What can I say, it’s the AWM..
Actually it’s a step better as it’s the AWSM (acronym for ‘awesome’ (jk, but it should be)). The AWSM is the AWM’s big brother.
Below is a handy guide for the AW family
AI = Accuracy International, the company that designed and makes these rifles
AW = Arctic Warfare, the family that makes up multiple rifles in different calibers. The standard AI AW is a .308 rifle.
AWM = Arctic Warfare Magnum, referring to the model of AW rifle that is chambered in .300WM
AWSM = Arctic Warfare Super Magnum, reffing to the model of AW rifle chambered in .338LM
Fun fact:
A British sniper held the world record for the longest confirmed kill for quite some time (eventually a Canadian blew it out of the water) with the AWSM. It was 2475 meters. It took the bullet approx 6 seconds to travel that distance, and required compensation for bullet drop of almost 400 feet.
This is a beautiful rifle and I am lucky to have it in my collection at this time. This is a 2007 production gun with a British military fluted barrel. It is formally known as the L115. Mine is the later “A3” model with folding stock and 2 chamber threaded muzzle brake. The A3 also saw a switch from the traditional Parker Hale bipod to the new Harris bipod. I preferred the Parker Hale, but alas, the Parker Hale can still be installed on this rifle.
These were traditionally outfitted with a Schmidt & Bender PMii scope with several ranges, either 3-12, 4-16, or 5-25. While originally designed for optimal performance in subzero Arctic conditions, the upgraded .338LM rifle was fielded in the Afghanistan and subsequent wars in the Middle East. It was brought forth as part of Britain’s improved sniping program. Where other countries were outfitting snipers with .308’s or .300wm’s, Britain was the first to jump up to .338LM, a round capable out to 2500meters and beyond. It was used as a part of a two man crew. One would have the L115A3, and another would have the L129 (LMT MWS .308 semi auto AR10).
Hope you enjoyed my video. Please see my others. In total there are 4 for the AWM

The British soldier was Craig Harrison. He also took out the machine gun that the tali had set up too I believe. He has a book and has done some videos with LadBible recently where he talks about his time serving and the struggles after retiring.
Hey, Arm, long time subscriber, I gotta tell you I love your vids. So informative and so well done, keep it up brother.
This was the 1st sniper rifle I ever found on DayZ and instantly fell in love with it. Lol...don't judge me...
Cool rifle set!👍
poi時雨 thank you, it’s a cool combo the British military decided on.
Beautiful
It's obviously my favourite gun of all time
Classic gorgeous gun.
Agreed!
Hey man, great video, I really want collect one of these just like you… can you give me some guide of where to find them and should I collect this?
Cool pal
How did you not mention counter strike?! You're killing me smalls!
Awsm for awesome gun
Does one not sometimes get a bit tired of the overall length and the weight ? I did with the 308 version.
how they made the
metal case of the rifle bro it's look awesome
Want it. How does it contain silencer sir ?
Im here again!!
You sounded pretty low and off in this video. Hope all's well. Love your work btw keep em coming.
What did the whole setup cost you? I'm looking at buying one right now but I have no idea how fair the sellers price is, these are so rare to come by.
This comment was written a year ago, do you own one now? If so, how much did it cost you? And, where'd you find it?
@@edwarddominguez7692 Hey. I own two now and a spare chassis.
The first one is an AW, I paid $7.5K for it in like-new condition and found it for sale on long range shooting forums.
The second one is an AE MK1, obtained secondhand from a local SWAT team selling off their old equipment. It was very beat up but still a great shooting rifle. The barrel was replaced with a 16.5" version to make it very compact for city use. Price was a hair under $3K.
Lastly I have a first generation AICS (chassis) that I plan on building out at some point. They cost about $1K but the first gens are extremely hard to find.
@@shitbox_sommelier Aye that's awesome, congrats! Great, I have an idea of how much this would cost me. Thanks, and congrats once again!
@@edwarddominguez7692 Thanks! They're incredible rifles and are as as fun to shoot as I thought they would be. If you can afford to buy one, I highly recommend it. It always gets compliments at the range and will always be the coolest looking gun in my collection. Good luck!
Serious question. Does the folding stock rattle/have some slight play once locked into the fully deployed position? I've always wondered about the tolerances of folding stocks as i imagine it would be very hard to manufacture one with zero looseness/play
Thanks!
It really doesn't look that way, keep in mind this is the highest level of gun design, I Don' t think the elite snipers deployed around the world would have let that slide. And I think its probably more durable being a bolt action because you only get single blows that run straight to the stock rather than a little wobbling automatic shooting might cause
I love haenel rs8 and rs9
Where can i buy this? I cant find it for sale online. Price doesnt matter but i cant even find it used. I want this to go with my Barrett M82A1.
Good good, test fire AWM please
How do you get your hands on one of these?
Great review of a rubber mat.
hello can you tell me the name of the spyglass that is on l96
Wait, aren't these the Military ONLY versions, how did you get one and you're a Civvy?
Amazing!
By the way, what does 2 holes at bolt does?
Most probably gas exit holes.
12:00 of a total flex 😎
Such an amazing rifle. The skill level to be able to stretch this thing out to a mere 1,000 meters, (assuming you can even find somewhere safe enough to try it) is rare as hens teeth. It’s just too bad us mortals will never have the time to appreciate the rifle is the way it was designed to be appreciated. Still, we can list and if we have the money even own and shoot it. Obviously the M4 is the better choice in almost every way, but I’d still rather have the Accuracy International.
7.62x67? So, basically a 30-06 hot load
A bit better
How much is a gun like that
About $8K-$10K in the current market.
Hard to believe acuricy international started off in a shed 🤣
That's how most companies begin.
Save the awp
