You gotta comment on Jankos stepping up. When Rekkles joined the roster, Jankos said he thinks that G2 needs a new ingame lead and he will try his best to fill that role, even though it is not how he naturally behaves on the rift. This clip shows that he was the one trying to get everyone to focus, he was the one giving the calls, he stepped up big time for his team. All the love to the first blood king!
Also he's been the best performing player on the team by far. If they keep the same roster I think all of them have to take more responsibility and not just let Jankos have all the pressure on keeping everyone focused, he's trying so hard. Perkz was such a natural leader and so vocal in the team so it must been so strange to not have him there, it seemed to have shaken up the team overall.
@@aspannas I think jankos is used to it already which is quiet impressive, he was so diffrent than the spring at everything. I think he has atleast a good 2 splits more with g2.
Rekkles and Caps need to be Shotcallers in this team.With better target selection i think they are still best .

I absolutely loved Jankos this series, even this split. He’s shown to us that he has great mental & can boost morale. Here’s to seeing him in the next season, I just know he’s going to outperform so many people next year.

The ending is heartbreaking. Watching Rekkles at the end, saying nothing, trying is best but not being enough. He looks devastated.
He gave up on his team for 6 years to get on a so-called superteam to finally have his dream of winning worlds, and instead he doesn't make it to MSI nor Worlds at all... I'd be pretty depressed too.
Rekkles is a great player but not for g2, he's more in the mood of rouge than g2, he's the opposite of his nickname ...
You can tell by the way he talks even in game 1, his mental is in the dirt. Like yeah he tries to keep everyone focused and to not throw, but he doesnt do so confidently.
Unfortunately this exact thing is what Perkz was best at. Reckless is a great player, but he just isnt 1v9 capable (not that many/any adcs are). I'd love to see him succeed but G2 cant just coast through the season relying on their mechanical skill any more.

Like I told many ppl, g2 should let go of rekkles for the sake of both parties, g2 is better off without rekkles cuz of his playstyle and he is better in a rogue playstyle that’s fits him better too. It’s unfortunate that ppl still think that g2 should try to build around rekkles like fnatic 2018 when they literally brainwashed themselves to forget that g2 2019-2020 is the peak of Eu lol that has been played. Some rekkles fanboys are really just tunnel vishioned and still think that 2018 lol is the same as 2021 lol...

Yeah all of his lanes were behind to, there was nothing he could do. Even Bwipo said that.
With all the side lanes pushed in Caps was trying to make plays but with side lanes down made him a sitting duck, so there was little he could do also.
Yeah i saw old voice comms, perkz was often the one saying things like "focus up" or something. I feel like Jankos is trying his best to fulfill this role but sadly he's just not like perkz

I was so hyped for worlds since the start of the year and now that it's even gonna happen in Europe I can't even tell how much it broke my heart that we didn't make it. Idk what happened to us this year but I hope next year will be better. Love y'all and enjoy long vacation lol

Man, you can feel the pain in Rekkles' silence during the end of game 5. He knew from the start how mentally strong FNC was, how scary they can be, the people he laughed and cried with for 8 years came back for him to deny him Worlds. Not going to Worlds is one thing but not going because your former team eliminates you... It must be haunting. I'm a FNC fan but I feel so bad for Rekkles, hope he can make it next year and show everyone again that he is one of the best ADCs Europe has ever produced.
I like how Jankos tried to keep moral high. Always motivating. Seriously that man has stepped up since perkz left.
His Leadership was awesome. His Form was only pointing upwards. Still sad to see G2 miss worlds (unless they change something and we get a magical 4th slot).

I’m so incredibly sad as a G2 fan 🥺😭 I mean this season we just have to accept that the other teams were better. In this 5 game series FNC just was better. I love everyone on the roster, there was so much potential but we just couldn’t deliver. There is no way around it: This season was disaster. No MSI and no worlds. No team can win every title but this year was particularly hard as a fan but I’m pretty sure as a player as well. I’d like to thank everyone working at G2 and the players: Wunder, Jankos, Caps, Rekkles and Miky. You guys made it incredible satisfying being a G2 fan. To root for you, cheer you on and seeing all your smiles and fooling around makes me proud and happy to be a fan of this team. Thank you. We now just have to accept this season, learn from it and move on. I will always be a G2 fan and therefore I hope the guys can have a nice holiday and they won’t beat themselves up to an unhealthy point. Take a breath, and let’s come back again next year! I hope Jankos is doing alright. He is the mvp this split in my eyes. I honestly feel bad for Wunder though he was performing the worst on the roster, he was man enough to see his short comings. I don't want to see new main players of G2, but rather hoping for the current players improvement and maybe coaching staff adept in helping the players improve in lane and drafts that work in the meta instead of comfort picks, after all this is not Solo Queue.
no drafts were horrible in bo5's since spring. The coaches do a horrible job and probably are not respected enough to for instance force rekkles to pick kaisa instead of sivir

Mentality of Jankos is a must "We're still a team" simple words but big meaning fo them.
That fist thing and the support before every match "We're a team" is something new, maybe something related to subjacent problem that they worked during that week. It's sad that the team didn't succeed, but that is part of the profession, you can't always win, and if you do it's just a way to push other teams to work harder to beat you, and that happened during the last couple of years. I just hope all of them are ok, it's difficult to be the first and only for a long time and then rebuild yourself to defeat those whom were shaped by your victories. We as fans just could support the team through this new journey, that could take a lot of time or just a couple of seasons. Lots of love G2 ❤

Jankos giving the motivation even tho he was stressed is so awesome but why is no one talking about Rekkles telling them to keep their heads in game and have good mentality? Everyone did great and no one should be blamed, they tried their best, and it was great all the way through. A lot of other teams like T1 and FPX dont always qualify to Worlds. Next year is for sure yours Kings! Keep up the great work!

To be honest, It hursts me to admit that you weren't the best team this year, but it was fantastic to watch you play. Thank you very much G2, and I really hope to see you play together again soon. My message to all G2 players : please do not lose any confidence in yourself. On the contrary, even if you don't make worlds, it is undeniable that each one of you are all worldclass players. Every one of you just smurfed at some point, but you also had your quota of ints which costed you sadly a lot. Keep training, keep training together and we will see you come back even stronger than before. I'm disappointed that i can not cheer for your at worlds, but let's have faith in Rogue, Mad Lions and Fnatic to make Europe proud as you did previous years!

and Jankos, as he is a huge brand for the team and also performed really well this split.

I root for G2 not because of their logo or name, i root for them because i like players, each and every one of them. Loosing Perkz was sad, but because of that i started to watch the LCS ;p and Rekkles was always the legend to me, few years ago i used to main adc just because of Martin.
If whole roaster will be changed i think i'm gonna cheer for my boys wherever they'll go more than for new g2 without them.

No matter who you support in the G2 vs FNC war, you can always be certain of some bloody good games. Commiserations lads. You may not be going to Worlds this year, but the team is definitely coming together and you can obviously see how well Rekkles is fitting in. Not to be an armchair coach but Rekkles is a lot like me in that I gloss over the good shit I do and focus entirely too much on the times I've not stepped up or made a mistake, and that affects me in other things. I hope Rekkles can feel the love that we all have for him!

The people saying Rekkless is too serious or only acknowledging Jankos as a leader for keeping the team together is tragic. Rekkless literally kept the team focused on what needed to be done. You need someone like that on the team at all times no matter what. Don't talk about how you shouldn't blame someone on G2 and then call Rekkless boring and claim he doesn't fit in to G2. The hypocrisy is so cringe.

Fnatic fan here, as happy as I can be that my favorite team won, I'm really sad for G2, their second half of the split was really good and they were better than the first half and they truly deserve worlds but sadly there's only 3 spots this year, see you next year

A lot of (well deserved) love for Jankos, but don't forget the other guys. Caps really stepped up after thet 5 game losing streak, Miky had some absolutely golden moments, especially with Rakan in this series, Rekkles was absolutely steadfast on this roster. I dodn't think he had more than one "bad" game, and Wunder... well he had a bad split, but he has potential, and he had some incredible moments too. That outplay on Adam in the Camille-Darius matchup was incredible.
9:20 - Why did you not put Wunders reaction in there where he went for the darius after his tp.. actually would be very interested to see how he reacted cause this somehow was an example of his year so far..

Reckless sounded defeated after game 1, a game that they WON. He didnt speak with confidence, he spoke with worry and doubt. He seemed more like he was trying to convince himself than anything.
Just listen to the difference in how Jankos spoke, and Rekkless.
Unfortunately he is not a leader, but that is okay. You dont have to be a leader to be a great player.

It's interesting how Rekkles is so wary in the pre-match about what's coming and so not in tune with the team's mood. Not sure what to think about this, but for one he saw it coming.
