Honestly I think it's its own thing. It certainly has the arrangement of atmospheric DnB but sounds like it was made with a more modern synthwave approach with the sound design. I think it's really cool to mix something old and something new, and the result is great.
This is a very specific style of jungle that makes me feel like I'm playing PS1 era racing games, and I'm loving every second of that nostalgic vibe. To think that I can hear these sounds freshly made in 2022 is astounding. Love this!
I just "rediscovered" this kind of music (ambient jungle?) I originally experienced at a very young age (8 - 12) Back then it felt like a promise, "when you are old enough to go out this is what you are going to experience" this along all the futuristic merchandise at the end of the millennium (I can specially think of translucent plastic electronic equipment and fake plastic unnecessary accessories) really made an impression in me which I had consciously forgotten. Now a couple days ago I randomly got to a UA-cam mix that grabbed / resonated with all this stuff from my unconscious mind and made me realize I need to start making this music so I can bring out, project into the world my forgotten fantasy / hope. And now I come to find this as well, with lots of people loving it and I can't help it but feel that, for the first time in my life, I'm part of something while still being true and honest to myself. something I might be waiting since those years. This is amazing!

For years I only knew about Vaperror doing Juke similar to this and couldn't find anything like it. And then... boom. I learned about Intelligent Drum and Bass and then 4am Breaks. Holy shit, a new world opened before my eyes. Thank you Alfaxysm Software, every other intelligent dnb/jungle producer and 4am Breaks for doing your thing. this is so close to being a homerun for me but it's just a tiny little bit too fast. pulled it into audacity and lowered it by 10%, that's the butterzone. still, this is super nicely done. definitely gonna be keeping my eyes on this alfaxysm dude
