Part of the story for Moon Gundam is that it is a Zeon suit that they stuck a Gundam head on. The Vaguil is a test suit for Sazabi that got its head damaged and was replaced with the found head of a Gundam.
I’m definitely thinking putting the fuel tanks where the thrusters are and then putting a few thrusters bells under the funnel rack would look a lot better
I mean this Varguil & Moon Gundam are the prototype stages for the Sazabi, thats the reason of some of the design changes (fuel tanks under the funnel rack) cause whats the point of a Prototype having & looking exactly like the Sazabi lol is more like a natural evolution, overall love the kit great review like always keep the great quality of your videos.
Didn't care for the Moon Gundam, so I was waiting for this to be able to experience how great a kit this is. Managed to snag one on P Bandai US so unfortunately I gotta wait forever.
despite its P-Bandai status the mono-eye and head cameras being just stickers is like a step down from the Moon Gundam who has separate pieces for the eyes and cameras thus no stickers at all which is its main selling point, still it is a nice purple baby Sazabi and pairs up great with the Moon Gundam on the shelf.
HG’s are kind of my bread and butter personally, and I have to say both this kit and the Moon Gundam are definitely some of the best HG kits I’ve built so far. I managed to snag one of the Varguil kits along with a Moon Gundam and I really thought I was going to be disappointed by it because everything I read or watched said this kit was “THE BEST HG EVER!!”. It didn’t disappoint. I can’t say if it’s the best HG kit ever, they all have pro’s/con’s, but it is definitely a pretty nice and unique build imo. I think the Varguil looks better than the Moon Gundam with the mono-eye head. It suits the design better, which makes sense considering that was the intended design according to canon, I guess. I never have cared for the Sazabi, but I love the Varguil.
The reason the Moon Gundam costs that bit extra is because it came with it's own action base. You'll need to pick up one or steal the one from the Moon Gundam if you wanna display this kit like that. Can't wait for mine to arrive, it's been sitting in some post office in Japan with a ton of other kits I ordered that got stuck when they shut down shipping. :\
I'm pretty sure the fuel tanks being attached to the funnel rack is a bit of a "MacGuffin". In the manga, the pilot is so fed up with the funnels not working that he rips one of the racks off and throws it at an enemy. He ends up firing a shot at the fuel tank to cause an explosion and some heavy damage to them lol
Its a neat build and its look good for anyone who like to moon gundam but then again its a P-B. The Funnel design is kool but yeah those placement of the fuel tanks. I never notice the happy face gun till now.
7:57 The HD Builders Parts MS Hand (Zeon) set would look great on such a super detailed kit. Does Bandai still produce these though? Can anyone fill me in?
I would like to think the fuel tanks are connected to the funnels so they can be used more for a longer period of time before having to come back the main suit. It would make sense 🤷🏿♂️
I really wanted this kit to display next to the moon gundam and sazabi. The head sculpt doesn't really do it for me though. I might try scratch building again; it's been years since I've done more than paint.
you don't have to modify the funnels to put them on a stand. the action base 4&5 include a bunch of adapter parts that allow you to connect stuff like that to a stand.
Fun fact : the varguil is suppose to be a precursor of the sazabi the similarity is not a coincidence.

I love the new background, well not really new but its kind of refreshing to see a workspace instead of just a black or white.

As good as the Moon Gundam is, it already costs as much as a RG. The second I saw the p-bandai box I knew I wasn't going to buy it.

I just picked up the clear version at the Gundam Base at NYCC. I can't wait to work on it in the future.

This just came back in stock on p-Bandai and I can’t wait to build it. Now I have the prototype Nu and I’m gonna have the prototype Sazabi soon.

The fuel tanks are for the mobile suit to allow it to fly without waisting it's main fuel. After they run out of fuel, they are ejected.

I missed my chance to get this kit and the RG Tallgeese II when P-Bandai started selling kits in the US.
Only con I find is that this doesn't come with an action base 4 like the Moon Gundam.
Is the purple more similar with the leo space type or the kimaris vidar?
