- Doctors in the United States continue to perform medically unnecessary surgeries that can inflict permanent harm on intersex children. Despite decades of controversy over the procedures, doctors operate on children’s gonads, internal sex organs, and genitals when they are too young to participate in the decision, even though the surgeries could be safely deferred.
Stop this abuse of power!!!!! Let the individual decide. I wish made my own decision about my circumcision!
Circumcision is very different from being born with both male & female parts. I do agree with your stance however.

I wholeheartedly agree on this organization's stance. We should simply restrain ourselves from taking advantage of the most vulnerable. It's not different from companies encouraging underage alcohol consumption.
I find it dumb how people will say it’s mutilation to allow a adult to have bottom surgery then be fine with doing this to a intersex child, a adult can consent but a infant cannot consent to the surgery!
Why are they performing vaginoplasties on children if that procedure required dilation to keep the cavity open? Are there parents and doctors out there "dilating" their children's neovaginas? It's either that or they'll close up, making the procedure pointless.
Because it's easier to dig a hole, than build a pole.

Once done there is no going back Sorry. That is it you are stuck. Then you have 2 people who are suppose to tell you the truth. Yes your parents. However, they are told not to tell their siblings, parents your sibling no one, especially the person who had their genitals mutilated. I was told it was in my head my entire life. then when I was old enough to kill I was told the truth. I believe only because I had the ability to kill my parent, or maybe cause pain is the only reason they told me. However it was all blamed on the doctor. Now they seem to have amnesia. Yes because I am far away, they deny it again. So this tells me everyone in the world lies trust no one. Especially tour family.
I was not born intersex. I had a bad urinary tract infection. I was 3 years old in 1965, well before malpractice law suits, and this hack doctor disected me without anesthesia. They told my mom she'd have to keep it a secret - as if I wouldn't know! It was probably the worst thing that ever happened to my mom. She suffered with it her whole life an it was the last thing she talked about with me before she died. The doctor lied to her. He said he was going to catheterize me and keep me over night. What he did instead was disect me and tie strings to my urethra in what my pediatrician called the most bizarre surgery he'd ever seen. The doctor lost his license according to my mom. I always wondered growing up, was I the only person to have this experience.
@@VaetanThought Sorry, I've never used Twitter. As per what my mom told me and what I recall: I was 5th out of 6 kids and I wasn't getting diapers changed as should. That resulted in a nagging urinary infection which at one point got so bad my dick was all swollen and I couldn't pee. She took me to a doctor who was supposed to be some kind of specialist for that sort of thing - recommended by a friend. The doctor said he was going to catheterize me and I needed to stay over night. The part I remember was that I awoke and there were two nurses holding me down and I lurched forward and saw the doctor working between my legs and behind a sheet. There was blood on the sheet. One of the nurses put the heal of her hand into my mouth and told me to bite - "It's ok you can bite me." When I woke up the next day I had this net diaper thing and a ton of gauze packed in it where my dick was. My mom came and then quickly left the room. That was the saddest thing I ever experienced. The doctor had cut me like you would to clean a fish - lengthwise - and I had a large open wound with strings hanging out. The doctor told my mom she needed to pull on the strings several times a day to "stretch my urethra". He said things like "children don't feel pain as adults do" and "he won't remember when he's grown up". My mom took me to our pediatrician and he wrote to the Minnesota medical licensing board asking that the doctor who did it have his license revoked - that's what my mom told me. My pediatrician was Dr. Semch (sp?) from Orono. The doctor who did the thing was in Ridgedale I think. Mom wouldn't tell me his name. I think it took a year before I was healed. During puberty I had dreams about girls and they'd always be mixed up with the memory of the surgeries. I've always had excruciating separation anxiety. I feel so sorry for the kids who were intersex and wound up needing to portray themselves as a different sex because of one of these sick surgeries. I wished I could kill that doctor. I wished that could never happen again to anyone. It was like Nazi experimental surgery. Yeah they used to always have WWII movies on Sundays when I was a kid and I'd see this shit and the only thing I could think was that I was there. I relived it hundreds of times. Thank God I've found a woman and best friend and married and had children - that saved my life I swear!

Human Rights Watch is opposed to nonconsensual genital surgery. Surgery for trans people is only done when they have requested it.

What unbiased, scientific studies have said anything akin to the surgery being harmful, and why is this type of skilled and perfected surgery harmful over others? What minors are facing "an explosion of trans medicine"? What gives you the right to compare sex reassignment surgery to eugenics; what could possibly be your line of reasoning? When you make claims like this, it is your job to provide a source. There is nothing for anyone to talk about, because none of your claims hold any legitimacy, but you are the one who needs to provide sources if you plan to make such an erroneous claim which brings harm to an innocent and already-burdened group of people.
And if I may ask a final question, which could explain everything in one go, were you taught to think this way? You have options, and I do hope you can choose something other than the pursuit of the degradation of human beings.
