Highly recommend starting your own gutter company. There is money to be made there. Is there anything else you have questions about? Any videos I can make specifically for you?
Interesting video. We’ve been contemplating adding gutters to our excavation business since most companies out here are booked up and customers are always asking if we know a gutter guy.
Hey, thank you! Flashing, every time we do a roof we replace the flashing. When we do gutters, Fascia is replaced on a "as needed basis". It really depends. We replace the fascia on average 5% of the time whenever we do a job.
Super interesting- just got a quote for gutters and got me thinking that I should start a gutter business..In Los Angeles I was just quoted $5600 for a single story ranch house with 5 smooth 2x3 downspouts, and two miters (gutter bends). That's $21.50 per LF for gutters and $528 per downspout, not including demo of existing gutters / haul away....think I'm just going to repair the gutters and put up the downspouts myself...
y'all live in a different world out there! We have some gutter launch clients in CA, and they simply have to charge more for tax and costs of living reasons. But we should absolutely get on a call!
I own a Gutter business here in New York and it is a great business and it’s very important to charge the correct prices because although you see 25,000 and a good week and I mean A good week, There are many many many hidden costs and expenses. Not to mention intense pressure to pay people more, Worker’s Compensation, general liability, gas repairs, tools, mistakes, and on and on and on the other thing to remember is Gutters are seasonal. I’m in New York and we work nine months out of the year the other three months are slow. all in all I highly recommended it changed my life but it’s not easy and don’t think it’s gonna be that easy to sell 25,000 a week. Compare estimates relentlessly and a lot of people. I apologize if I’m sounding negative because I’m not I’m very positive on the business it change my life, but please be aware that this is not for the squeamish! Lol
My man! Appreciate you sharing what you know. Very interesting business model for sure and something that I'm digging into further. Just a little feed back - try to remove the word alright when you speak 😊. Much respect brother!
Glad you are able to sell at those $16-17 per foot rates, (thinking i should consider moving) but top dollar in our area would translate to about $4 per foot for 5” k style seamless, and $7 for 6”. The prices you are charging are literally 2.5 x 3x the competitive rates currently.
Have to be careful sometimes if just adding a composite fascia to an existing board, to make sure you have the proper depth, so the shingles still have an overhang. No problems on the rakes, but behind the gutters get tricky
@@bigmacattk There was 1 x 6 wood fascia board. I just replaced it with the pvc board. My home has LP Smartside lap siding. I replaced all the trim boards with pvc boards a few years ago. I am replacing my gutters so I am continuing with the pvc boards. Roof pitch is 12:12. I am also replacing the drip edge. My soffit is 2" above the bottom of the fascia board so there shouldn't be any water migration from the bottom of the fascia board if water was to get on the face of the fascia board. I do like the pvc board. My trim is white so I didn't have to paint the pvc boards. Time will tell.
@_CowboyColin wow! Nice. I'm in minnesota and it gets so competitive in these new developments. There's guys out here charging 8 a foot and 6 on guards. I try to stay around $11 minimum. Wrapping up my first year with 0 experience and almost hit 100k a year by myself with 1 guy helping install. (On top of working full time at my job I'm trying to get out of)
Wow. That is great. I was a restaurant franchisee in multiple concepts for 20+ years and your model is very profitable. In todays world i have to ask this - how hard is it to get staff. I'm asking because after covid (atleast in the restaurant industry) its almost impossible. Thanks
If you can fix my business and grow my business, then I’ll believe it, but nobody yet is able to give me a loan to make my business go farther because nobody helps start up businesses, and I’ve been in business for five years, and literally without the business name, I do so much better with the business name. My business sucks.
I don’t know where you come up with these numbers, but they definitely scam and BS. There ain’t no way you’re making that kind of money and just the way that you broke it down is impossible that’s probably what you want to make but you’re not making that.
I have 7 years of gutter experience and I am thinking about starting my own gutter company. Your videos are helping me a lot. Thank you so much!!

Should've started your business 4 years ago
It’s never too late easy to start business depending on what state just look it up on UA-cam!

You could always become that gutter guy! The most daunting thing about it is taking that first step and committing.
@_CowboyColin SO true. I took that step and it's been worth it so far

Respect brother. Thank you for the tip. Im glad you found the video helpful!
Arent some things missing out of the costs of businesses like taxes, fuel, utility bills, health insurance, liability insurance, and others?

Would love to help you with that! We’ve got locations all across the US getting those prices. Leaf filter even sells at $60-100!
Where do taxes come out of? That 30% or off the profits?
Taxes come off of the sale, not the profit
What are your thoughts on replacing wood fascia board with pvc board?
Too weak, it will get very wavy
@@bigmacattk My roof framing has a sub fascia board ( 2 x 6 ) nailed to the rafter tails. I then fastened the PVC board to the sub fascia board.
That will work, as long as the wood is behind their to support it
