I'm planning my first cruise on Royal Caribbean; my mother has cruised with them in the past as well as Celebrity and she preferred RC. It'll most likely be her last cruise as she'll be 81 when we go next year after my cousins wedding. Christmas 2024 my friend and I are going river cruising for a Christmas on the Rhine cruise and in April 2026 I'm going for a Mediterranean cruise out of Civitecchia port with Royal Caribbean for my birthday.
Once you reach 140 points in Crown and Anchor Society, you earn a crystal block from the ship you happen to be on at the time. You then earn a new block every 70 points you accrue thereafter. The block you get is from the ship you are on when you cross the point threshold.
I am a Diamond and on the next cruise move up to Diamond Plus. We have 7 cruises booked and always book a Jr Ste so we will be above 200 points soon. We quite buying the alcohol package because of the drink vouchers. Always among the first onboard too. Love the perks.
Thanks for sharing. We get most if not all of those benefits with NCL at the Sapphire level. We are getting 4 points per night on our next 21 day cruise. Should get us close to the next to the top level.
i met supermario on the enchantment of the seas and will follow his plan to retire at sea....fingers crossed. cant wait to move to the next crown and anchor level.
Did you say your Diamond on RC, how do you compare RC with other cruise lines Carnival, Princess, MSC? Are they pretty much the same. I've only cruised RC. So I also hear if you cruise solo in a suite you get 3 points per day vs 2 points in suite with others.
Before Covid a diamond member got 3 drinks on your room card to use any time of day and had unlimited drinks in the diamond club during happy hour. Now it is 5 drinks on the card and no happy hour.
If there is more than one person in a non-suite stateroom you get 1 point a night per person and 2 points as a sole occupant. If there is more than one person in a suite you get 2 points a night per person and 3 points as a sole occupant.
My kids just got grandfathered in to c&A Diamond since my wife and I already are. Will my kids get those free drink passes as well? (Non alcoholic of course) As of Feb 22 it is still 4 per day
Children "inherit" their parents' level. Our married daughter recently went on an Alaskan cruise with us and discovered she was Diamond Plus like us because on her last cruise she was a dependent and carried our status. Now she will always be Diamond Plus until she earns Pinnacle.
Not sure anyone works at "customer service". As Diamond members, RCCL totally botched our last cruise that we had to cancel and reschedule due to Covid. It was a simple process, cancel our February cruise, and put the credit toward our May cruise that was already booked, simple, right? It took roughly 12 e-mails from me, (none of them were answered) and at least 7 calls to customer service, to which no one could figure it out, plus an equal amount from my travel agent as well as hours and hours on hold trying to get them to fix a very simple issue. No one seemed to want to take the time to look into it, they just wanted to put you on hold, or transfer you to someone else. My travel agent spent 4 hrs. with them one day on the phone and they finally understood what we were trying to tell them. It took nearly 60 days for them to get it. I e-mailed RCCL to find out what the issue was so that we did not have it occur again, and despite multiple e-mails and phone calls, as well as a letter to corporate customer service regarding questions I have about the rewards program, we are on day 77 and still no response. So much for being a valued Diamond member.
The only thing I think you missed was the reciprocal benefits between RCCL and Celebrity brands. Since I'm Elite on Celebrity I get Diamond status on RCCL and vice versa. You also may mention the stockholder benefits of owning 100 shares each of the major cruise lines?
I am also elite on celebrity. I get to go on my second cruise with celebrity. The stockholder benefit is also a sweet way to enjoy $100 onboard credit for either Royal Caribbean or celebrity. Also celebrity offers Captain’s club activities to earn points outside of cruising, which is awesome since I cruise mostly with RCCL.
@@HowImDoingIt they offer powerups. Where they send out info about certain areas of cruising, or info about the cruise line and destinations then you answer questions to earn points
If 2 people are on cruise, do they get points separately or together. Example 15 day for 2 people. Will they get 15 points each/separately or 30 points as a single room for the points system and become platinum if this is their first cruise
Great video. A couple of questions. Are you charged tax and tips in those free drinks added to the Diamond pass? When you go to the Diamond club, are the snacks and drinks free? Thanks
You aren't charged any tax or tips on the free drinks They have hot and cold snacks in the Diamond Lounge I have been to a bunch of diamond lounges and the snacks are nothing to write home about You get the sense that they prepared a couple of hours before the lounge even opened until they've been sitting around and are not very fresh They may be well garnished but often things like the chicken skewers or the shrimp are obviously old and overcooked They will also usually lay out continental breakfast items and different snacks during the day They have a very nice espresso coffee machine
@@easysailing7130 I have gone to the diamond lounge where they have had a variety of chicken wings and those are pretty good as I have gotten them as they are bringing them out.
@@Mickiesfunadventures True If we are honest though, it's more likely the stuff is old and dried out I suspect they prepare everything before they open and keep it in heating unit. But it just doesn't hold up very well at all It's probably a pain but they need to do batch processing especially since that's for their most loyal customers
You completely skipped over the fact if you cruise solo in standard cabin you would get 2 points per night and if cruising solo in Junior Suite you get 3 points per night. If you are going to go into detail, you must provide all the detail and not 2/3 of it. Also, the Crystal Blocks start at 140 points and every 70 points after. The WIFI discount is either 2 days of Surf or $53 discount off Surf & Stream for DiamondPlus members.
I have 26 points and still in GOLD, and I have never been on anything less than a 7-day cruise, and they have one of them down as a 4-day cruise with four points. I called and told them about it, and they said their documentation showed a 4-day cruise and would not bend on it. I would never fly all the way to Miami from Boston for a lousy 4-day cruise. So, you'd better watch them, there are idiots working everywhere now.
Is Royal Caribbean going to create a level between Diamond Plus and Pinnacle? The difference between those two levels is tremendous, which is disappointing to those at the D+ level.
@@auntypjnpaul4115 The wifi to use the Royal Caribbean app is free and is pretty handy. If you want Internet, as far as I know the prices start about $20 per day per person and maybe per device. You can ask your travel agent for details on any cruise you book. Also, as Matt encourages, book your packages before you sail. Prices on board are never less expensive than what you can get pre-cruise.
Carnivals basic internet is cheaper than Royals anyway. On a 7-Day Carnival Cruise you can get the basic internet package for $45 or so. Which gives you most communication people need on social media. And then in port you just catch up on your emails Plus as I recall with platinum on Carnival you get three bags of laundry during the 7-Day sailing. I don't think Royal had that much laundry benefit Carnivals platinum and Diamond party is better too. Especially if you drink. Royals party is all about trying to push rum punch. Carnival's not shy about making sure people get strong cocktails of their choosing. As I mentioned with the takeaway of the unlimited happy hour, Carnival program is equal if not better with the laundry benefit Without the unlimited drinks a Diamond Lounge is kind of like whatever because the hors d'oeuvres are almost always old and overcooked. Dried up and of little value since it's dinner time anyway Royals laundry bags are so thin and flimsy (on purpose) you can hardly fit a couple pair of socks and underwear in them. I give the three bags of laundry are pretty high ranking on Carnival
Unfortunately, some of your information is incorrect. Junior suite only get 1 point per night of sailing. Sea pass cards are not colour coded to your stays level. Not sure where you got that. Junior suite an below get a blue card, suites on non royal class ships get a hold card, sky class get an purple sea pass cards and I believe the star class is a silvery blue colour.
I had 19 points and I went on a 14 night cruise SOLO and receive 56 points just for one sailing 😊 with the double points

Each person has 4 vouchers loaded per day that are Diamond.
