- I grew up 15 minutes from Lay Lake. That lake holds a lot of history both personally and in the fishing world. Lay Lake has hosted multiple professional-level tournaments many of which I was a spectator of. On the personal side, I cut my teeth on this lake. My first spotted bass was caught on Lay Lake. This tournament just has me in the mood to reminisce a bit but also chopping at the bit to get out there.

But dude, you and Jacob both know, yall want to be considered one of the best and to do that, you will need a Classic. Nothing against MLF, i like watching that style of format as well.. Yes, most fisherman know BASS, BPT, etc. But to the "Masses", The Classic is the only one people in general ever pay attention to. You both have won Redcrest. Now imagine your names going down in history as a Classic winner. Its so easy to compare. Just look at the Redcrest expo vs Classic this weekend. ZERO comparison.

There’s going to be a lot of 12-15 lb sacks of spotted bass. There are plenty of big spots in Lay… and plenty of them will be up shallow right now too. This will be a solid limit with a kicker or two gets it done event.
