Another great example of what happens when property ends up in disuse and recovery is underway. A personal observation, you've gone beyond being a vlog I follow to a, "Don't miss the next adventure of the continuing saga when Robert saves a piece of bead board and rips out a wall with his bare hands and battery saw."
You cleared up a lot of questions in this video. When you told us the house was used for storage now it makes sense why it’s so full. All of our storage units look like this lol or at least mine does😊
Doing a good job. It just takes time. That bell i think was was for the phone. Uncle had one similar. Laughed when Blue checked what you had for breakfast!.....lol
Great progress! With the wall down you can really start to see the original floor plan and exactly as you said why things were arranged and designed as they were for comfort and best use. Blue surely wants to help; he is such a good dog. The Old Byrd House comes more to life every day, it's easy to see her beauty underneath it all. 👍👍❣
You had no control over what others had done in the past. I'm sorry that you have so much work to do to correct their "contributions" to the house. But, I am so incredibly pleased to see the amount of dedication to saving this ol' girl. She deserves the best. There is a gem under all that; God willing and Robert willing, that gem will be revealed and shine brightly in the end.

You never have tools or anything to start or able to complete a task. I love and wont stop watching. I binge watch for learning. I just see things I'd do differently. You do make me excersise my expressions and i see how to do things differently and more efficent. A woman in west central, Alabama, alone like you. Absolutly no Help.
Have you ever drawn a floor plan showing what you think the rooms looked like or what you are envisioning for your restorative renovation? Would love to see your ideas, ... lovin' the bead board and this large space is a dramatic and quite charming revelation! The house can breath again! My house was built in 1913 and we have a door bell with the same cover but the mechanism is all under the cover. It is LOUD! I disconnected it. I do not know if it was original to the house. You are doing remarkable work.
As someone who has restored a few cars I fully understand that there's a process of not getting ahead of yourself, working in sections is a way of not creating extra work. Speed isn't your friend in restoration projects, I think many people watch too many TV shows that don't show how big of a crew and how many hours of work that isn't filmed to restore something, this is the reality of basically one to two people doing a huge job in real time with a limited budget....well done Robert and friends.
What a difference taking out that wall made. The front entrance made a grand impression in its day and I know one day it will again. Good job Robert and thanks for allowing us to watch the transformation!
Edwards Nubel “Bell”. The company founded in 1900 and making “electric” door bells seems to be how they started. That design is still available today, but from an early comment on here, that has probably been in the house well before the 20’s
I am so glad to see that you are wearing good solid Work-Boots!---- I'm holding my tongue not about the previous owners but you working in that environment without a helmut AND not clearing the house out BETTER than you have to give you more space to work in. Ah, yes, it's like pulling out an impacted Wisdom tooth, pulling down that wall. Love that dog, Blue. Best little Buddy.
To clean the house out “better” than I have requires solid floor. Which is why I am doing this. At some point the folks at home are just going to have to trust the process.

Those ramshackle floors are enough to give a person nightmares! Looking forward to watching you get those fixed up. Like I said earlier GREAT job.

Wow, that was a chore where to step? Can't put a step ladder, use a milk box. Nice birds singing, chirping while you work. Balou staring into your eyes, wonder what he is thinking.
Looking good houses were made for the comfort of eating sleeping sand staying dry. They were designed for air flow as they built them. My great great grandpa built the family house and used the doors as drafts. He would close the French doors to the parlor and open the dinning room and receiving room doors and kitchen.. And grandma had a door ringer the electric came out 1900.and 1940 I'm proud of your work. Our house was all redwood built 1900 and still standing
Relatively new to your channel, have been trying to catch up. Love that you are restoring the house. Are you going to move in once it's done? My house was built in the 1930's by the Ford company, the estate was built to house not only the workers from the Ford factory but to house people from East London as part of a slum clearance. If only walls could talk. Stay safe, best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧

Call me weird..but give me a chair and I'll go thru that pile of what looks to be newspapers..and I be danged..that clock with the birds on it..One was given to me as a gift, after awhile it got annoying with all the bird sounds and it found itself out in the garbage lol..One yr when helping my neighbor with his old house we found the walls to be lined with newspapers..we almost never finished what we were doing for all the reading we were doing lol...Great job, and Hiiiiiiii Blue!!!
I really enjoy watching the Old Bird Farm house come back to life. Little by little she is showing you her true identity. Love what you have done so far, Robert! I'll be watching further updates
I love how blue stays by ur side all the time he loves you ur his daddy and it makes my heart Fill we with suck joy everytime I see blue near you that's unconditional love. ♾️🛐✝️♥️ Lol

I had to remove this wall to be able to redo the floor. The other plaster and wall rebuild was so important because it was rotted out that it took importance over everything else. As far as totally clearing out the house - you’ll just have to trust the process.
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG makes sense
You just demonstrated the true meaning of "sweat equity." Good job!

File cabinet, piano, old books, knickknacks--looks like you are about ready for a yard sale! (Doggy says "Whatever you do, however long you do it, it is fascinating!)
Love seeing the progress you have made on this beautiful old house.
blue was just adjusting focus
That’s right
Good progress today! 👍
I like the “Old Bird Clock” on the wall at the “Old Byrd Farm.” 🤣
Cool gym locker and all the treasures you may find in all those papers to have to go through! 🤪
God bless 🙏🏼🇺🇸
Thanks for explaining the condition of the house I’ve often wondered how it got in that shape. Way to go for taking on this gargantuan task.
