You should listen to the original... Just to understand how really amazing this is, how they made it their own and just how much thought went into making it their own... By far a musical masterpiece
To me, this is beyond a cappella music, it audio art!
The precision of breathing in sync, the lockstep of going from unison, to harmony, back to unison, to harmony, the arrangement where several points the baseline hangs on to notes for extended time while the other parts are coming in stages is so incredible, it just like having the most exquisite high end sweets you can buy. The ear candy this presentation provides is so remarkable that I can not think of another to compare it to. ❣
I grew up listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash & had their album with this song Helplessly Hoping. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. This song is full of alliterations. Home Free more than does justice to all the songs they cover. And this song is perfection to me with the 5 part harmonies. A true masterpiece! I can't say enough about how great these guys are & humble while still staying respectful to the original song.
A song from the 1960s. This absolutely beautiful version was Adam Chance's baby - he directed the video. One of their very best imo.

Ayo, I am sooo glad you got to this hidden gem of a song covered by Home Free....you're so right this is just one of many examples of how many genres and styles Home Free can perform and do so uniquely and beautifully...damn what a range of talent they have.
When that low end kicks in and just rounds everything out... Perfect. Great harmony showcase that really makes you appreciate how good all the components are. You’re too young to know CSN or CSNY but they were known for great harmonies.
HomeFree didn’t try to replicate the guitar from the original, and had an extra voice. I really like what they did here.
There is a nice audience cam from a HF performance at the Ryman, that’ll give you an indication what it would sound like live.
