in history to fight every top contender of his era. No one is missing. Can't say that about Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, or Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. You can't duck boxers and say you're the best.
Absolutamente de acuerdo
Greatness is not only proven in sport.
More than helping others. Like ALI's efforts to help others.
Pretty sure Roberto Duran gave way more than Ali did
Top 5 Mohamed Ali ,Sugar Ray Robinson, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano,Joe Louis my opinion
If we talk about any sport the first name we will say Muhammad Ali
Amen to that.
huh? meaning if we talk about basketball related stuff we say muhammad???
@@szalations3725 because most of the greatest basketball player says Ali is the Best ever and we can't compare any player with ali
@@abdulhadihadi2538 um excuse me? Tiger woods, mj, lebron, pele, messi, tyson, brady and many more? Ali doesn't have the perfect streak too. U cannot tell me others don't stand a debate. Example mj stands unbeaten in the finals, brady has most nfl rings in history which actually is one of the more gruesome sports. Tyson beat the man who won ali, which subconsciously means he is better than ali but some don't accept which i can understand as ali is great too, what about football the sport most regard as the greatest sport in the world, show some respect please and be clear with ur comment, ur reference is any sport, not a debate about who's the very best, and i think there is no reason to subjectively say ali is the greatest when the variety of sports to choose from is so big, and u can't leave out the very least popular ones, which is why ur comment won't make sense but yes ali is one of the greatest athletes of all time. Stop concluding so abruptly and tidy up a conversation here. Unless u can show me the very stat where ali is perfectly unbeaten and has the greatest opponents ever, he did revolutionize boxing, doesn't mean this is where u end ur debate. PERIODT.
@@szalations3725 can lebron, woods,mj , and other do a debate like Ali did ?
I was 8 years of age(1969) as the match between Mohamadaly and Jofreeezer had been broadcast directly for the first time in Iran and we watched that great match...
Amigo, Ali Frazier 1 fue en 1971
1. Sugar Ray Robinson. He was one exceptional man in an era of great fighters.
2. Archie Moore. You can not understand how many fights he has won and how long he had fought in the ring. AND he died at the age of 84 without being punched drunk at the time were 15 round was normal for fights. Hell he fought (and lost) to a very young Ali in the ring at the age of 50 in the ring. He retired in 1963 with a win. 220 fights... 186 wins, 23 losses, 10 draws, 1 no contest. 145 knockouts. Boxing career. 30 years. He was also a coach, and a no nonsense one.
There are so many great boxers and real fighters that I had a chance to not only see but got into the ring myself. As far as modern day fighters. Andre Ward comes to mind.
ezzard charles before archie moore
Foreman didn't say that Cooney, Lyle and Williams were tougher than Shavers - he said that those 3 guys had been his hardest hitting opponents ever, while he had never fought Earnie Shavers.
Greatness have always been associated with muhmad ali
Sugar Ray Robinson for me. But of course Ali is up there.
Ali is the greatest of all times ....
Ali is the greatest because of how he carried himself and he was by far the greatest showman of all time but was able to back everything up with skill ...the whole package is what makes Ali the greatest ....I dont even think it means the best fighter it means who did most for the sport...who was the biggest inspiration ...And that's Ali
Tyson Hagler Foreman Ali and Tommy Morrison are my top 5 favorite fighter not ranking best but my favorite…
Ray Jones Jr?
W video
Legend m. Ali
I’ve seen ali claim rocky marciano was the best
He said that Marciano likely would’ve been his toughest fight.
Ali would have boxed Marciano's face off. Walcott was boxing the hell out of Marciano until the Suzy Q landed. Marciano wouldn't have been able to get Ali in the corner like that though. Ali was much faster and more evasive than Walcott.
Yo Floyd I love ya mane.. but ya know in some cases you can be too good for ya own good, or shall I say The Greater Good. #everlast 🏴☠️ 🏅 One. Keep banging ✌🏽
Mike tyson before he on prison he is beast.
And everybody forgot Marciano unbeatable, score 49:0,why ali.
Rocky Marciano
The new boxers egos are in the way. It's always about them.
Muhammad Ali would crush Floyd, I turned off after that stupid comment, ones a HW lol.
Muhammad ali is the goat Manny is the greatest of all time even at his 45 year old he still fighting a real champion of the world
Ali or SRR Pretty damn easy argument
ROBERTO DURAN
Did you really say "Ray" Jones Jr? wow
Mike Tyson a bit quicker combination puncher than Ali, single punch speed that goes to Ali he's like Roy Jones Jr at that, footwork & athletic ability that goes to Ali, head punch power that goes to Ali i think i mean look who he has ko'd & look who Mike couldn't ko, Belly punch power that goes to Mike Tyson he's very strong at that especially in the 1980's i got a video of the real sound in one of his sparring session it literally sounded like he threw a washing machine at his opponent that proves it was no joke that he was or was 1 of the strongest punchers on the planet.
Ali toyed with his opponents ¿Who does that? He's the greatest
GOAT without doubt is Sugar Ray Robinson. Greatest heavyweight is Joe Louis, longest reign, never defeated in prime years like Ali was twice, broke max Scmelings spine in 2 places only boxer to have done this, beat Schemlling at a time when Nazism saw him as Aryon ideal. Best combination heavyweight puncher, could block and counter.
Different era. Louis didn't have all the tools Ali had.
Please get your facts right and make a coherent video.
Foreman did not put those three great boxers above Shavers.
He simply never got to fight Shavers (to which he said "thank goodness")
Ali was hated on back in the day.
Unbelievable, everyone knows who is the greatest and best boxer of all time, but not once is he mentioned...
Mayweather was an excellent fighter but his head is way too big. For one thing, Ali had that long layoff that didn't do him any good. Also he fought it what many believe was the absolute golden age of heavyweights.
Mayweather also ducked opponents until they were old. Most of his fights were boring. And as far as his character, as far as I can see, all there is to him is materialism and sucking himself off. Made for a great troll that sold PPV's, I guess. But Ali was actually charismatic and likable, had genuine integrity, made sacrifices, actually inspired people. He transcended the sport. Floyd isn't even in the same league, despite his record on paper and genuine skill.
The man’s name is ROY Jones Jr, not Ray. Live, he’d correct you once, maybe twice-do it a 3rd time you’d be looking at the ceiling!
I think Tyson was the best! But just a little Physio sss
Tyson Fury, what a joke. He would barely have laid a glove on Ali. Ali was way too fast and skilled. And besides, look at the bums Fury has fought compared to the elite heavies Ali took on. I don't think Fury really believes he is the greatest, he's just a good salesman.
He probably was. In one interview, despite saying he’s the best here, said that Mike Tyson would beat him in 30 seconds.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. He's huge compared to ALI. ALI was not known as a power puncher and fought on the outside. Fury has a long reach, tall and great defence. For Ali to get in and hurt fury would have been very very hard. Plus sports science has evolved in a tremendous way since then. That's why you can't really compare old fighters to new. You have to factor in that ALI never fought a boxer as such, most were sluggers bar Holmes. It would not be easy for Ali in any way shape or form.
@@Biscuits645are you serious? Just stop. Fury couldn’t beat Holmes, Bowe, Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Foreman, Frazer, Norton, shall I go on? In fact he couldn’t even beat Brian Nielsen or Tommy Morrison.
Larry Holmes.
Tyson Fury thinks he is better than Ali was? What a joke. If he's so great then why is he afraid to fight the top contenders?
The only one i can say it can make and argument against ali might be mayweather becuase of what he has done and hes defense is insane and he is very accurate. But am only talking about skills that dosent mean he can beat ali if they were in the same class they both amazing.
You watch ALI fighting clips and then you watch fury's clips ...If you have got 2 eyes and least bit of IQ you would know Fury is nothing compared to Ali
@@user-sz6hk1nv3o Maywaether isn't in the conversation for GOAT of the welterweight division he's never defeated an elite boxer in their prime sugar Shane and Pacquio were Bothe too old. Robinson Leonard Hearns are in that order best welterweights may weather somewhere between 10 and 4 depending on who you ask
FLOYD MAYWEATHER IS THE 🐐 OF BOXING
Muhammad Ali is the GOAT but his hype and success really overshadowed Joe Frazier greatness Which makes Morden boxers to underrate him.
Ali had problems with guys that had stamina which made Frazier a bad match up for him but Frazier was not so good against some of the other legendary boxers.
Floyd is just a boxer Ali was an activist and a boxer Ali made the fight of the century
as
Tyson Fury is a clown and one of the greatest comedians of all times 😂
It has to be a heavyweight because he would beat any lower weight and there's only one Heavyweight and thats Ali. For all his boxing experience and success you would think Mayweather would realise that.
Fury may lay claim he could beat Ali. Mayweather cant. He shops for clothes in the childrens department
In he's time he was
OK HE SAID MUHHAMAD ALI GOT BEAT FUNNY JOKE! FLOYD MAYWEATHER GOT BEATEN BY LOGAN PAUL LOL QUICKEST KARMA!!!!!!!
Ali is smaller compared 2 the giants of today like Fury ( +with high IQ)
The really greatest...Lewis being humble, is the reason he is the greatest. A cocky and disrespectful guy cannot be the best ever.
I don't like Floyd but man, he is genius. He makes world champions look amateurs.
Floyd is a punk!
See what people judge the GREATEST boxer title, is more like who is the GREATEST “fighter”. Cuz if you judge the GREATEST “Boxer” by definition, then you can’t say Ali was the GREATEST “Boxer”. The best to “hit, and not get hit”, is Floyd Mayweather. 90% of after his fights he didn’t even look like he started fighting yet. Now who’s the GREATEST fighter than you can say Ali, Ray Robinson, even Salvador Sanchez. But GREATEST “BOXER” definitely Mayweather
You could say 1960's Ali was just as evasive as Floyd. Definitely not 1970's Ali though.
The greatest is Mike Tyson.
Dreaming
The second half of Tyson's career was not very good. After 96 he wasn't anything special anymore. He was truly great in the 80's but getting rid of Rooney was a big mistake that cost him. Don King ruined him and Tyson himself was his own worst enemy. He was never the same after Rooney's departure.
Why nobody says anything about Marciano
Too small and with no elite wins
He had elite wins but they were all older. He was undefeated but didn't accomplish enough to be considered the GOAT.@@benjaminbushell
