Wow! That seems like a major safety issue with just dying in the road. Hopefully this problem is under or will be under recall.
2022 model and it's already having to be towed. My 65' F100 is all original and has never left me stranded on the side of the road.

Wife’s 2024 Tahoe RST had its fuel pump module fail the other day on the interstate it’s still at the dealer
GM is making some brand killing decisions lately. Between this fiasco, and dropping support for Apple CarPlay, along with a lot of other stupidity, I won't even consider buying another GM product.

I haven't bought from GM in 40 years. Last one I drove was a new Malibu that I picked up as an airport rental last year. Impressive, in many wrong ways.

Surprised there wasn't a shift release under that panel. Everyone I have seen there is a Red strap you pull maybe it was tucked up there and you didn't see it.
That’s the very reason I don’t drive gm after 50 years anymore I switched to Nissan and am very well satisifed

The company failed the customer and the towing companies. Lol It was designed to be lit on fire on the side of the road. And I'm a Chevy guy. Ill stick with modern Toyota vehicles.

You always make it look easy. Wonder if you could store soapy water in one of those metal refillable non-aerosol spray cans that you air up form a normal air hose? Then at least it's a metal can that should take a bit of abuse.
the vehicle has power so it should be very quick to put it in neutral by turning the system on without depressing the brake pedal to start the vehicle.
This happened to me the other day and the car couldn’t be put in neutral even with the power still working. The manual neural switch/lever would work either.

If you get it replaced prior to a recall, will the car company reimburse the car owner for the tow and work done?
Not sure on that one. As far as I’m aware they don’t have a fix for it, and replace the part with the same defective parts.

The shift lock was behind that panel you were playing with. I just googled it
It wasn’t. Not all have the shift lock there.

Why couldn't you run your winch out to like a snatch block on the rear of bed then bring the cable back under to the front crossmember and pull it off that way? Just curious if its hard on equipment or vehicles doing that ?
Shaking and walking the car off the bed doesn’t hurt your equipment or the vehicle. As for your way you could there’s nothing that says you can’t but personally I prefer the way he’s doing it cause that’s the way I learned

Why didn’t you cut the car on and put it in neutral?
I going to take a wild guess that you didn’t even watch the video.
The release is there….you needed to take the panel completely off to see it. It’s a little trap that you have to pull. It’s hard to see without taking the panel door completely off.
I stopped buying GM products in 1986. They stopped caring about their products and so did I.
