These are all the jams my mom should have been listening to. However she was the youngest in her family of 9, so they mostly into Jerry Butler and the dramatics and the spinners.
I remember boogieing till I almost dropped weekend after weekend as my friend and I went to the disco of choice each weekend. Or, the dancin as we called it in the west of Scotland
I just finished the first episode of the new PBS doc series “disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution” and was reminded of this movie I saw. Didn’t the Sevigny character go on a run with a Ska song? Anyway I’ve always been a fan of Stillman’s Trilogy
I think the least realistic or most obnoxious element of this and all the Stillman movies is how elite waspy they are , like every one of them features extensive talk about ivy league colleges that regular americans haven't attended since the 1950s. You remember that character from family guy, Buzzkillington? He would find all these movies devilishly humorous
This was my era and disco had alot more "POW" than these luke warm scenes. The women worn a ton of makeup, crazy big hair, colorful standout outfits, and the men were alot more animated and confident when dancing...it was crazy on the dance floor...super fun. This is lame and very placid to how it really was. Just watch real footage from STUDIO 54 in it's hayday..no comparison.
It was like this in my suburban disco. But we weren't into the weird stuff they were doing at studio 54. We just liked to dance to the music and socialize.

These songs were all popular during the disco heydays.
I loved this movie and Chloe Sevigny's demure, shy but inwardly strong character.

Very nice 👍
Thanks for the visit
Nice collection of disco music.
Glad you enjoyed it
I fully supported the burn all disco records movement. This was one genre I couldn't stand. Carry on all you Saturday Night Fever folks.
Wonderful music.
such a great movie. thanks for posting.
You're very welcome.
We'd cruise by the clubs. Later it was, the wilder it was. Then you had the last call hooking up. 😂
