    Morning, you could use lawn tractor tires on the back to help with traction. I use a small lawn tractor to move my trailers around in my yard, an ideal that may help. Hope you have a good day and stay safe.

    Use the remote. Make both tires welded to the axle. Also make sure the chain is tight or it will skip going up hills. I love it. I need to get off my ass and make my version 2.

    Great idea using a winch for a motor. For traction use snow blower tires.

    You need more weight on there in order for to get more grip in the gravel so build like a seat that way you can put your body weight on it and it'll move a lot easier then when you need to steer you can turn your handle around and steer

  • @murraymadness4674

    You can simply use bigger wheels, no reason to use $5.99 harbor fright wheels, use some 13in car wheels. I suggest getting an old riding mower and strip it down, there is another guy who did that and it works great. You can get blown motor riding mowers for free or close to it.

  • @indianalotteryscratcher3286

    Man I wish I could head and get that bomb too or have my boat redone by you guys but I'm handicap and it's hard for me to get in and out of my boat I have a 16 ft aluminum bass boat it's hard for me to load unload by myself I was in a car accident in 2019 left me handicap you guys do great work and I've learned a lot from your Channel thank you for posting

    Awesome. Change your switch out to a double pole double throw switch that is on-off-on. Easy to wire. Add some water to the wheels for more weight and traction. And use both wheels as drive wheels. But may make steering harder.

    • @lugnutzz75
      @lugnutzz75 Рік тому

      Also can fill frame with bb’s/lead/ etc for weight. Small tires are gonna sink in soft ground anyway regardless of what you use.

  • @TedSeeber
    @TedSeeber Рік тому +1

    I wouldn't have even bothered with trying to drive the wheels. Just pound in a few strategically placed fenceposts and use the winch as a winch!

    • @pakde8002
      @pakde8002 Рік тому

      Yes that's probably what I would do too (because there's no way I could build this) but you've gotta admit the motorized dolly is pretty freakin cool. Also it's going to get complicated trying to move out of the shop then park it in another location when you need to get the truck in and out of the shop.

    The one I built performed better on heavier boats. On smaller boats it couldn't get enough traction. I thought about redesigning it with a small tractor seat.

    • @TinyBoatNation

    16:57 I thought you built it that way so you could either steer while standing and walking or add more weight over the tires and steer while you stand on it. Then you said it was for storage and I was like yeah that works to lol
    Could add some foot pads and say it was supposed to be like that. More weight= better traction
    Also my atv and dirtbike days say add a chain tensioner and thoughts on shroud when the Chain does come off they are more of a pain than they are worth

      @@scott.wallace8625 how about knobby tires or tractor tires like on a big Troy built tiller? Actually I made something similar to this with my Troy built to haul my jon boat and canoe to the lakes and river in my property. It was a big property with lots of gravel holes but the paths were made so a truck couldn't get in there (intentionally done to keep the riff raff out as they'd just cut a chain or knock down a gate.) Also pulled logs out of the swamp with it. Very versatile as you could drop the tiller and attach a hitch and it had reverse and two forward speeds with a 15 HP Kohler. Best tool I ever owned.
