Advancement in the barber business can be rapid... but from barber to General Manager because of a chess game seems a bit excessive. 😂😜

If he plays 3. Bb5 in the Ruy Lopez, is the Knight on c6 considered to be in a hair- pin?

I'm kinda upset Lasker didn't castle to deliver the checkmate, "O-O-O#" would have looked cool
Do you know any other game with Kd2# I do not!
Some people are happy to see king move in the end. This is like showing “when my king gets into action then you are doomed” rather than showing “my king will hide in the corner and defeat you with my army only” 😂
I thought the fade-away with the king was better
I remember hearing in a Seirawan lecture that Lasker was an engineer by trade and saw it as better to accomplish the same thing (#) with one piece (Kd2) rather than two (O-O-O), but I'm not sure if that's true.
@@lc0597 the king move is more robust, and has more margin, so it's the engineer's choice.

Agad . Seriously, you have given the world a big treat. There is so much interest in chess now thanks to your channel. You deserve a life time achievement award in your contribution to generate so much of interest in chess. My kudos and Namaskarams.👃
I sent a picture of this checkmate to some friends on the same exact same minute that agad posted this video, entirely by accident. Crazy coincidence

The legendary game Kd2 checkmate. This is one of the most beautiful moves ever played in chess history, also the game himself. Saludos amigo
I played this at my local bar.
It is now also a library.
Everyone: You need to get your King to safety by castling.
Lasker: Hold my Queen.
why get your king to safety when you can get your OPPONENT'S king to safety
Fun fact about Lasker (Edward) - very proficient mechanical and electrical engineer. I think to a certain extant he inspired the Harry Beltik character in "Queen's Gambit", who was a good-but-not-great chess player and was studying to become an electrical engineer.
"The chest master" has got to be my favorite chess player title in all of history.
Showed this to my punk rock friend, he's now playing Symphony.
8:00 "Even the laziest King flees wildly in the face of a double check!”
(Aaron Nimzowitsch)
Agad going full hollywood with an HD remaster with additional storyline. That said, the fatal attraction game is definitely one that deserves it.
"Edward Lasker was a distant relation to Berthold and Emanuel. Despite the common name and a mutual friendship, Edward was unaware of his relation to Emanuel until Emanuel showed a family tree to Edward. Edward's best tournaments were his Paris, London, NYC, and Chicago city championships, his multiple US Open Championships, and his showing in the 1924 New York tournament. Edward was a tough match for any player in the world at his best."
I see you've put quotation marks around all that. What's your source, if you don't mind me asking?
(And thank you for that information. I hope agadmator sees it.)
@@davidanderson_surrey_bc I already answered but don't see it. Chess.com is the source.

Edward Lasker's book: The Adventure of Chess is amazing. I strongly recommend to everyone. The stories he personally witness about Emmanuel Lasker, Capablanca and Alekhine are amazing.

Thank you for covering this again, much appreciated.
I’ll look at the original as well, for the views 👍🏼
The most difficult part was to decide whether to go for Kd2# or O-O-O#, he barely survied that limit of 5 mins and played Kd2# in rush when realized only 5 seconds left to meet that 5 mins limit.

I literally had a dream about this game yesterday even when I didn't saw your 2017 video and today you uploaded it
A really brilliant checkmate by Lasker, but also good of Sir George to not resign so that we could witness this beauty!
Watched this one on your channel in 2017, and so glad to be watching again in 2021. What a king hunt ,and we get to enjoy it in 60p.
I really love your new slow motion effect, it's kinda make the game more interesting :D
George is famous for his famous blunders playing the English Opening.

Best slow-mo in the world!👍 And ty for the game - missed this one!
Queen captures in slow motion. 😂😂😂
Sir George Thomas was most famous as a badminton player. He won the All-England championship 21 times.
If I saw that ending position out of context of the game I would have accused the person of making it up. This is beautiful. Seeing the Dark King stroll into opponent's territory, attacked on every move, only for the light king to move once and end the game, revealing that regicidal rook, is absolutely poetic. Awesome game. Thank you for reuploading Agadmator, I don't think I would have seen this game if you had not!
Of course I watched the original and it was great to see agamators progression what always comes through is his sincerity and absolute love for chess
This is really really .. like really .. means a lot .. and can't stress how really cool 😎!
Moving the king is more badass than castle ...
Morphy would have been amazed if he had been alive
“I always assume the worst, if it turns out to be better then it’s better” - great approach. You should show this again.
I only realized that I had already seen your previous video once the king was about halfway through his march. That said, I enjoyed it again a second time and I'm glad I watched it twice.
Watching your videos made me so passionate about Chess♟️ Antonio ❤️❤️❤️🎉!!!!!
I must have told 4 or 5 people about this game when i started playing chess .. it still fascinates me to this day .

I had the good fortune of playing a game with Edward in the late 1970’s at the Manhattan Chess Club. He was such a wonderful gentleman with many contributions to chess and society at large.
You put a game up, I will try to watch it. I cannot see them all, but I got to see them 3 or more times to grasp them.
Lasker was also instrumental in bringing Go to a wider western audience.

Spiteful.

Happy easter guys
I met Edward Lasker. He died in the 1980s. He was friends with former World Champion Emanuel Lasker. Edward wrote in his memoirs of the New York 1924 tournament as published in the March 1974 edition of Chess Life magazine: "I did not discover that we were actually related until he (Emanuel Lasker) told me shortly before his death that someone had shown him a Lasker family tree on one of whose branches I was dangling." gambiter.com/chess/players/Edward_lasker.html
I just love Agadmator's humor. Priceless.
Finally.....been waiting for 3 days for your video

I am disappointed he did not castle for the final move!
The fact that the a1 rook checkmated the enemy king without ever being moved really shows that it was supporting his team in spirit.
