Amazon has forced older versions to update as of the middle of February. I have been using 1.17 for a long time and today it popped up saying I have to update before allowing me to do anything....which breaks this way now.

This doesn't work. Amazon has an encryption system that prevents you from making the conversion.
I have version 1.3 I have used several converters I have even paid for the application but they cannot pass the amazon encryption system

Didn’t work for any of the books that I wanted to convert to PDF. I kept getting the message that the file couldn’t be read, or it was encrypted or broken. I just don’t know why Kindle make it so hard to download to PDF a book that we have purchased. That’s why I don’t bother purchasing books on Kindle and Amazon any more.
You have to remove the protections for the file.

For the records... it works "but" only for free books. the books you purchased is encrypted - it won't work. I will update this after trying a few other methods.
