Guided in colorado for ever, caught my biggest rainbow out of that first hole you fished, 16 pounds and 30 inches long. The blue used to be awesome, lots of big fish, not as good as it used to be.
I love fishing the Blue because it was the first place I caught a fish on a nymph rig and also the same place I got my first fish over 20 inches (happened to be the same day haha). While it is stocked, I think having a place to consistently catch big fish is important and fun to have in your arsenal. Cheeseman and Deckers can definitely produce big fish, but are much harder to fish than the Blue. The Blue is a nice alternative to the other tricky tailwaters that can get overcrowded with anglers or leave you skunked. I usually like to target - Brown trout - Brooke Trout - Rainbow trout (although I catch the most of these) -Cutthroat trout - Bass/perch
Couldn’t agree more, having an easy access, big fish river located an hour from the Denver metro is awesome and we’re definitely spoiled to have it! My favorite aspect of the blue is the sight fishing opportunities you get while fishing there. I’d say without the blue river, my sight fishing game wouldn’t be close to where it is today. And thank you for the list of fish, I greatly appreciate it. Thanks for watching!!
Awesome video! Some pike or musky on the fly would be an awesome video. Also smallmouth, lake trout, grayling, or tiger trout if you can find them. Most of those are on my list for 2025 atleast and would definitely be cool to watch.
Couldn't agree more! Just getting outside and on the water is the most important part to me at the end of the day. Then whatever takes my line is a bonus. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate the list brotha! I’m assuming you mean wiper and not whisper? 😂 if so, that’ll definitely throw an interesting twist on my plan. Thanks as always for watching 😎🤘
Cutthroat trout Brown trout Brook trout Rainbow trout Yellow perch Black crappie Smallmouth bass Bluegill Sunfish These are the only fish I’ve ever caught 😂
lol what are you crying about? The fish that already had an emaciated jaw? Relax man. If you watched the full video he clearly keeps all the others out of the water minimally. Nothing he did harmed any of the fish. Chill

Always good to get a slam day. Cutty, Bow, Brown and maybe a brookie. Gonna go after a night time brn on a mouse pattern one of these days!

Awesome catch! For me, I'm happy with any fish I catch on a fly. 😀
I couldn’t agree more! I’m just looking for some specific species for a big project in the future! Thanks for watching
The first spot you were at I fished this summer and it is awesome, great to see you out there catching fish!!!
Glad to see others are finding success on this river! It’s certainly difficult, but always a great time. Thanks for watching!

Got to get those big fish back in the water a bit quicker. Especially on our cold Colorado days. Nice fish.
I think the video does a good job at showcasing the fish in the water and being released in a respectful manner! Thanks for watching!
