Finally!!! 3 Doors Down is one of the best bands that alot of people haven't heard of! This is one of the best videos EVER! I think y'all would love Kryptonite and Not My Time. The video for Not My Time is literally like a mini movie.
I'm hoping they will do a lot more post-grunge that they haven't touched on yet... Seven Mary Three, Toadies, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, Fuel, Seether, Candlebox, Silverchair, Everclear, Trapt... so many good ones!
@@jennypenny I do too. I won tickets to see them off the radio. I was able to meet them after the show. They're some of the coolest and nicest guys I've ever met.
Definitely an under appreciated band. Hidden Gem Song: “This Time” I think is or was a hidden track on the CD… not sure if a video but should try it out!
Being the mother of a Marine Combat Vet, this song hits home hard! My son has lost more brothers to the mental state after they get out than he did while in Afghanistan or Iraq. It really is so very sad what these guys and gals go through and what they have to deal with! Prayers for all who serve and have served this country.
Thank your Son for his service! I grew up in a military family, and my dad and all 3 brothers served in the military and all of them did tours in Vietnam -- two of my brothers were in Vietnam at the same time. I also have cousins (both men and women) who were all deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. So I get it. I'm just glad they all came home alive. 💜
Great song, from 2002. One of their biggest, along with Krytonite and Here Without You. Agree, shoutout to Amber's brother.🤘 Brad Arnold on lead vocals.
Yes! 3 Doors Down! I still listen to them regularly! It's hard to believe twenty years have flown by! Other favorites to check out are "Kryptonite," "Here Without You," and "It's Not My Time." Enjoy!!
Jay! Thank you my Brother for the shout out to us who served and face mental health challenges. Your respect and appreciation of us and for us lifts my heart and brings comfort to this vet when I needed it today. You, good sir! Made this old vet smile through tears in my eyes. Love you both and thank you for being uplifting and positive! It's the reason I keep coming back even when I don't like the song you're covering. May you both have a blest day
This video always hits me hard because years ago during Desert Storm my brother was on the Aircraft carrier USS America stationed in the Persian Gulf. I hated not knowing when or if i would ever see him again. I was in the Air Force at that time, but my job was Computer weather support of the troops overseas, which i was able to do from a base in the U.S. But anyhow, military family reunion videos are always sure to make me extremely emotional. Btw, after finishing his 6 months in the Persian Gulf my brother returned home just fine, I just wish we could say that about everyone who was sent overseas.
I get really patriotic listening to this song specially watching the video, and like to see others reactions to the song. I lost my dad March 2003 in Iraq. I'm glad your brother returned home safe!
Jay already heard a song from NIN without knowing it. "Hurt". The song that Johnny Cash covered. It was at the beginning of this channel, without Amber.
Great song from a band straight out of Mississppi. I might have recommended that your first introduction to 3 Doors Down be their banger of a breakout single, "Kryptonite", but this is good two. It's worth noting that FOUR OF THEIR FIRST FIVE SINGLES all hit #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart between 2000 and 2002. You should also check out "Loser", "Duck and Run", and "It's Not My Time". The lead singer, who has been fronting the band for over 25 years, is Brad Arnold - the only member of the original lineup who's still with the band. Also - Amber, please introduce Jay to Nine Inch Nails. "Closer", "Head Like a Hole", "Only".... so many great songs. Trent Reznor is a musical genius.
Sorry Spirit Animal, I will respectfully disagree. I think this was a GREAT first introduction to 3 Doors Down. In fact, I love this song but not especially a fan of Kryptonite. Maybe that's because they played the hell out it when it first came out. 🤪 lol
I agree that they should go back to the one that kicked it off for them - “Kryptonite”. Then devour the rest of their catalog … 😉 Also a massive YES to Nine Inch Nails!!! I’ve been lucky to see them in concert twice. Closer, Head Like A Hole, Hand That Feeds, Only, and Every Day is Exactly the Same. Oh! They should then also check out the movie Wanted.
“Here without you”, “Not my Time”… many good choices from them. 3 doors down and Staind was a great concert. 2 of my favorite bands in college, but 3 Doors was my favorite.
Being a 20-year Navy veteran and enduring time away from family for months at a time, I shed a tear every time I see this video. Kudos to 3DD for taking the time to entertain the troops.
This was an anthem for everyone here in the states, to keep us thinking about all the men and women we had serving overseas. And it helped make their homecomings much warmer than vets getting back from Vietnam had to deal with.
Very underrated band!! One of my classic loves!! I would play this album on repeat!! They have a lot of bangers that I love! This is just one of them! Such an amazing experience to see Robs first listen to 3 Doors Down! It's an amazing feeling!
I am going to be 54 on August 2nd, i watch you guys all the time and i thought for a birthday present i could get you to do Shinedown's BURNING BRIGHT. Either way i love the two of you and seeing you react to the music i grew up on you are such a great couple
Hey guys I just wanna let yall know how much yall have helped my wife and I this year. We had a son right around the same time your newest addition was born. He was born with an auto immune disorder and had to have a bone marrow transplant about a month ago. We are finally close to getting him home. Any way your videos have always been a bright spot in our day. Thank you for your messages of love and hope. Keep doing what you do you have no idea how much you help people.
Was in the US Navy for 14 years and the USO shows were always the absolute best! Got to see SWV and Edwin McCain and Tyrese. Got to see plenty of comedians as well!
I saw them in concert in 2005 when I was 16. I had such a blast at the concert. My mom and I love them. Definitely one of my favorites by them. Such a strong message.
The thing I love about 3 Doors Down is that they are just a great straight forward rock band. No frills, not innovative, just good rock music. Sometimes simple is best.
Just got out of Detox 90 days ago. 90% were vets. Love them dudes. So glad they checked them self in. Peace and love to all vets.God is good God is great!!👍🏻👍🏻✌✌🙏🙏
❤️ Amber's shirt. Yes, "Here Without You" is similar, one of my favorite ballads. "Kryptonite" is such a cool beat and video. Another good veteran song Bret Michaels "All I Ever Needed (Iraq Footage)" or Sailor Jerri- Hallelujah "Veterans Version" cover. Awesome reaction guys.
Oh my! Amber loved when you were really getting into this and the look on J’s face really cracked me up! I’m right there with you , love this song and this band so many great songs
These guys are so cool!! This album was released in 2002. I was stationed in Bahrain and did security for them during their USO tour. Most of the video footage is from that tour. I put them on the transport out to the carrier in this video. Spent 3 days with them and they are incredibly down to earth and huge supporters of the military. Chris (guitarist) was in the Navy reserves when they got their record deal.
With Jay mentioning mental health and personal struggles, this might be a good time to suggest “How to Save a Life” by The Fray. Amber might know it from the same era but there’s definitely some major deep lyrics with that one that you would appreciate
Jay this is one of my all time fav groups. There are so many great songs. Let Me Be Myself, Kryptonite, Here Without You, It's Not My Time, Loser... To name a few. You'll love everything about this group I promise.
Finally! I’ve been requesting this specific song everywhere! So hyped-Please do their song “Here without you” next and then “Kryptonite.” 💜💙 For my brothers- both in their 40’s and 1 retired from Marines after 20+ years- the other is now teaching in the Army Reserve after 20+ years. Love my brothers sooo much! Experiencing those goodbyes before deploying ain’t easy!!
I forgot all about this song. I am so glad you reached to it. I wouldn't have ever listened to this song again. Makes me wonder how many other amazing songs I love that I have completely forgotten.
I come from a large military family . All of them were in the Shh too from WW2 to Vietnam to the Stan . This song makes me cry every time when I see the video together with the song and I'm 6'1" 245 solid muscle 53 years old . Love Love Love this song and this band . Thank you guys for the tribute to the troops and giving them a powerful anthem to hold on to out there .
Marine veteran here, thanks for the mental health mention. There is way too much of a stigma attached to mental health in general, but even more so for us veterans. The hardest part for us is admitting we need help. We're used to improvising, adapting, overcoming things at all odds...but once you are back home, you often feel alone with this battle having to deal by yourself. Then you add survivor guilt on top of missing the ones we lost, and it becomes unbearable at times.
Thank you for doing this song. For Soldiers,Vets and families THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. From one Mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece member. This song means so very much. GOD BLESS
Another (completely different) song entitled, "When I'm Gone," came out in the 60's and was written by folk singer Phil Ochs. At that time, he was considered a contemporary of Bob Dylan and put together an impressive catalog of songs. You can add to your "new artist" list by reacting to that song.
I'm continually impressed by y'all's positivity. Speak the good stuff into being! We're created in His image and the first thing (that we know of) that He did was to speak things into being. Smiles are worthwhile creations. 😀
-Bill Brockmann And, the Word that came out of His mouth became incarnate ( took on flesh ) in the womb of a young Jewish girl named Miriam ( Mary ), ever blessed and most pure Mother of God. " My soul magnifies ( praises ) the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my savior! " Mary's declaration to her cousin Elizabeth ( mother of John the Baptist ) when she visited her.
I believe they've done "It's Been Awhile" back in February. It would be nice to hear another... Maybe... a hard one like "For You" or softer ones like "So Far Away" or "Right Here"?
I served in the Navy for 11 years, and completed 6 deployments including 2 combat deployments, and I can tell you it sucks to watch your loved ones on the pier as the ship starts moving away to go out to sea for anywhere from 6 months to a year before you get to see them again, or they get to see you again, this is a small part of the sacrifices that our service members and their families make to keep us free.
@keithcharboneau3331, Thank you for your Service. My daddy did 1 tour in Korea and 2 in Vietnam. I didn't meet him until I was almost 2 years old. He retired after 30 years of service E-9 CSM. Miss him dearly.
Being a 'Brit' I first heard 'Kryptonite' in the early 2000's and wanted to know more and got into 3 Doors Down. I'm not really a 'rock' fan but I know what I like. My best friend who is a 'Rocker' found these 'too modern' for her taste LOL. (She is 7 years older than me and into Bon Jovi and Aerosmith etc). But I like them and have their albums. My favourites are 'Here without you' 'Kryptonite' this and many others.
I know Brad (lead singer). He’s an incredibly kind, soft spoken, & down to earth dude. One of the nicest people I know. Thanks for the reaction! I’m sure the band will think it’s cool. You should react to “Duck & Run” off of their “The Better Life” album. Think it’s right up Jays alley & “it’s not my time” & “Be Like That” are both musts & two of the songs that made them famous . 👍
That's awesome. I love the passion and depth of their music. I grew up listening to it, and it's still my favorite. Strikingly different from the sea of fake sounding, mass-produced songs that tend to be popular now. Tell them thank you for me.
Great band! formed in 96 from Mississippi. Need to check out Kryptonite, It’s Not My Time,Here Without You, and more. You also check out a band from Virginia,The Dave Matthews Band -The Song that Jane Likes,Crash into Me,Crush,I Did It,The Space Between,Ants Marching,Where are You Going.
I know you love guitar riffs. You should check out The Spin Doctors. I would start with Two Princes. Also Little Miss Can't Be Wrong and Pocket Full Of Kryptonite. I think you will love them.
Great band that’s been around for a while with a lot of good songs it’s like take your pick . My youngest son introduced me to their music and that was over twenty years ago .
3 Doors Down are great, I was in AIT at Fort Gordon GA back in 2002, they gave us a free concert and it was so unexpected. I am so grateful for them doing that.
What gets me the most is the video shows the troops getting cycled up for Desert Storm. I served in the Navy from 1984 to 1994. My ship deployed on average 200 days a year. I understand the rigors of life at sea and being at the tip of the spear. FC1, Mk. 86, Harpoon Systems. Now a Veteran with Services Related Disabilities rating. It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with the politics, the troops served. To those that never came home and those that did that were never the same again, GOD bless you all.
As a vet this hits home. Veteran suicide is 22 a day average. The sights and sounds just never stop for some of my fellow vets. Thank you for this reaction and the props to my fellow vets.
Great choice!! Landing in London with Bob Seger was one of 3 Doors Down best songs. Also the cover of In the Air Tonight that Brad Arnold and Chris Daughtry did is awesome.
I had the privilage of servicing one of the guitarist for this band for a couple years. Always struck me as a super down to earth dude. Only made my appreciation of the band grow.
Hey Jay! I never heard it either. Yeah. Understood. And they went off and did anyway. Great to be introduced to new good stuff. Thanks!! Make them vets smile!
Great choice Jay and Amber a BIG hug and thank you to ALL WHO HAVE SERVED. AND SERVE.. NEVER FORGET ... SOME GAVE ALL AND ALL GAVE SOME.. ❤️ We got this baby.. just another day at the office... Xox 🥰
This band got their start in the beach towns of my local area of Wildwood N.J.! they use to play all the big clubs here in summer! Along with a few other musicians!
This is my fav song by 3 doors down. They played this on a loop, along with Creed and others, on the radio when I was in high school! My daddy, y'all I miss him-he passed in 2015, he only liked new country, and like Johnny, Hank, Willy and Waylon, etc. and I could never get him to indulge in my genres, piano rock bands like The Fray and The Script( which y'all should play, I've only been asking for a year, lol! And Jay, ik you love your piano, j/s) And also, alternative rock this, Creed and like Linkin Park), and out of all, he really LOVED THREE DOORS DOWN! So, ty! Much ♡ omg, scrolling through comments, their song, If I could be like that should be next, then Kryptonite! I can't think as quickly, lol!

3 Doors Down is a great band and the lead singer has an amazing voice! They have a lot of awesome songs! Great reaction!
The combo of this song and the video always makes me even more patriotic then usual. 🇺🇸
Extremely underrated band under appreciated
Awesome band ♥️ another great song Here Without You ! Just love 💕 these guy’s
I love 3 Door Down. If you haven’t yet, check out Fuel & Puddle Of Mudd.
Theses aren’t hard rock but good music! … Mumford & Sons and F.U.N.
I second Puddle of Mudd "She hates me" is a great song.
Puddle Of Mudd - She Hates Me (Official Video)

Love 3 Doors Down.
I know you love guitar riffs. You should check out The Spin Doctors. I would start with Two Princes. Also Little Miss Can't Be Wrong and Pocket Full Of Kryptonite. I think you will love them.
Jordan Nine Inch Nails member Trent Reznor wrote and his band originally recorded Hurt which Johnny Cash recorded and you reacted to
A song like this that you’d love is Fuel- Hemorrhage in my hands or Hoobastank-Crawling in the Dark
Great band that’s been around for a while with a lot of good songs it’s like take your pick . My youngest son introduced me to their music and that was over twenty years ago .
Great song! You should check out Seether with Amy Lee of Evanescence "Broken". Alot of good bands from that era!
3 Doors Down are great, I was in AIT at Fort Gordon GA back in 2002, they gave us a free concert and it was so unexpected. I am so grateful for them doing that.
You guys should do Cumbersome by Seven Mary Three. I have a feeling you guys will love it
What gets me the most is the video shows the troops getting cycled up for Desert Storm.
You need to do Kryptonite next!!!
As a vet this hits home. Veteran suicide is 22 a day average. The sights and sounds just never stop for some of my fellow vets. Thank you for this reaction and the props to my fellow vets.
I absolutely love her! Her knowing the song and seeing his reaction, priceless!!

I love me Some 3 Doors Down.....one of my fav modern rock bands!!!!! Love this song, too!!!!
Great choice!! Landing in London with Bob Seger was one of 3 Doors Down best songs. Also the cover of In the Air Tonight that Brad Arnold and Chris Daughtry did is awesome.
Such a great band from the deep soutjh in Mississippi that always had a great understanding of America and the people in it.
Such a underated band! Love them
I absolutely love this song. Another favourite of mine.
I had the privilage of servicing one of the guitarist for this band for a couple years. Always struck me as a super down to earth dude. Only made my appreciation of the band grow.
🤨

YES!!! FINALLY!!! The channel needs more 3 Doors Down! Kryptonite, Be Like That, Away from the Sun, It’s Not My Time, Loser, Let Me Go, etc.
