    Was surprised to see how little was flowing out of Yarrawonga weir...stark contrast to now hey. As always a super production Amy, some masterful cinematography & editing...

      I know, it's a stark contrast to what's coming down the river at the moment! That was the end of the last short drought, so not much water around then! Thanks again for following along Greg, always appreciate your comments and encouragement 💙

      Cheers Toby, yeah, it's odd seeing it so clean, slow and low, eh? It smells down here in SA too, but its cloudy like iced coffee from the Darling water pouring in.

    I really enjoyed your paddling down the Murray, the capture of reflections & time lapse of the stars.Makes a difference to Jim & Ted Baird whom I also follow. Looking forward to more awesome kayak adventures

      Thanks so much Henry, and thanks for checking out my channel! I've been a long time subscriber of both the Baird brothers too... and you'll never catch me doing anything near as hard core as them 😄.
      I look forward to having you follow along on future episodes, cheers 👍

    Hi Amy, great story on the river. I really like the way you shoot and talk. I enjoyed the beautiful bird sounds and the night sky in the southern hemisphere (we have a completely different view). David PT

    The creepy screeching at night might actually be owls. Had a barn own sitting on a gable of a house I was sleeping in whilst working on kangaroo Island and it was horrible! 🤣
    Another great episode 👌

      Oooh, yes, I hadn't considered it might have been an owl... good thought! They do make some weird noises. And thanks 😊, so glad to hear it was worth the wait!

    Well done Amy, I shall look at this tonight, with the extreme inland floods we have currently, your trip would be way too dangerous now, and for months to come, cheers, Paul

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      There's been a lot of hurdles for those trying to complete this trip over the last few years. A couple of lads that started a month or so ago have had to jump forward to the SA end for now and will need to come back to the top of the river at a later date. It's one of the risks you take planning and attempting such a long journey. Thanks for continuing to follow along Paul 😀 👍

    I've been planning this trip since 1988......still planning

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  2 роки тому

      It doesn't really need that much planning - just get out there and do it as soon as you safely can. It's worth it!

    • @keraptisblackrazor2658

      @@AmyOutdoors No doubt. It's the rest of my life that needs planning lol. Meanwhile I'm enjoying your journey.

    Great to see this episode come out as it was the one that we were talking about when we caught up. Lotta work gone into this one so well done on all the editing. Super job! How's your luck on that Friday night right at the end! Reminded me of a Friday night I had on the GSWW next to car campers at Battersbys with liquid-inspired singing (shouting) until about 3am. 😒

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Oh yeah, I remember you mentioning that in your gsww series... exactly, never fun times when verschnickered folks are nearby and you're out there alone! Thanks mate 👍

  • @jacqueline7118

    The last night is my biggest fear when camping solo. Could be that someone just wants to have a bit of fun and scare the ole gal camping alone and that is enough to discourage me. I do not fear screeching animals but do however sometimes fear people, especially if they are having a few drinks, they may do stuff that they normally wouldn't. :( :( Thanks for sharing! :) :)

    • @AmyOutdoors
      @AmyOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Yep, me too! It doesn't happen often, and so far so good, but it's never a nice situation to be in. The more often it happens the less afraid I feel, and it won't stop me going out, but you just never know who's going to come across you while you're out there alone - that's why I love the remote campsites best, not these frequented beaches.

    Hi Amy, just discovered your awesome channel. Can you tell me roughly how many kms you average when heading downstream?

    • @SmashTheAdventure
      @SmashTheAdventure Рік тому +1

      I think your 6kms an hour explanation covers my question. ❤

      @@SmashTheAdventure thanks for checking out my videos 😊
      Yep, speed will depend where on the Murray you are... upper reaches have faster current which slows down to very little current once you're in SA.
