Sarah great video I have a question do u know anything about Jobs in NY like Hotel Jobs? I'm planning to move to N.Y. next Summer. I'm moving from Houston could u please give me some advice.
I typically stay at the Gallivant. A single room (small, tiny bed) is about $125-$170 a night. These petite rooms have balcony options with no extra cost. It’s in midtown Manhattan- which is perfect for me. It’s walkable to everything I want to experience (Broadway, Central Park, museums, etc). It’s literally 2 minutes from Times Square. This is only recommended to those who want the touristy experience lol.
I was in NYC last September on my holiday from London, I was on a budget and was struggling to find an affordable hotel. Luckily I came across a fantastic hotel called The Jane, it was just brilliant. Its in the lively Meatpacking district, and offers either single rooms, (or cabins as they call them) or a double room which is a bit more expensive. The price for the cabin was only £90 per night, the hotel itself is full of old style charm, the staff even wear old Bell hop uniforms. So if anyone wants a good cheap hotel in a great location, you won't go wrong with The Jane!
All yall looking for something around the 100$ range thats super clean and safe: West Side YMCA guest rooms. I can always depend on them being super clean and safe (they actually recently refurbished everything a year or so ago!) you get free wifi, fresh towels, clean sheets and beds. Its great for students or for groups (they have some rooms with a bunch of bunk beds for up to 6 people if youre traveling in a pack!) The bathrooms and showers are in a common area style that are hotel key access ((great privacy)) and if youre lucky to be assigned to a room on the outer side of the building facing the street you get a gorgeous view of central park with the sunrise in the back! Good luck to anyone visiting nyc! Have fun up there!
I stayed in New Jersey city in an airbnb for $40 a night. It was amazing. We just walked 5 minutes to the path train across the Hudson and then we were in downtown NYC in 20 minutes. Saved a lot of money and we got to spend more on experiences and food!
Omg seriously? 😂 I started following your channel because of my planned trip to New York, I’m back for a few weeks now and your’re actually in the hotel I stayed in! 😄 Paper Factory Hotel. I could really recommend it! Friendly people, beautiful design, 30 second walk to a metro, about 10 minutes to central Manhattan with metro, good breakfast!, ...
yeah....she definitely has a certain level of comfort and style she wants to maintain. If you could care less about having a wine and cheese happy hour, you can find clean hotels in UWS and LES for $109 to $115 a night in January and February.
My favorite NYC hotel is in Greenwich Village, is only $100 per night, and it was the first place the survivors from the Titanic stayed. It's called The Jane. I love that place!!!
Going back a 2nd time to NYC this time during the holidays so I’m looking into these places hopefully to find a good one! Thanks for this great information .
I was able to get a private room in Brooklyn on Airbnb back in July for $62 a night out the door. It was in a working class area but the area is not that bad and it definitely was safe walking from the subway station to the apartment at 3am.
I love your dresses and your style; not to mention, you’re easy on the eyes. As New Yorkers go you’re actually pretty cool. Yes, that was a compliment. The rest is the rest.
Okay, So i know you (through a search) for not more than an hour and I got a chance to see your latest video. Sarah, you've got a fan. Coming to NYC in Sept and I am going through all your videos and going to share with my colleagues too. You are lovely. The amount of money you would help me save you deserve atleast a coffee treat.
Great info. I am moving to NYC and had no idea what neighborhood to live in. I decided to stay in an Airbnb for my first year so I can move around and check out the different neighborhoods. While the info wasn't exactly what Im doing -- it gave me so interesting alternatives.
Thanks 30 And A Wake Up! If you found this helpful, you might want to check out the other videos in my NYC series here: bit.ly/NYCplaylistNew. Have fun in New York and I hope you subscribed!
It's because she did an "average" instead of a median when she did her pricing. The actual MEDIAN price of a hotel in NYC (Manhattan) is approximately $130 a night, with hotels ranging from $112 to $495 (but plenty under $190, all with 3.0 or above ratings) on a weekend in mid-November. There were a few (Canal Loft Hotel and Blue Moon Hotel) in the $60 range. I think this review was also mostly focusing on luxury hotels in prime locations, because it makes for a better video. But, if you're willing to stay in an average hotel in a neighborhood with a 15 minute subway commute to Times Square, you can do it for $60 to $130 a night easily - and less if you use AirB&B or Vrbo. (I don't work for either, I just like to travel.)
Excellent production values in this video. Totally agree on the Giraffe and Library hotels. Great value at both, including breakfast. Readers/viewers should be aware most airbnbs in NYC are illegal. People have problems with those accommodations, I would not book airbnb in the city.
I've been to the international student residence on my trip and if you don't mind the walls don't reaching the ceiling and when you are only there to sleep you get a great deal! 62 euro's for a private room in May :D which is pretty ridiculous! PLUS is located about 5 minute train (The J train) from bryant park.
I really liked the video. The hotel and the streets are amazing. Cozy cafes. I think it's much more beautiful there in winter. Now I have a little dream to go on winter holidays in New York.

Good video Sarah I'm excited about relocating to an interesting city. It will definitely be interesting to see how N.Y. will be after this pandemic. I could go on well into next yr.
This video primarily contains a large information part-this is a big plus, since tourists can not do without sufficient information about the objects. You can also see excellent shooting and communication with the public . As Sarah said, new York is not a very profitable city. Therefore, it is not so easy to find a good hotel in the ratio of money and quality. With this question, Sarah helps the audience! Personally, I liked the hotel best, which was once a factory ( the atmosphere, I think, will remain in it forever, just like the history of this factory and the construction of the hotel). Another hotel that I liked is the hotel with a library. Quite a cozy place, especially if you like to spend time alone and read books.
The library hotel averages about $350 a night. :/ The others were quite expensive too. If you really want to stay in NYC for cheap, I recommend staying at one of the YMCA's, or another hostel.
Thanks for this video. Pleaseeee keep this kind of content coming. My wife and I are planning a trip for the 3rd week of October and we’re doing an Air Bnb b/c everything was so expensive.

Hello people, I‘m planing a trip to NYC, in Summer 2019. Now I‘ve written all activities which I can do, even the prices from the must eat dishes and all the attracions :). So, my last issue is „AirbnB in NYC“ I‘ve read some articles that to rent a whole accommodation is illegal but to rent a private room is legal. Has this law topicality? Now, my last question to the New Yorkers, which quarters are safe? I don‘t know cause most people think New York is so unsafe that at daylight somebody could shoot at someone. I don‘t know if it is only a clishe in Europe. Greetings from Germany, you‘re the best NY vlogger and guide on YT, thank you
Hello Agha, I was in NYC in September, my friend and I stayed in the Bronx for 4-5 days. There wasn't any feelings of insecurities ( we always came back to the Airbnb apartment very late around midnight) We had a walk in Harlem, people were very nice compared to some countries in Europe. Then we stayed for a week in Jersey city 15-20 minutes from Manhattan. I've read that it was illegal to rent a whole apartment in Manhattan but not for the other boroughs I think. New-York isn't more dangerous than any other big city in Europe, I'm from Brussels, and I know that there are some places I can't walk alone at night. I think that's the same thing in other big cities. There's 1 thing I can say about NYC: it was amazing, we had a great time and New Yorkers are super nice.
I need some feedback about other apps and websites, in addition to AirBnb , like Zumper and others (if you know about them) ,through which I can rent an apartment for less than $60 per day
Great video, Sarah! All those hotels look lovely, I think I've got a good deal in the hotel I'm staying in next month but I'll be sure to check out your recommendations if ever I'm lucky enough to make a return visit.

I am going to New York in less than a month. Where could I find a place that is not more than $260 a night (3 people) and still in the city and is a decent place to stay? We have booked our nights at Americana Inn, but maybe you know better places? If not, still fine. Thank you
Sarah, any idea where I could leave my car for a few days while I stay in Manhattan? Perhaps some safe but reasonably priced car parking close to NYC? Any other options?
Moving to NYC next month! I'm planning on staying at an AirBNB for a week or two until I find an apartment. Any tips on how to find an apartment? Is Craigslist semi-trustworthy? I would love to have roommates!!! Instant friends! Looking for a place that close to or easy to get to Lennox Hill.

Hi Sarah, where did you buy the yellow dress which you were wearing at the Paper Factory Hotel? What’s the Brand?
It is awesome 😍😍😍😍
Thanks for the vids Sarah!
What's it like there in first week of december? Is it worth going there for Christmas shopping? Any Christmas market?
I need some feedback about other apps and websites, in addition to AirBnb , like Zumper and others (if you know about them) ,through which I can rent an apartment for less than $60 per day
Great video, Sarah! All those hotels look lovely, I think I've got a good deal in the hotel I'm staying in next month but I'll be sure to check out your recommendations if ever I'm lucky enough to make a return visit.
Thanks DJ PIGG! If you found this helpful, you might want to check out the other videos in my NYC series here: bit.ly/NYCseries18. Have fun in New York and I hope you subscribed!
I am going to New York in less than a month. Where could I find a place that is not more than $260 a night (3 people) and still in the city and is a decent place to stay? We have booked our nights at Americana Inn, but maybe you know better places? If not, still fine. Thank you
Are Airbnb’s illegal in nyc? I read that somewhere.
I am feeling broke already, thank you
Does the Airbnb discount still work? ☺️
I think backpacker hostels are cheaper than all these hotels and are of really good quality. Plus you get to meet new people so what could be better
Just came across your video looking to come to NY from London
Great! I hope you subscribed :)
Hotel Wolcott in the city is reasonable. Great local bars and restaurants across the street. Hyatt down the street has an awesome rooftop bar.
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
I found an AirB&B for $50 a night on the upper East side of Central Park :P
hi..can you give me the link? tks
Link please?
Was that a rickshaw behind you?
Sarah, any idea where I could leave my car for a few days while I stay in Manhattan? Perhaps some safe but reasonably priced car parking close to NYC? Any other options?
Yes! Try Spot Hero. It's an app that will show you the cheapest parking options in an area.
Thank you.
Moving to NYC next month! I'm planning on staying at an AirBNB for a week or two until I find an apartment. Any tips on how to find an apartment? Is Craigslist semi-trustworthy? I would love to have roommates!!! Instant friends! Looking for a place that close to or easy to get to Lennox Hill.
how are prices on sep and oct comparted to jan?
