Eric is right, there is a Barry who grew up with both parents and became the Flash. This would be considered timeline 0 because we never actually see it. The timeline the show starts with is with Thawne going back in time to kill Barry’s Mother.

I'm confused as well, I thought future Barry stopped season 1 Barry from saving his mum because this is how things are meant to be. Bhlack Bishop The timeline can never go back to the way it initially was. This was one of the conversations that Jay Garrick and Barry had with the coffee cup. Also we have to remember that Nora being killed wasn’t the only thing that changed. The real Harrison Wells was killed along with his wife. The particle accelerator happens much sooner than it happened in the Original Timeline.
This episode just proved why I love The Flash. When it’s good, it’s REALLY good.
Seeing Tom Cavanagh as Reverse Flash is just the best, as well as both Teddy Sears and Tony Todd as Zoom. And I’m gonna say it I even enjoyed seeing Savitar, he was cool

Eric is right. WATCH SEASON 1 OF THE FLASH AGAIN AARON. In the original timeline BARRY became the FLASH later in his life. Thawne killed Barry's mom so Barry don't become the flash but he lost the ability to time travel so he made the particle accelerator so Barry can become the Flash earlier. Basically the show that we are watching is the result of Eobard Thawne's failure.
Btw I think that the Wells in prison is the Reverse Flash from the crossover.
Timeline 0, Barry becomes the Flash later in life (with no tragedy in the beginning) which results in an arch nemesis relationship with Thawne. Thawne is made aware of Dawn and Don West-Allen. Thawne then decides to undo Flash by going back in time to kill Nora Allen which creates the Flash of season 1 (timeline 1): being trapped and jump-starting Flash earlier in order to get home to timeline 0. Flashpoint then affects the future of timeline 0 by creating Savitar and Dawn becomes Nora West-Allen and timeline 1 becomes timeline 2 for post-season 3. And then Nora West-Allen’s future is timeline 2 becomes malleable due to her coming back from the future and creating fluid timeline 3 which is new Cicada.

Well caused since the timeflow is already in Timeline 1 but Barry goes back in time to save his mom from being killed hence creating Flashpoint timeline where both his parents are alive... thus this mirrors Timeline 0 but its not Timeline 0.

Actually Thawne's plan was to kill barry so the flash would be erased from existence but future barry saved kid barry and Thawne got mad and he killed Barry's mom
Don't forget that Diggle once had baby Sara and Barry screwed it up and now he has a son John Jr. . So maybe he had the Tornado Twins first and when he changed things he only had Nora instead.

Seriously congrats to the cast and crew on making it to 100, that in itself is a massive achievement. But I really can't praise Tom Cavanaugh enough this episode. Not only did he basically co-star in this episode as essentially 5 different versions of Wells, he directed it. The guy is an absolute machine.

He was great honestly he must of went back and rewatched episodes of the flash to make sure everything was perfect and made sense I loved it when they went back to when season 2 Barry time traveled and seeing season 1 Barry knocked out in the ally was cool as well
In the original timeline
Barry became flash in 2020
And reverse flash was his archenemy
OG RF Travelled back in time and killed barry's mother erasing the OG BARRY(2020) because barry never became flash OG RF never happened thus he lost his speed and got stuck in that era . So OG RF has to create Flash in 2013 and not in 2020 so that he can become reverse flash again

In regards to Zooms encounter with the Time Wraith, it could be that he managed to shake it off and return unscathed to his place in the timeline. A neat thing I noticed is that this encounter explains why hes so terrified of the Time Wraiths that Flash brought to their fight at the end of Season 2.
I just realised both times “Wells” says “Clever girl” in this episode, it’s after Nora claims that something Thawne has come up with was her own idea!

While the comment, "at least you still have one" could be in relation to having one Nora, it seems very likely given the fact that he mistook her for a dawn, that he meant at least you have one of the twins.
Also, Eric is right about the fact that this reverse flash came from the original timeline, the one that decided to go back in time and killed Barry's mother to change Barry's future. So this version of thawn remembers the tornado Twins and that's why he assumed Nora was Dawn.

It’s definitely referring to having one Nora, trying to trigger Barry since he killed his mom. When he said “Dawn” he’s talking about what the real Barry’s kid was named until he(Thawne) killed Barry’s mom and changed everything

Yes he is right, in the original timeline Barry actually has two kids which is his son and daughter, “Don and Dawn Allen” but that’s not what Thawne actually meant when he said at least you have one “Nora”
I think they are both right. The crack on Thawne made seemed like it was a double meaning as to Thawne both alluding to Barry having a Nora still after he killed Barry’s mother while being a cute nod to the Tornado Twins and how time changed so much that Barry lost a kid (Don).

To be fair, the arrowverse has done it both ways. There's the time loop with Savitar, but there's also the "malleable" time line with Reverse Flash. So both types of time travel are possible

I'm still not convinced that Sherloque is Reverse Flash. That "clever girl" line might be an attribute of all versions of Wells. It's worth remembering that when Eobard took on Harrison Wells' appearance that he also took on certain aspects of Harrison's personality. It even looks like 2049 Eobard, having worn Harrison's face so many times, is staring to develop physical side effects of that appearance shifting process.

Harrison wells is definitely just being a good detective and that scene with Nora shows his ongoing suspicions. He'll probably be the one to make Nora spill the beans on what her true plans are

Season 2 and 3 still hold a special place in my heart because when I was in college I watched the show before going to class in the afternoon. At the end of Season 3 I was already graduating from college. And I kinda miss my classmates. I guess you can say season 2 and 3 remind me all the good times I had in college with my classmates. After finishing college I started watching a lot of anime show because I discovered this channel blind wave.

In season two it was more taxing on Cisco to breach on the same earth , easier to another earth.
When Eobard Wells says "Atleast you still have one" (regarding Nora), he is referencing his mother who was also named Nora who was killed by the Reverse Flash. And since this Thawne is from the OG timeline where the OG Barry Allen gets his powers in 2020 rather than 2014, he technically only would know about the details on the OG timeline where Iris and Barry name one child, Dawn as his mother hasnt died tragically and is a nod to its comical counterpart but in the current timeline that we know, her name is Nora as the "show's commemoration" (Helbing) and also both Barry and Iris to Barry's mother.
Cisco used the breaching device to send the dagger to space. You can see him holding it in his right hand after the breach closes and then he puts it into a vest pocket and zips the pocket up.
We finely got Teddy Sears Zoom to return for a cameo, but all I want is for Eric Whitely Zoom to make an appearance 😢

I didn’t notice this before but, when both thawne and Sherlock both said clever girl to Nora, they might be the same person and when Sherlock came Nora already knew him from the future, tried to trust him, and then he read her diary, so that is my theory.

The title of this episode, "Past is prologue" is actually a quote from Shakespeare from his play "The Tempest". That's the same play that is shown in Life is Strange: Before The Storm.
I would like to point out Nora runs so fast that she actually forces the Time wraith back in time as well. that is scary fast. Also totally called the ending reveal back in like episode 2.
I love that the 100th episode was directed by Tom Cavanaugh. Loved the episode and great reaction guys!
Both of you make very valid points about the timeline. But I have to agree with Eric. The most damning piece of evidence that support's Eric's theory, is the fact that in Season 1 (during a flashback), we see Matt Letscher's Eobard Thawne killing Earth-1 Harrison Wells and stealing his identity. During this time, he mentions that _originally_ Earth-1 Harrison Wells builds a particle accelerator in the year 2020 (which then presumably causes the Flash to be created in 2020). This means that the "original" Flash was a version of Barry Allen who grew up with both his parents and became the Flash in the year 2020. It's presumably this Flash that makes the hand gesture that tells Season 1 Barry not to save his mom. This "original" Flash then proceeds to disappear into the Speed Force, where he is erased from existence along with his timeline, as it's overwritten with the Flash Season 1-2 timeline. (Note that Flashpoint had nothing to do with this).

I think Eric is right about the Reverse Flash. I think Reverse Flash is from a time where Barry had twins. But I think that when Thawne says "at least you still have one" he means at least you still have one Nora. If he was from a time where Barry had twins he wouldn't know what changed now that his mother was dead.
The reason zoom caught up to Barry was because that Barry was protecting Nora so that zoom doesn’t get to her.
Facts
Actually, the original timeline does exist in the show, Eobard Thawne directly referenced it when he killed the true Wells in season 1.
He was saying that Wells and his wife originally created the particle accelerator years and years later... but since he wanted to go home asap, he needed this technology to be available sooner. That does mean : where the original Eobard Thawnes come from, Barry Allen became the Flash way later than the modified timeline where he goes back in time to kill Barry's mother.
The show starts with the alternate timeline created by the Reverse Flash. We never saw the original timeline but there are still clues connected to it.

I’m with Aaron on the whole “you’ve got one left” thing. He only said that after he learned her name was Nora. He was referring to the fact he killed Barry’s mom and that Barry has at least one Nora. Barry even shook his head when wells-thawne said that.
I got fucking chills when Zoom passed by the alley and you just hear a fucking roar of sound equivalent to what you expect to hear of a passing train lmfao. It's a small little touch to the scene but holy shit I love it!
Eric’s right. In the original timeline flash get his powers much later. That’s actually the reason why Thawne becomes Wells in the first place is because he needs to move up the timetable of when star labs and the particle accelerator goes online he needed to move it up much sooner.
For a second I also thought when RF said "At least you still have one" he was referring to another daughter but I could mean another Nora. But it could also be like "I am the future, flash".... "I am the future-flash" and have a double meaning

Dawn and Don the Tornado Twins Berry's kids from the comics, she's suppose to be Dawn that's what he was referring too, she's missing her brother and father of Bart Allen 'Impulse'. This is why we can't get Impulse yet until we get Don back. Also this Thawn connection would make more sense with Impulse since Thawn's daughter is Impulse's mother. making Berry and Thawn his grandparents.
I think this is the episode when they should have caught Cicada. Then, after Elseworlds, when they think it's all over, Shecaida shows up with a new dagger, and after they defeat her like eight episodes later, Nora turns evil and grabs the dagger until episode 22, whenthey free her from the Negative Speed Force and destroy the dagger, and then Team Flash faces off against Thawne in the finale. Everything happens just as it ultimately does this season, but the pacing is fixed.
RF was referencing Barry's mom. He thought his daughter's name was Dawn, cause from his timeline Mom-Nora didn't die. And Daughter-Nora was most likely called Dawn in the OG timeline. But since RF killed Mom-Nora, Barry called his daughter Nora in her memory.
Which is why RF says, "that's cute"(naming his daughter after his mother)

It's a double joke that thawn told. He wiped clean Don Allen Barry son from the time line through killing his mother and his daughter Nora Allen's name has changed due to killing Barry's mother. So the at least you have one is hinting to the timeline before season 1 and the check ages made at the start of the show pre flash season 1
I really agreed with Erick, Remember the Thawne from S1 comes from a Timeline that doesnt exist anymore, where Barry became the Flash later on in his life and has the twins one of them named Dawn, just like the in the comics
There is a version of the flash where he becomes the flash later, like the og flash and og timeline. It was mentioned somewhere in this whole season I don’t know which episode but it was definitely mentioned by like reverse flash.
Barry did say that the time wraith was coming for him. The speed force told him he couldn't time travel anymore.
I think the time travel in this show follows the multiple timeline rule where each instance of time travel creates a new branch of timeline. It's not the LOST rule where there is only one timeline and Whatever Happened, Happened.

Red Lantern Reviews well black flash didn’t kill Barry in season 3 when he was in speedforce. Plus time wraiths whole point is to not mess with the timeline so if they did kill him then that would impact the timeline if zoom was gone at 2 18 as opposed to season 2 finale. If that was the case Henry would still b alive
The very first Barry Allen that saved his younger self in s1 had a much different course of being the flash, a course when he became the Flash much later and didn't have to result to having his mother die. Reverse Flash changed this from that night, unknowingly causing a cement in the timeline. So that any current Flash after the act needed to have a dead Mother. Erasing the original Barry and causing the original New Paper vanish. Since then, there has been changes to the timeline, including flashpoint. Which has lined down the path for the Team Flash and Nora West-Allen that we know today. But it is implied by Eobard that the original version of Barry that gotten erased had the Tornado Twins, causing him to mistake 'this' Barry's daughter to be Dawn Allen.
Reverse Flash tells Barry that in Barry's original timeline Barry gets hit by the particle accelerator in the year 2020 when Harrison Wells and his wife turn it on. So Barrys twins would be from that original timeline and that's why reverse flash calls her dawn, because that's what he remembers Barry's OG timeline.

Reverse Flash in the scene in time vult was refrencing the Tornado Twins like in the comics are barry kids like in the comics which is pretty cool
Just to add to the whole timeline thing: Savitar only exists because of Flashpoint. Before Flashpoint, the Savitar loop didn't exists, Barry's two major alterations of the timeline during Flashpoint (once when he saved his mother. And again when he tried to set back, still leaving it fractured), inadvertently caused Savitar to be born, and wreak havoc on history with his self-declared godhood. By the time Barry got pack to the then present of season 3, with Thawne, Savitar already existed.
I thought that was the point of showing the Henry & Nora picture. Henry looked older, like how he might look in the present, and since Nora was surprised to hear about her grandma it's possible she grew up with her.
That reverse flash is originally from a timeline where Barry’s mom wasn’t killed because he’s the one that killed her later in his life. So to him he knows Barry having his mom alive and therefore wouldn’t name his daughter Nora because his mom never died. He doesn’t know the future Barry without a mom
