Managed to get ours for £390 in the Uk. Love it and well thought out and easy to use. I have a gas hose connected so I can use a larger gas bottle. Cleaning is a pain in the arse. If at home I just boil the kettle and pour it over inner bowl and most of the grease goes straight out with a little wiping.
1/2 Expect the pressure regulator to fail. My 3 year old traveler which was used less than 3 dozen times has failed. It was only warranted for 2 years. I kept the thing in pristine condition and it looks virtually brand new still but Weber won't fix it even though the regulators were a known issue. I purchased 4 Weber grills for different applications and 3/4 had issues right out of the box. The Traveler was the only one that was perfect at it's new stage. Weber loves to replace defective parts with parts that are still defective. I continue to have warranty issues with all my grills such as with my 1 year old Weber Performer whose side table is rusting below the paint and turning from a grey color to a purple/blue because of the underlying rust. In some places the rust is completely through the paint and has turned brown. Like I said this affects the entire side table and looks rather horrible now. They're very poorly made BBQs in general
I do all the time. Like he said do not block the burners or the grease exit. it makes clean up so much easier.pretty much because I line it with foil the bottom cook box looks untounched
Thanks for reveiwing tom! Always love your vids. I am shopping for a portable solution for my parents. The cart option appeals to me and the weber quality of this one, even though the price is pretty hefty. I was just about to pull the trigger on one but then you showed me that it only has one burner. Hmm! Would you say this is a huge drawback in cooking considering the rest of the set up seems really high quality?
I think this would be a good grill for me living in a condo with a deck. I can store it inside in Winter quite easily. I would not be traveling with mine, but it would be a nice compact design for my space. I also like it as it is not too high for a very short person as I am. I would have liked two burners as I am a person alone and cooking mostly for one person. Does anyone know approximately, how long the small propane tanks will operate this unit?
Just bought one fr a vaca rental. Looking forward to getting it. Reviews are good. Cant the burner be designed to remove for cleaning? “Problem” solved if so. We refill our own 1 lb tanks. We have the standard Q by Weber. Almost 20 YO. Works perfect.
This week on the Weber website, they announced a smaller version of this, called the Traveler Compact. It's supposed to have about a 25% smaller width, making it easier to fit in the trunks of smaller cars. When it ships, can you review it?
What was the name of the citrus cleaner you use? Great review. Just got the hall pass to get one for a family outing last weekend. Burgers and dogs for 25 people, no problem. Totally agree on the need for an inner diaphragm to make cleaning easier. When you put the grill in the back of your car, it stinks!
Thanks for Watching Alan! That will all depend on what temp you where cooking at and especially if you leave the lid open, but I would say 30-60 minutes
Had a Q220. After a couple years the burner would only light about 2/3’s of the way around and the highest the flame would get was around 1/8”. Twice, weber sent me new burners and regulators. Didn’t fix. I even swapped out the hose that I was using for my 20 lb tank. Didn’t work. Ditched it and bought a “portable” Cuisinart grill. I hate it!! Yeah it folds up but it’s very cumbersome trying to load up and the the flare ups are insane. More than in enigma had the entire interior of the grill engulfed in flames. No matter how clean I keep it. I’ve never had that with any other grill I’ve owned. Long story short. I stumbled across this grill at Blaine’s Farm and fleet, and it literally checks every box. It’s just the wife and I and it will by our home grill and our camping grill. I’m really hesitant on buying it Simple’s because I see the same burner and I’m afraid I’ll end up with the same issue I did with my last weber. Still on the fence.
@@christopherdiaz1350I doubt it. Various tanks and multiple hoses. All screwed on right. I’ve had many gas grills over the years and the Q220 is in my top 2 of crappy grills. The Cuisinart Stainless “roll a way” is the other. Ver poor design and it’s a fire hazard. Bottom is too flat and too close to the grates. I’ve never had flare ups like this to the point the entire grill caught on fire. Luckily the Traveler has held up good so far I’m very impressed. Will show it to anyone that wants to look. 😂
Great Review Tom....but will you ever do a comparative review between The "Z" Grill 7052b & The Recteq Deluxe Bullseye RT-380X...since they are now so fairly close in Price and I like most of Us don't know which one to buy ?....and your Wisdom and expert comparative Review would be most appreciated by many of Us !!!
Thanks for watching Eric! Never thought of it since the Bullseye is so different and unique then any other pellet grill out there. It wouldn’t be apples to apples
I've had a STOK Gridiron Grill for years-Weber borrowed the collapsible design from STOK but the Weber looks to be a better quality...Only concern is these one burners run hot-I've added numerous vent holes and still runs hot
Well now I know why at least people say the Coleman road trip 285 replaces a Blackstone and it seems like it would also be the better alternative over the Weber too mostly. Does the Coleman roadtrip is smaller has three burners a grease tray underneath the burners so eazy clean up and is cheaper on the pockets can and it can do everything weber travaler can better
I’ve just been looking at one of these, but seems a bit pricey at $499 Cdn, however all bbqs seem to have skyrocketed in price over the last couple of years
I have 2 of these due to warranty. I dont recommend it. Only one burner no indirect cooking without some type of modification .Definitely not travel friendly . It's an odd packing shape and takes up too much room and weight in your vehicle for camping . Traveler should not be in its name and should be more of a stationary grill. It's too expensive for what it is, get a weber spirit over this thing. If you need a portable grill the weber go anywheres are a far better option. I have two of those (propane and charcoal) . Two of those are less than half the packing space of the traveler.
I just bought this grill and I find that I can't control the temperature. After starting the grill I put the lid down. No matter what temperature I set it to, it goes up to 450° and stays there until I open the lid. Then the temp goes down until the kids is down for awhile and the temp goes right back up. Nobody mentions this.
Doesn't everyone love are couple years of price increases? Lol I could use that grill when it's folded to move some DJ equipment on or beer? A friend? Lol. Its nifty! I need a peak a boo window on my ninja woodfire grill! 💥
I have 2 of these travelers because of the amazon warranty. They didn't want me to send the defective one back. The 1st one has a bullet sized protrusion that kept getting bigger with every cook. It is an excellent grill but this does not live up to its name. You expect it to be portable like for camping like i used it for. Too big for travel and the packing size and shape is odd . I bought 2 weber go anywhere charcoal and propane. Those little effers are bad ass. 2 of those takes less than half the space of 1 traveler . I do love the traveler but as a stationary grill especially for smaller homes like mine. Its is easy to move around but its definitely not for travel.
Well either you got lucky or I got unlucky . I set up a standard sized 20lb tank to mine (perhaps that’s the problem 🤷♂️) and the guy at the store said after I was having problems with it and was going to throw it through their window that you need to barely crack the tank on and feather it pain stakingly slow . Well that did work to raise temperature properly but after 2 years I’m thinking again throw it through their window again. Total piece of shit grill 😂
It's a total piece of trash grill. The regulator stopped working correctly after 5 months. Weber didn't honor the warranty. I will never buy another Weber product ever again.
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I've bought their products for a long time and I gave them the chance to make it right. They decided to alienate me over a $65 regulator. Just another greedy corporation that produces obsolescent products. The warranty on that grill is only 2Y because they expect it to break soon after.

I’m with you Tom. I wish Weber would produce a two burner, portable gas grill!
Thanks for watching Wayne! Appreciate the feedback
I love your knife and Tree! Lol Big daddy style 💥
Can I line the bottom (under the burners) with foil? (sorry if that's an obvious no-no, I'm new at this!) Thanks!
You can try as long as you aren’t impeding the burner and not blocking the grease drain

Hey TOM, quick question do you have any issues with the propane supply line. I’m having issues with the gas flow to my grill. Please let me know.
Thanks for Watching! Nope haven’t had any issues with the propane supply line
Can't we put aluminium foil in the bottom?
Thanks for Watching! Not recommended by Weber

Where did you get that gas adapter hose? I'm thinking of getting a 5lb propane tank for my Traveler. Thank you for the review!
Thanks for Watching! I believe it’s a Weber
Hi Tom, thanks for the great review. Quick question. Roughly how long does it need to cool down after a cook before it can be popped in the trunk?
Thanks for Watching Alan! That will all depend on what temp you where cooking at and especially if you leave the lid open, but I would say 30-60 minutes

@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ think I’m going to to do it. Stay tuned. 😂🤔
If the burner, regulator or hose didn't fix the problem then it's either your propane tank or the way you are connecting it.
