  • Hey everyone, welcome back! On this episode we will be repurposing an old snowblower into a motorized trailer dolly. I know this may sound like a weird project and it definitely is but I think it will save you some money if you ever find yourself in a situation like me. While there are other options they cost six to seven times what I built this for! If you’re new here I’m James and if you enjoy this video please hit that like button and subscribe for more content!

Need the ball close or over the drive wheels. Thanks for video and nice work.

Yea I agree there's definitely some tweaks that could be made.

Steering was probably difficult because your "swivel" point on the dolly was your front tire. If it was reversed (fixed drive wheel in front, swivel wheel in back) , it would have been easier to turn the unit.

I agree with that, the live axle would’ve made that difficult too though I think.

I've built something similiar to move non-running cars around, which was a golfcar rearaxle I added a winch motor to. Simple. However, for a trailer I just used a riding mower, you can find them that need work for almost free (mine was free..needed new carb). It didn't work in the mud though, just spun the little tires.

I’ve used a riding mower as well, when I built this I needed it to be easier to transport. Appreciate the support!

I'm sure plenty of people are going to find this very helpful. I'm sure it would have been helpful to make those square plates on a cnc table too....

We will have to do a collab and build something on the table!

if you were just putting it at the end of the drive why not just back it up with the vehicle???

Sometimes the vehicle is too large to get it in the spot people want the trailer for there party

I appreciate the fact that you can still use the snowblower if you wanted to.
I'm very impressed with your fabrication, and sharing you knowledge of welding thick and thin metal by favoring the thick side.

your drive was a very steep incline, using your truck to get it out. Like the idea of a snow blower, thinking trailer valet but cost is high. do you or have you ever tried this on a slight incline 12-4 pitch.

It definitely will not work on any kid of an incline which is kind of a bummer
