- It’s time for another contender to see if it can take down the Porsche 911 Turbo S!
We’ve got Yianni in the 911 Turbo, and he’s lining up against Mat in the Lucid Air Dream Performance.
So let’s check out the stats. Starting with the trusty Porsche, it’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that can put down 650hp and 800Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,640kg. If you’re looking to buy one new, it’ll cost around £180,000.
Then we have the all-electric Lucid. It’s equipped with two electric motors, and they combine to put down an eye-watering 1,111hp and 1,390Nm! Power is sent to all four wheels, but given it’s electric it’s pretty heavy, weighing in at 2,383kg! It’s also slightly more expensive than the Porsche, costing £193,000.
So the Lucid has more power, but will the extra weight work against it? Or will it hang on to snatch the win? There’s only one way to be sure… LET’S RACE!

The lucid looks boring af, why would you need such a powerful family car? If it at least looked good like the Koenigsegg Chimera then it'd be excusable, and again, the Porsche has almost half the power and still keeps up

It will be very interesting to see the Air Sapphire as that thing is even quicker and has a limiter set at 205mph so Yianni will have a really rough time racing that one even over a mile.
I reckon though a SF90 would do the trick...

The Sapphire actually ended up destroying the SF90. There’s a video on it. It put bus lengths on the SF90. Incredibly quick car.

There would be NO surprise there. Even the Rimac Nevera looses big at Nuringbring versus the Porsche 911 GT 2. Its not even close. 6: 36 to 7:05. The weight of the Rimac hurts it too much in turns, and even the Rimac's ground effects and downforce cannot make up the difference. In a straight line EV's instant torque can pull the weigjt, but not in back to back turns. Physics cannot be cheated there !

Porsche Turbo S is a pristine machine. However, to beat that light and nimble of a car with a 5-seater-S-class-beating-cabin-room is a feat in itself. It surely requires more hp and better traction.
Sapphire does not have a lot more power. However, the tri-motor set up gives it a huge advantage. If you had tri-motor set up in this Lucid too, the results would have vastly different.@@butwait

The day “911 HUL” departs will be a sad day, it’s literally the CarWow benchmark car. I’m always impressed to see that thing just launch perfectly every single time without the slightest complaint. And again, despite the power and torque deficit, it and Yanni still put in a respectable performance.
