    Love this stretch of the river. We normally camp between Toc & Poverty point (picnic point is normally too busy). 🤠

    Always a pleasure to watch Amy, and another one here to grab a coffee and sit back and enjoy your latest instalment.
    A good insight into some of the mind games that we can play on ourselves. Glad you shared that part of the experience with us.
    Looking forward to more. 👍

    Great to wake up to this! Those noises…. Horses, deer, pigs? That’s one of my favourite parts of the river. Don’t remember all those snags though! Goodness how things change quickly. Looking forward to the future episodes that’s for sure! Been spending a bit of time in your state… stunning!

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  Рік тому

      Aw, thanks mate 💙 I thought later that those noises might have been a disgruntled brumby stamping his hoof... at the time I didn't know brumbys were in the forest. I hadn't even considered deer. Maybe. Who knows 🤷‍♀️
      Yep, that snaggy section was a complete surprise too... the river was very low at this time though, so it wouldn't have looked anywhere near as bad in a normal year. Lucky I scraped through with only a centimetre or 2 spare 😳

      @@AmyOutdoors yeah my heart was in my mouth. Deer scrape there antlers on trees to mark their territory, I’d bet too that there are deer in there, and plenty of brumbies for sure!

    Just what I needed with my morning coffee Amy. Looks like the river has dropped in S.A. I'm sure you had a blast exploring places that were previously unaccessable. Really happy to see the continuation of this trip

      So glad to hear that Greg, thanks 😊 More MRX on the way too!
      Yes river levels in SA are dropping really fast now! Can't wait till the power's that be decide its safe for us to go kayaking again... I'm itching to get out for a long paddle in SA again!

    Oh no, gotta watch those Yowie's! lol When the forest went silent, that is exactly what I would have been thinking was in those woods! haha! It is so funny how the mind works when a bit of fear enters the ole brain. lol Wonderful days on the river, thanks for sharing! :) :)

    Good to c u back I was born and bred on the Murray I to feel on edge camping by myself at night lol if you wear ear plugs at night those noises that bother you you won’t hear them and get a better nights sleep good video 👍👍👍

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  Рік тому

      Cheers mate 👍 yeah, normally I sleep fine through night noises, but this stretch really gave me the willies, lol. I can't sleep with ear plugs, but I've heard they do work well for those that can!

    Great to see the next MRX instalment, Amy! Looked like this section was a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions which is definitely all part of what makes it memorable, right? Powering on through the 500km mark and I'm really looking forward to the rest of it!

    Another great video! The banging noise you were describing could have been goats hitting their horns together. :0) That section with the fast water and narrow turning point is a bit disconcerting...from a rowing boat point of view... Thanks again.

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  Рік тому

      That's the narrowest it gets. A rear view mirror would be a good idea through there I think

    Just near Torrumbarry weir i heard the most horrific growling/screeching noises all night!Turns out i had camped near 2 koala bears territories
    got no sleep that night!
    I found that camping on NSW side (mainly private land) was a much better option,No hoons or many people at all and plenty of wood! especially as i got further past echuca

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  Рік тому

      Those koalas can make some very weird noises, that's for sure! I prefer to camp on crown land when possible, but I know what you mean!

    Can we do boating now

      The SA Murray River is currently restricted to paddlers and swimmers. This video was recorded in NSW/VIC in 2021.
