Struggling a bit today with a lingering headache that won't seem to go away! Showing the real side of things over here, though, where sometimes we have high hopes for a day and have to change plans to take care of ourselves!
I’ve been so overwhelmed with my toxic teaching job that I haven’t done anything for my writing at all yet this month. Listening to this video on my way to work this morning helped me so much just to remember there is a light at the end of this torture tunnel I’m in. I’m retiring very, very soon. You always manage to connect something within me just by being you. I hope you feel better today and that the headache was a one off and won’t be coming back anytime soon.
I told myself to enjoy my first Nano, have had days where I've written 2,000 and days where I only wrote 800 but I told myself not to push myself and just try to reach the day goal. So far so good and I'm so happy of being at 20,200 words today❤. Even if I'm basically transcribing what I had written by hand I am doing amazing because I checked the number difference and by hand I was at 10,855 words which means I've added 9,435 words while transcribing, modifying and actually creating my First Draft on my computer❤. Big hugs and remember to take time to rest after an amazing retreat
Girl. I would’ve curled up under a blanket and watched UA-cam for the rest of the day. Even the vlog ending would’ve waited for tomorrow. Take it easy on yourself. 💜💜💜
Never give up, never surrender! 😀 I hope you're feeling better this morning - I rarely finish my GYST lists, but it helps just to get everything down out of my brain and onto paper, in true GTD style!
The part that really resonated with me was when you addressed the: why did I spend my morning cleaning and not writing when the writing part was my priority? Dude. Seriously. I catch myself doing this same thing ALL the time. Like, I know I need to get my edits done, and yet…I choose to watch the baseboards and scrub the shower. Like….whyyyyyy do I do this to myself. I totally get what you’re saying with the prioritizing the lower commitment tasks. I wish I found a way to reprioritize in my adhd mind
You’ve had quite the day! Be proud! (I say this from the floor of morning/ all day baby sickness, and can barely get up at all) YOU GOOOOO!!! Woot woot!!! *sends all the good vibes*
This is so relatable. I pushed too hard on my GYST day on Friday, had a high pain day yesterday and also car issues on my way to the write-in, and today would have been my grandmother's birthday and I'm still missing her.
Your kids are getting so big. Andrew is so tall! And Evie is so cute singing "shake it off" lol. Made my day. ❤ And I hope your headache goes away,! Sending good vibes!
This was honestly the pep talk I needed today. I have a reputation for being reliable with my family and friends - but I let things for myself fall by the wayside, and it makes me feel so bad. I feel like I haven't been showing up for myself at all, and I think I need to take a step back and see if it's not at all or just imperfectly. Imperfectly is better than nothing.
I hope you feel better! Pain and illness always takes a toll on plans and creativity, even more important to give yourself grace and kind understanding. Love from Germany
I was struggling today because I am late on getting my book to editor because I got hit with a pain glare up, a migraine, and cramps this week and just couldn't write the words and edit as planned. Add in the mom guilt for having to rest instead of go play, and I felt horrible. Thanks for keeping it real.
I love the green and it's very Christmas! (plus it's brand new!!) I feel for you with your headache, I use to get serious migraine headaches that would knock me down for days. Take the time and allow your body time to rest. Positive and healing thoughts sent your way.
Bless you for coming back to record your thoughts from your difficult day. You are winning on so many levels! I’m so sorry you’re suffering. As you shared, it’s easy to plan for and share ideas for taking a day off. But it’s so difficult to actually give in and admit defeat. You got a lot accomplished, today, including some words. That’s more than winning! I hope you were able to take it easy and get more rest after you were done recording. And I hope you’re feeling much better!🙏🏻❤️
I'm planning to go to the Pikes Peak Writers Conference, and I'm so excited to hear you'll be there! It's in my hometown. You're going to love the mountains--they're gorgeous.
I’ve only just started in the past few years getting cyclic migraines and if you track via your cycle you can all but predict them, also perhaps look at the cycle for progesterone dips/rises, but also look at not taking progesterone as you may be super sensitive and it will make it worse. But maybe look at there is so,eghing but can’t think of it at the moment.
That sounds like a migraine to me… I had debilitating migraines for years without realizing what they were. I have realized that my triggers are lack of sleep, bright lights (even bright sunlight in the summer), and too much stress. You didn’t have to finish up the vlog until the next day… remember to take care of yourself!
I have server scoliosis and tendinitis in both wrists due to two car accidents when I was younger and a past factory job. Both make everyday tasks, including writing, difficult to the point that I don't feel like doing anything, and then I stress because I feel like I'm not being productive. But, most time I still push myself, even though it makes the pain worse.
Sounds more like a full blown migraine than a headache, and I swear if someone's never suffered a migraine they have no idea, they don't even compare to a simple heaadache. Many hugs Sarra, take care of yourself, that's always the priority
I was just about to say this! I get migraines that are triggered at hormonal points in my cycle, so I totally get what she said about it being cyclical. Also, mine have gotten worse as I've entered my mid-forties and peri-menopause.
This kind of headache is mostly a follow of a muskel in the schoulderregion. Wenn I have it, I try to find the point on the schoulderblade an press it. After some time the muskle relaxed. Succes.
I have been fighting off a migraine for the last three days, so I emphathize. Right now I only aiming to get the minimum words, just to keep some momentum.
I hope your head feels better. Take care of yourself. I didn't get everything done today due to my IBS. I have taken a dose of both anti nausea medication. I am finally starting to feel better. Hopefully after class I can get more done. I will make sure that I give myself some grace today. I was supposed to do research for a blog for my career that I am working on with my staff from my day programmer adults with Autism. I was supposed to clean more of my room. I am tired and not feeling well due to my IBS. I think tonight I will listen to my body and rest.
That headache on the one side of the head that just won't go away, is likely a cluster migraine. You might get that checked out. They are cyclical, and often related to things like PCOS, Metabolic Syndrome X and such things. Not saying it is, just something to check into. You are not alone in your pain and frustration! Hugs.
My husband gets massive migraines. He had concussions when there wasn't a protocol. Headaches will stop you in your tracks and it's not something easily pushed through. Do you have blue light glasses? You edited a vlog and then you wrote, maybe mixed with kicking up dust causing allergies mixed with a lot of screen time triggered the headache. It might not be.
The keyboard is a mix of parts I built myself last year! The keyboard itself is a Portico75, the switches are dark magic girl switches, and the keycaps are called Astrolokeys!
hi,. Sorry I know this is none of my buisness but have you considered that it may be a migrain rather then a headache. Usually one sided pain and linked to yr cycle. Painkillers very rarly work but have you tried vaso-dilators. Game changer for some people.
When my left eye hurt two Sundays ago, I just laid down and put a cold wet towel on my eye and head, and got better the next morning! Never took medicine! No, I am not a scientiologist . I just believe in natural healing. I take medicine only life and death situation or the pain gets worse!
Sorry about your headache. I know you think it might have been dust. But consider... Have you been following your diet? Did you eat that cupcake? If not on your diet, get back on track. We're rooting for you! Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.
Well, they don't just randomly start whenever unless you have them on a schedule as far as I know lol. You have to tell them to start and where to go...

Headaches are THE WORST! Kudos to you for getting as much done as you did!

I was beating myself up, I was far behind getting started. But I’ve reached 10,089 words. I’m feel good about it.
E's getting so grown up and a big helper!
I hope you feel better! Pain and illness always takes a toll on plans and creativity, even more important to give yourself grace and kind understanding. Love from Germany
I needed to see this video because I’ve been beating myself up these last few weeks.

I love how honest you real you are. I so appreciate you. Your space looks wonderful…very conducive to creativity. Nice work! 🩷
That's why on my day off I'm going to get as many words as I can!
I'm planning to go to the Pikes Peak Writers Conference, and I'm so excited to hear you'll be there! It's in my hometown. You're going to love the mountains--they're gorgeous.

I agree with you. Progress over perfection
I am hoping to complete 50,000 words of my second YA novel but, I only got 9,000 words for November 13!😩

I’m sorry you had a headache. But I love your red top! 😍

Absolutely loved this vlog!

Thx for being soooo candid about your challenges. It’s inspiring & makes me admire you even more. Thx ❤

Blessings to you 🙏 ✨️
Lots of hugs and love. Congrats on getting done all that you did. I am celebrating your wins AND celebrating that you took time to heal, as needed!
Shout out to George❤️way to take care of what needs to get done! Hugs to you all! Take some time for you mama❤️

Take a moment girl, we understand ❤ headaches suck
I tried to get my novel done despite entering writing contests and working at my day job!
Oh, no…migraines are terrible. Hope you feel better. 🦋
I got done with my story last night and my word count is 105 thousand words 😳🫢🤗
Congrats!
Love your blogs so much! May I ask, have you noticed any difference or improvement with the ovasitol? Thanks ❤
Ferociously wanna know where you got that keyboard!!
The keyboard is a mix of parts I built myself last year! The keyboard itself is a Portico75, the switches are dark magic girl switches, and the keycaps are called Astrolokeys!
Hey Sarra, Try putting turmeric in tea with a little bit of ginger and honey. It may help with your headache.

Headaches are the WORST! Have you tried Imitrex (sumatriptan) for migraines?
Those lingering headaches are the worst. It’s definitely best to slow down and rest instead of pushing through it, which might make it worse.
Oh no, I hoped you feel better soon.
Heard you mention the "HB Method" enrollment? did i mishear you or could you clarify?
None of are perfect but as long as we are progressing we are still in a good place. 😊
oh no! i hope your headache gets better
I had one Sunday when I was on a roll then my left eye started to kill me! 😞
Andrew is so grown up to be playing "gentle ball" with his young sister!
Migraines suuuuuuck. I'm so sorry. Thanks for the pep talk! Did I spy some Squishmallows in Evies room? My daughter is obsessed.

It wasn't an easy choice but I decided for my mental health not to finish NaNo this year

Well, they don't just randomly start whenever unless you have them on a schedule as far as I know lol. You have to tell them to start and where to go...
