Plus he is gentle, soft and caring, traits people apreciate in female characters but not in males. Well, their loss, more Kaidan for us ;P

+joripien I agree completely, which is why I made this video in the first place. He's one of my top favorite squad mates. The depth of his character as well as his humorous side is a little bit more subtle and grounded than most Mass Effect heroes, which is probably one of the reasons people don't warm up to him.
Kaidan is my favorite character in the entire series. My first character was a male Shepard that romanced Liara and chose to save Kaidan on Virmire simply because Ashley shot Wrex and I was really pissed at her. When finishing all the sidequests between Virmire and the final battle on the Citadel, I decided to talk to Kaidan more and realized how amazing he was. My Shepard and him became best bro's and he stayed in my party for the end of ME1 and all of ME3. He was the best character hands down.
It always annoys me when people call Kaidan "boring". I love his stories and his sense of humor, and his banter with the other crew members is on point. Granted, he's no Garrus Vakarian, but he's still a great character in his own right.
People who say that are just used to the constant instant gratification dialogue/quippy one-liners that permeate Bioware games. It takes a bit more effort to understand and appreciate Kaidan's humor and his backstory.

I work well with Biotics and as much as I don't like Liara, her biotics were helpful in Kaidan's absence, but I did start using Jack once she was on my team, her biotics were the best in my opinion, it was a shame you couldn't have her on your squad in 3.
Flamey Bree I also used Jack and I also missed her in ME3. She looked better the few we saw of her, but still... I liked her evolution. And her powers.
I hate the fact that they gave more importance to Liara ... that if it is boring and not interesting. Kaidan is fun, makes me laugh and fall in love. I only play ME2 to maintain the relationship for ME3
There's a part where if you bring kaidan and wrex to take down fist, wrex will blast him point blank all the sudden and kaidan will freak out saying oh my god!!!! It made me laugh so hard

And as this video shows he was a pretty amusing guy as well - didn't say a lot, but I liked what he did say. And he's also clearly more inclined to trust Shepard in ME3 than Ashley is in his position.
that last part is not entirely true. Your experience with Kaidan can shape the way he talks to you, just like Ashley. Sure, he never says "I hope the reapers send you to hell" like Ashley says, because that would be very out of character for him. But if you "cheated" on him ( I just hate how the writers handled this thing, Shepard died and was ressurrected by a galactic terrorist organization, Kaidan had every right to be upsed and end things in horizon, but the game still acts like you cheated if you move on to someone else in ME2?), or never actually have had a close relationship with him (I saw this scenario in my first playtrough, since I played ME3 first and wasn't sure how the relationships worked yet), he was way harshier towards Shepard. But I agree, he is an amazing char and I wish he didn't get so much hate in this fanbase.

Heart gets broken on a female character (in this case, the final mission just... killed me), and then use an angry male character to say "Fuck it" to everything.

Fraps, registered version. The actual videos (on the PC) generally look really good, but as you can see from this here - mixing them (I think I used Ulead Studio) didn't quite lead to good results. The most you get is 480p and it isn't of the quality I want, and I'm positive I must be doing something wrong. Regardless, Fraps is a good program for recording (and you'd want something like Virtual Dub to shrink down the file sizes).
This happens in the Hot Labs when you talk to Mira right at the end of the Peak 15 segment, before you trigger the neutron purge. Make sure you try out all conversation options with her.

Well, if I were to compare the two Virmire survivors, it really comes down to which I hate more. One has really nice background development and is subsequently shaped by the backstory (even if her attitude does stick out like a sore thumb) and the other feels incredibly underdeveloped and in the bigger scheme of things seems really naive. While it's not necessarily Kaidan's fault, it does put my mind off even bothering with interacting with him at all.
Can I ask what program you used to record these? I assume it was on a PC? Just thinking of making some videos of my own and want to work out how to do it :D

Ashley and Kaidan's banter was THE BEST in ME1. Really wish both could've been in the later games but we all know why that didn't happen.
