First time I ever saw Rockapella was back in 1997 at Molalla High School. One of Kevin Wright’s first performances with them. They introduced this song by saying their lives had changed for the better since they met him and that was his first soli performance. This song and Rockapella’s music have helped me so much. Thank you!
Kevin Wright & I were "Cornelius & Barnaby" in HELLO,DOLLY, "Joseph & Potiphar" in JOSEPH,"Huck & The Duke" in BIG RIVER and he even played my son in LA CAGE all at Maine State Music Theatre back i the 90's. He's a major talent & a sweetheart. Incidentally, he's the brother of Gary Wright, who had big sellers in the '80s's like DREAM WEAVER! Runs in the family! John-Charles Kelly
ill never ever forget this song my lovely fiance sung this song to me when he proposed to m e it was so magical i love this song and i will sing this song at our wedding i love you sweet heart x
The amazing things people can do just by singing a cappella. I understand that autotune is really prominent nowadays. But this is real singing, not computer generated weirdo-sounds. :]
This is why a cappalla is my favorite type of singing. Without instruments or post production to lean on, it exposes how musical the group really is, for better or worse.
Sure they'd own "The Voice", but check out "The Sing-Off". It's a show just for a capella groups and some seasons I'm not even sure these guys would have made the finals, they certainly wouldn't have beaten winners like Home Free and Pentatonix.
this song has the ability to change lives. needed a solid ending on it tho for sure. You cant just fade that out, its just to powerful. It deserved to end with that same type of power.
That's actually not the case. It was written by Billy Straus, a friend of Rockapella's former lead Sean Altman, and he wrote it for Rockapella to sing. The Persuasions simply did their own version.
@@MusicMan922 Yep. The song was originally recorded by Rockapella in 1992, and was featured in the movie "Leap of Faith." The Persuasions' version was released in 1996.
I fell in love with this song on the Leap of Faith soundtrack, but I love this version even more!!!
Me too!
I often love covers more than the original because it forces you to hear it a different way. That's even more true for a Capella arrangements.
A Capella at its finest 🤩
Been Lonely, Been Cheated and Missunderstood. This song is meaningful and powerfull is a call out for help and justice to our father.
I think it was referring to a husband or wife, but I see your point

Is this Molalla OR? (As if there could be another!) I'm from Mill City! (See Comment, above)

Very powerful song.
Love this!❤❤❤

my faith is shaky and I lost my will to live last night but, this song always helps
You commented this many years ago, and I hope you're doing well today. God bless
Doing better in some areas
this is easily the greatest song they do, I love their stuff, but this floors me
By far their best. Love this song.
Love these guys. Haven't heard from them in ages!
I fell in love with this song and have seen Rockapella a couple of times in concert. LOVE!!!
Kevin has such a beautiful voice. He was coming straight off Broadway when he joined the group. Such an amazing voice, and an amazing guy!
They all have such amazing voices. So good.
most underrated video ever =(
Kevin has such a beautiful voice. Wish he had a solo CD or two out there.

So in a way, the words of the song prophetic... leaving the group much be such a change in their lives when they do
Rockapella is good
i remember watching where in the world is carmen sandiego when they were on it, these guys sound so good together
the best!
Omg good job man !!!😘😘

best band ever!

great..
The bass is a beast
If these guys ever get on that show, "The Voice", they'd take it hands down\
look them up...been around for a LONG time and are better than "The Voice"
Sure they'd own "The Voice", but check out "The Sing-Off". It's a show just for a capella groups and some seasons I'm not even sure these guys would have made the finals, they certainly wouldn't have beaten winners like Home Free and Pentatonix.
Josh Jahncke uh, i think they would
Pentatonix is not better than these guys
This is the story of my life!
amo essa musica
This song is so good, but my favorite version is older, from the Carmen San Diego group. The From New York album.
I do wish had a chance to hear him sing live. Just one. Chance .....

I hear ya. Do you think a plagal cadence is too cliche here XD?
Wow he really good
2022 checking in!
Yes Scott is still with Rockapella.
As well as Jeff
Thank you!! Also I think you should tag Kevin Wright, who is the lead here. I love his voice!
@cenajohnlover I agree with you, but I still like this one too.
I miss Kevin allready.....Rockapella will miss his sweet voice as well...the new guy...does nothing for me or the group.
@peagravel Yes, his name is Kevin Wright, I believe. He's no longer a part of Rockapella unfortunately.
What's the name of the lead singer? He's great
for the very first few seconds i saw the singer, i thought i saw Rob Schneider
His name is Kevin Wright- unfortunatly he's no longer in the group since late 2010
i have the mp3 of this if case anyone wants it.
I liked it better when Sean sang it.
+Bdrop34 James shew lol...my opinion is Kevin kills it alot more live than sean.
@@jdwylde7 Yeah Kevin has such a sweet voice and image to him. I do prefer him to Sean.
However, looking at the date, 1997, he was new to the group then, so joining the group was the change in his life at that time...
Omg why does this song remind me of a Michael Jackson song :))))))
Fantastic video! Who wrote this song?
A guy named Billy Straus, who is a friend of Rockapella's former lead Sean Altman.
Is the original song?
Is Scott with Rockapella?
I love Hanson singing this more...
sorry I meant late 2009.
I just thought "should I listen to Batter Up by Nelly or this"...
Carmen SanDiego disliked this video 3 times.
yeah I actually think I like Hanson's cover better! :P
sounds like Back Street Boys to me :S
too bad BSB prob. took some of their inspiration from these guys..smh
Holy crap. Has anyone heard Hanson' s version of this, though? ua-cam.com/video/vDSYgRDLce0/v-deo.html&spfreload=1 Dang!
@@hansonland3350 wow that's awful 😖
Oh yeah, I could use it...lost my copy
They stole this from The Persuasions, and don't do it anyway near as well

Love the song...hate the video.
