How his father went to seeing these kids as "kids who don't give a damn about their education" Until the dinner scene, he saw how they weren't rude, they talked to each other as if everything in the world stopped for just that moment. He started seeing what his daughter was seeing....
It's kind of bittersweet how the roles reversed between her dad and husband. Her husband started out supporting her while her dad didn't, until her husband began feeling neglected, he started feeling inferior to her which he selfishly let kill his pride as a man when he could've continued supporting her instead her father was the one who began supporting and admiring her hard work.
Well, that is a father's responsibility, is it not? To display his concerns for his children, and be their pillar of support when they need their support.
Evamaria Nazario Thats true..when you love someone you want to talk to them every second of the day..you dont of course because distance is important in a relationship but they are always on your mind. When ever you do something you think about how theyd feel, or react. Would it make them happy too? You put them above yourself or anyone else. You enjoy even the smallest moments with them. Some people fall out of love..and everyone is capable of getting over a past love..so I wont say that true love is final and forever. But when you do love them, they come first in your world(unless you have kids but thats a different kind of love)
Spectra Light I wouldn’t say he felt inferior to her. She was doing everything in her power for the kids ( Not that it’s a bad thing ). But neglect is obviously the factor why he left.
There's a great deleted scene at the hotel's restaurant where Erin's dad notices a waiter discriminate a colored student. The waiter judges her by her appearance/class and tells her "you won't like that dish" when she tries to order, then tries to convince the whole class to order pizzas instead. Erin's dad stood up for the student, told Erin he'd pay for the whole dinner, and encouraged the student to order whatever she wanted. I wish it was still up on UA-cam.

Being a teacher is an enormous responsibility. I know that if I had continued my teaching profession, I would have dedicated my life to my job - to the point that I would not have enough quality time for my own family. After a decade of teaching, I quit. Teaching was more than a job for me. It was my passion. But as they say, your passion will hurt you. Teaching gave me all the joys that no other job could. Most of the other scenes I see people commenting about how the kids should forget about race "we're the human race" rainbow outlook. I feel like this scene deserves it more than the others :/
It's a great thing Hilary was enthusiastic enough to help certain achieve greatness and be statistically eager to help support her kids based on their back ground even though their hoodlum teenagers doesn't mean they can't be given second chances....yeah they've broken some laws but that's because some of them did what they have to do to survive....and they came from broken homes I'm not saying it was right but if you go through shit and feel alone or you've been lied to or betrayed all your life it'll be very harder to understand that those people that actually care about you to see you become greater then what you was.I was one of those kids once a upon time I've had problems my worst battle was dealing autism depression and suicidal thoughts even being a victim of bullying....I never came from a broken home thank goodness but I did however end up abused by my ex step dad where he'd hurt me and my mom before we got away from him...The point is if your different from most people especially teachers if they care about your well being they won't judge you that's why I liked this movie it was so powerful. All she wanted to do was help brighten up her student's futures so they'd feel loved and not left out I always admired the girl for her beliefs she was so strong and not afraid to try helping individuals in life.

Anja you’re kinda forced into having good social skills as an only child. You have built in friends as siblings (usually), but as only children there’s no one to play with us or to teach us the ropes from a peer’s perspective so we have to be able to find friends to fill in those gaps or we’ll just have to be lonely.
