I have a question, in one of your other videos you said we should not leave our original images on the server as it takes up resources and we should resize and compress them before uploading to WP. Yet in this video Imagify compresses the images and also leaves the original. What's the difference with Imagify that makes it ok to do the compression in WP and leave the originals on the server? I'm somewhat confused now.
Hello Connie, Glad to see that you are loving our videos. In reference to the Serving Images in Next Gen Format video basically leaving Images on the Server does not consume resources. So you do not have to worry about the images on your server as they won't load on your website. I hope that clarifies. :)

Hello, This is really great BUT, do you have an video that Does show to resize the images right in Wordpress? These are actually all png overlays already used on the site... and there are several and we don't have easy access to the original files so we need to resize And compress right in Wordpress. If you have the video already, can you please point me to it? If not, any suggestions to where I can easily find this information. It's late Friday night and I need to get his done by Sunday. For sure next time I do something as dumb as adding a ton of overlays, I'll make sure they have the resizing done before they are loaded. Thank you!!!
Jen, I'm not sure I follow 100%, but if these files are present on your website, that means you still have access to the original files, right? And if you use the Imagify plugin, the files will be resized on their servers, but the process will be pretty seamless, which means you should experience the process as if the files are resized on your website directly? I guess that should help solve your query. Let me know if there are any questions.

So actually this is not a free solution, EXCEPT you upload the already compressed images and use Imagify only to envole webp format which you can actually do by chaning .htaccess file on the server. The conclusion is you are just selling the tool :D

Yes. Imagify does that for you automatically. This is still a thing in WordPress 5.8, unfortunately.

Shiva, I've mentioned completely free ways to compress images as well. Imagify has a generous free plan which will serve most users.
