Nice simple video. So you talked about the base curve of the lens, but do the frames themselves also have a base curve? For instance, can a frame that is completely flat have lens with base curve 2, 4 or 8?

Thanks for explaining. I have a 4 BC and the lap always thinks I’m crazy. But if not close to Vision is not clear.

Do you happen to know the Base Curve of the Wiley X "Roamer" (first generation I believe. Maybe I have the Roamer II. I don't remember) sunglasses? I Have an RX in them but it's old. My new RX has gone way up. It's a +11.25 OD and +7.25 OS. I'd like to reuse the frames if possible.

Hi Joe! The Wiley X Romer has an 8 base curve to which your Rx strength is unfortunately out of range. The best chance of success would be with a frame that uses an insert like the Rudy Project Exception...

Is there a standard set of base curves in the industry? (i.e 2, 4, 6, 8)

This may be an odd question.
I purchased a pair of Oakley Coldfuse the other day. The lens is etched with the prizm stamp on it. They are not polarized. There was a sticker on them that had a check in front of the RX symbol. Does this mean I am able to get a prescription lens for this pair of sunglasses?
Also if I am able to get a prescription lens for them, who makes the lens, meaning is it Oakley or whatever manufacture the optometrist uses? And will the quality be like Oakley lenses? I’m really confused by sunglasses that are RX ready and the quality of lenses especially how this process works.

Hey GandyMan! Yes the Oakley Coldfuse is available for prescription at SportRx in EITHER Oakley Authentic Lenses or our SportRx Custom Lenses. If you already own the frame no worries, we can do a lens only order! For a lens only order, give us a call at 888.831.5817 to speak to one of our certified opticians!

Hi Tyler, I want to know how can I determine the radius of a lens by having a base curve number, for example I have a cr-39 sunlens with a 6c base and I need to know its radius, but I can not find any answer . thank you

Hi Javad! The radius is hard to find on something that isn't a perfect circle or perfectly symmetrical shape. The base curve on the lens wouldn't affect the radius. It would also depend on the frame. This is the first time we've gotten this questions, so we're wondering if you are maybe trying to ask a different question? Try calling our opticians; they would love to help! You can reach them at 877-789-3633
