Best Tulip Photos In Amsterdam - Moments In Time Ep 8

  • It’s tulip photo mania in the Netherlands and in this episode we fly to Amsterdam to explore and photograph some of the largest tulip fields in the world with local Dutch Photographer Albert Dros. Albert and I share some of our best photography techniques while shooting in endless rows of beautiful multi-colored flowers. I even have the opportunity to chat with a local tulip grower about the impact of tourism on the health of both the flowers themselves and the tulip and bulb trade industry. An epic sunset along the rows of tulips rounds out an awesome day.
    Have you ever worn a Pikachu onesie? Well, it turns out that my friends and talented commercial photographers Richard Terborg and Adrian Sommeling had something devious planned for me when I decided to present them with a photography challenge in Amsterdam. Let’s just say that the results of me trying to be a model were hilarious, even without wearing the Pokemon costume.
    In this Moments in Time series, we take a journey around the world together, and share about photography, travel, people, food, experiences, and everything that happens between the frames I capture. Join our Moments in Time Flickr community for access to two exclusive mini episodes, and new episodes will be published here on UA-cam every Tuesday morning.

    It is another example of how tourists are blindly ruining it for others. Maybe it is just my age (60), but I have always tried to use common sense and not destroy the many places that I have been able to explore. I love the conversation about the tulips. One could study the history of tulip production and value for a long time as it was a valuable resource for the Dutch for so many centuries.

      David, it's because a composite picture can be shot with multiple settings. For each photo different exif info.
      I can tell you that I shot the photos of the composite with a 16-35 mm lens at 16mm and the portrait photo is shot with a 85mm Zeiss lens and I guess (as far as I can remember) with an aperture of 1.8 ;)

    Hi guys, if you were filming that tulip segment anywhere near Amsterdam and you were flying a drone without a permit (Which I doubt you'd get), you're doing some super super illegal things. Otherwise; Nice video!

    • @EliaLocardi
      @EliaLocardi  5 років тому

      Max Donkers we had permission directly from the farmer who owns the land.

    • @Top_Gun88
      @Top_Gun88 5 років тому

      Hi Elia! Unfortunately the farmer has no say in the matter in this regard. I'm afraid I can't find an English version, but here's the official Dutch map of no-fly zones: kadata.kadaster.nl/dronekaart/
      As you can see, Amsterdam and frankly, more than half of The Netherlands is designated "Verboden". That means strictly no flying at any altitude. This is because you might interfere with the approach sector of Schiphol airport (I know, you're never gonna hit anything at 30ft but dem's the rules).
      I don't wanna be that guy or rain on your parade, but you might want to add a disclaimer before people start using your tips and fly out with their own drones. There's fines up to 7800 Euro's (7500 USD)...
