Another great review! You are so good at this - making it really interesting to see and hear your opinion (it helps that I agree with all of it..)! Thank You and keep it up, Sophie!
Just bought into a Double Wide Triple Track. Oddly - there is no Triple track 5K variant (?), which I thought was their big innovation, so I have stuck with the old model, with Microhinge. No sign of pulls, despite the pistol grip. There's also a step in the blade, to help be vertical over it. Love it. Best putter I have ever hit. I'm a barn door man, and it feels better on short putts than the 2 ball. Very similar on long putts. Alignment is as easy as the 2 ball. Much easier to line up than my old Anser too.
Appreciate the honesty here! I’m still strongly considering a Tri-Hot because as a lefty, it’s surprisingly hard to find a double-wide blade with a crank neck, which is what I prefer, and they do offer one. But at that price, I’d expect more premium looks. The dual colors, black with slate or charcoal or whatever you’d call it, isn’t a great look.
The new Tri-Hot putters will work for some golfers who know exactly what they're after - you sound like that type of golfer so well worth testing one it against your current putter to see which is better!
I too wish the aesthetics were better, however from my testing during a fitting, the Double-Wide really performs well and feels remarkable in terms of stability. I’m probably going to purchase one even though i’m not a massive fan of color scheme
Nice review Sophie. Like my little notifications saying there is a new review. A little taste of home whilst I'm away. I also think the Toulon looks better. £379. Spenny
Having used the Tri-Hot triple wide for several rounds in two weeks, it’s a great mallet replacement for me and in the 80* Florida heat, feels as good as any of the OG and other metal putters. The triple wide has the insert the full length of the face and love the feel! Sophie, great job as usual but…Maybe in warmer weather (sans the stocking cap for the cccccold) you would like the feel better. Looks? No accounting for taste. I like mine. Cheers and love your reviews!
Well I didn’t like the price, but I bought the Number 3. But only after I had tried every putter in the store first. I’ve used it on the course twice now, and I would never give it away. I just can’t believe how smooth a putter it is. I get perfect roll off this putter, so my distance control is perfect. If I had one complaint, I wish the #3 had a Newport shape vs a Laguna shape. I know the #1 has that, but I don’t like plumbers neck putters. I liked the White Hot Pro #3 and I wish this had the same shape. But I got over it because it performs great. It’s better than any Scotty I’ve used, but that’s just my opinion. It has a nice heavy solid feel to it and rolls with minimal skidding. I like a blade because my eye likes a perpendicular line up. That’s what I can’t use mallets. I like everything about the putter, except the price, but if it makes golf more fun from scoring better, I guess it’s worth it. I’ve had a Toulon Chicago before, but the double bend shaft screws my view up. I’d like to see Odyssey make a Chicago without a double bend shaft. Like a Newport 1.5.
I had the Tri-hot 2 and had it for 15 years in and out the bag always going back to it. I also had the same shape putter in the milled blue metal Callaway logo’d version that I ordered from Callaway Used but was sent as a brand new putter from the US about a year after it was introduced and may have flopped because it was too expensive at the time.
I do remember when these came out but I was using either scottie camerons back then I actually just bought a 2022 two ball ten triple track with the white hot face... liking it so far for the alignment aids
Luckily I picked up an old two ball blade for 50 AUD just before 2nd hand golf club prices went crazy. If for asthetic reasons I want to upgrade my putter, this would be the only consideration. The white hot insert is an incredible feel.
There’s also tungsten weights internally positioned behind the face that you can’t see. Love the forward weighting concept. The triple wide blade would be my go too although I do like the Toulon Lemans but it doesn’t look like it comes in a short neck hosel. I’m not a face balanced fan, having an arc type stroke
Definitely too expensive, but it's interesting that the white hot insert much more popular on tour than the milled Toulon. Never tried the Toulon, but I suspect it might be a bit overpriced as well?
I have been using the White Hot Style for 20 years. I never liked mallets (and did use an Odyssey mallet in the 90's) but the #3 style is what works the best for me. I like the way it looks when addressing putts and the insert gives it a solid strike vs. clanking metal.
Always great and honest reviews. I’ve always used a Newport 2 blade and keep trying a real mallet from time to time and never works. I’m trying the 5k Triple Wide now to see if that is better as I like the idea of a larger head than a blade. With it, i still keep a blade shape. What mallet did you move to when you finally stopped using a blade? Also, great job announcing LPGA golf tournaments I watch.
@@peterkelly9655 honestly I tried it a few rounds and sent it back. It just felt heavy even when I lightened the weights in the head. Also the feel was not what I was looking for. I’m keeping my 2012 Newport 2 and then going to try a center shafted mid-mallet which fits my putting stroke better. I would try it out in a fitting or demo one outside to see what you think.
where's the center shafted version like my older white hot?!?! Going from the bullseye putter as a younger man, the center shafted version felt much better.
Like your videos, but you are very obviously biased toward Toulon. Every Putter video I see you review, you reference back to Toulon. Are you getting paid by them, or just think its the greatest putter ever made?
Wonderful review, Sophie. Love the honesty
No point in doing reviews if you're not going to be honest in my opinion David. Thanks for getting in touch!
Another great review! You are so good at this - making it really interesting to see and hear your opinion (it helps that I agree with all of it..)! Thank You and keep it up, Sophie!
just bought the 3 from callaway pre owned for £120...cant wait, their pre owned clubs are basically brand new..Been using a Ping Zing for 30 years....

I prefer the Toulon as well. Thank you for the honest analysis
No worries, the toulon design range this year is brilliant I have to say!
Like the 3. Nice nod to Steve. I think price is never an issue with putter if it works and that insert is legendary like Steve!

I liked, subscribed, and hit notifications. Your knowledge of golf is exceptional, and yes, Stricks holed a lot of putts. 🥂

I was gone after I heard £379….and nothing drew me back in. Great, honest review. £379 is far too expensive for an ‘ok putter’, in my opinion.

Great honest review, well done Sophie 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I picked up a OG White Hot # 1 and like it well enough, but, my go to putter is the Stroke Lab # 7.
Love your thorough reviews

Liked the video the minute I saw Sophie. bought the double wide cuz I grew up in Texas, making everything.

Good looking Putter.👍 I prefer this to toulon....But I wont be swapping my 2 ball putter.
Thanks for getting in touch Mikey, the looks weren't for me but everyone's opinion is different!

brutally honest review.... i love it, i donr think odessey will though.
Which mallet do you have sophie?
I think these are great however I feel they are £100 too expensive . For high end I would definitely look at Toulon.
Exactly what we thought Paul!
Agreed- these are just too expensive for what they are
Definitely too expensive, but it's interesting that the white hot insert much more popular on tour than the milled Toulon. Never tried the Toulon, but I suspect it might be a bit overpriced as well?
Interesting review, well done said, the original trihot putter was very nice.

I cannot aim a mallet. I moved from the two ball to the triple wide; night and day difference in aiming ability.
The Toulon have the same weighting, so are they 5K also?
How refreshing to say it like it is on price

Hi cliff. How are you getting on with the triple wide. I’m going for a fitting next week and that one has caught my eye

would have loved to see a #8
£379 ... well if you want one I don't think there will be a waiting list. Have Callaway brought these out to sell more Toulon's?
Go on eBay, choose from every other putter ever made that can do what this one does, save 300 quid 👍
where's the center shafted version like my older white hot?!?! Going from the bullseye putter as a younger man, the center shafted version felt much better.
Never liked the feel or sound of the white hot face. Too firm and clicky. I wish it had the micro hinge face.
I don’t see why a blade is tougher to align than a mallet. I’ve used both and experienced no difference.
Sounds like a personal technique issue if you can't align these putters.
No its not. You can't aim a putter if you have issues with this putter
OG is a much better value and looks in my opinion
There are so many children of Ping in the market.
I find the price of the putter is way too much.
Agree Josephine! Thanks for getting in touch.
£379 for a putter?? Sorry unless it stops me three putting I'm okay. Its a flat stick
It's a joke what they charge for top brands golf products..
if I had the money to pick any putter think it wud be a spider 🕷
Have you watched our most review of the Spider GT putter Kevin?
yes I have I watch all your videos amazing tips and information it does look sexy
@@kevinmaxted1768 Thanks Kevin - glad you're enjoying the videos!
and Sophie is amazing with her work words and details
Worst review I have seen since 2001...
Sad old man hope you’re next stroke is a heart 😂😂😂
