Any move that allows you to continue or start an attack can be considered an offensive move. Since the queen check allowed black to defend, then king to B1 could be considered an offensive move doesn't it?

Mad respect to Svane for allowing such a beautiful work of art to completely unfold.
Can't be understated. Kudos to him for his good sportsmanship. A lot of people would have forfeit instead of letting their opponent complete the amazing play.
I found a more efficient mating sequence. On move 34 Instead of Qg2 white plays Qc6+ forcing black to play K×a3, then white plays either Kc2 or Re2 leaving black the only good move K×b4 then white plays Rb1+ or Rb2+ check depending either on Kc2 or Re2 respectively forcing black to play Ka3 then a simple Ra1+ or Ra2+ is checkmate
Chinmay Biradar black can play Kb4 after Ra1+ or Ra2+
Turns out it's a lie, see what's next

Dubov looks like a Bond villain, plays chess like an absolute pirate. What a complete and utter legend.
And as I comment it is his birthday today (mine was yesterday). Keep producing these great games Daniil.
"Dubov just continues the attack with h5. And this is just going all out. Full barbarian style. Mikhail Tal would be proud."

I just thought that someone will checkmate the other one in just 13 moves after the clock starts. haha
Yeah, the title is misleading, if not clickbait.
@@mpmpm it isn't misleading, nor is it clickbait. It's a normal chess expression to say "mate in x moves" to refer to a forced mate in x moves, regardless of how many moves were played before. What James described would more appropriately be described as a miniature in 13 moves, not a mate

I want to have the amount of sportsmanship that Swane has for allowing a mate instead of resigning.
Svane deserves as much recognition as dubov, what a gentleman.
I'm impressed by the fact that he allowed Danil to checkmate him rather than forfeiting

@@reedsexton3973 *flipping the chessboard
When you've seen an attack this aesthetically pleasing why not allow the mate over the board? I might have applauded or at least offered the man a beer for such beautiful chess.
Maybe you don't play that much over the board chess with stakes. Sometimes you resign before mates like this because you're completely demoralised after spending hours and hours and believing you found the answer. You may begin thinking about various forks in the game or if you're extreme why am I playing professional chess. Some guys like svidler routinely allow mate on board because he really really enjoys chess aesthetically first but even then depending on the importance of the game he has resigned beforehand.
And why allow it?
Am I getting too enthusiastic about this young man or can I hope to see a real crazy magician world champion title contender in the future? :p

"Mate in 13" can only be felt, not calculated, based on position and potential. That's insane though. Beautiful game! There are times that forcing mate in long sequences just happens naturally, and so was this, especially Bb3! I love moves like that!

What a devastating attack man..pitch perfect attack by Dubov
Well as the video shows, not pitch perfect. Almost impossible to find the defense over the board but it was a losing attack.
8:14 So you’re telling me you can win a queen by playing bishop d5 🤨

I also commented that
You cant win a queen though. Black captures the pawn with check and saves the queen

Firstly I think you can ask Google to point you in the direction of a school. Secondly it isn't. It is a losing attack. It is very much like Tal. There are games which have amazing 20 move sequence attacks. Agadmator's video of Kasparov's immortal for example was perfect play and it was amazing. I'd honestly rather see carlsen crush someone from an equal position in the end game. That shows deep understanding of the game and also a monster iq.
