I appreciate your sense of honor. And the challenge implied.... "yeah, this is what I run, but I bet you can't make one as fast". Love it ! I've been in the hobby long enough to realize that it isn't just about the motor and ESC. There is painstaking hours of reducing driveline friction, suspension tuning, tire selection, lubricants, gear ratios, batteries, aero, etc. etc. Just because you have a killer strong Castle motor is just the start..... Love your channel, dude...
I love that you’re not insecure and trying to hide all your “secrets”. You are so right about “over sharing”, there is so much more to speed running than just knowing the setup. People that know that they are good at something and confident in their skills have no issues sharing their knowledge with others. Insecure individuals are terrified that someone else might become as good as them.
Without competition we would still be using nicad.... Amazing to see how far R/C has come sense the start, when I was young my dad got me a Tamiya Frog almost 40 years later I still Love the hobby! Keep doing what your doing really enjoy your passion!
I don't think that's how it happened. Like most technologies, it comes from research groups at universities and if manufacture-able, becomes a reality on the market. Competition only really comes in at the corners to squeeze more performance per dollar. In the case of li-ion, and eventually li-poly, John Goodenough was one of the inventors. He's supposedly working on the next battery technology which will be ceramic based.
You are the reason I even consider on road builds. Prior to finding your channel, I was exclusively an off road and dirt oval guy. But the stuff you do show, like how to build a 150mph car, has shown me there is a challenge to doing this on road stuff, and has gotten me interested in it. It has also convinced me to convert my Jato to a 6s electric system, and use it as an on road car.
196 MPH !!! WOWWIE WOW WOW!!! You are the MAN !!! I am trying to break 100 mph with a felony spektrum 8s, thanks for the info, the help and for your passion for the hobby!!! Keep on pushing the mph !!

Wow Wow Wow! Congrats Raz and thanks for all the tips/tricks you've shared with us over the years! I have learned more through your videos than I would have ever discovered through guesswork alone!
Awesome video! I'm not much of a speed run guy because of the high maintenance cost, but this video was sick, and the fact you didn't hide your build deserves major props. Most speed runners on YT won't share their components breakdown, but you gave pretty much a full breakdown on what you were running. I'm actually blown away that your tires held up at 190+mph. I've see a lot of speed run videos before and blow outs are very common over 165mph...some happen at lower speeds than that. I'm probably guessing a lot of that was attributed to those springs your were running. The springs seemed to keep the car perfectly stiff at the desired ride height and also reduice the vibration traveling through the wheels and chassis. The fact hose tires held up like that for two runs is insane! I appreciate everything you shared in this video! Thanks!
A lot of the community appreciate what you do and what you show us. Me personally, I've learnt a lot from watching you (and some others) over the past couple of years, its got me over 100mph this year and hopefully more mph this year. Thank you Raz for your videos and the content & Happy New Year👍
Yes, I’m new and I find it so strange and frankly pathetic that the rc community is “secretive” about rc info. Even at the hobby shop the workers would laugh if I didn’t know the correct term. It’s like bro you work in a hobby shop I own my own business and am a firefighter making more money than I know what to do with. That’s why I spend on rc’s. It’s like dude it’s a lot to learn how bout you help a guy who is interested out and teach him. Thanks man love your products and mindset
There is plently of videos on how to get fast with an rc, just have to find them. And if you are looking into burning money, dual motor limitless with a scorched front bearing drive shaft, rear carbon fiber drive shaft, ceramic bearings, a fc100 delta plastiks body, and 2 1100kv xlx2 combos. Great way to spend about 3k, but that setup has gone 200mph.
I would like to say thank you for sharing as someone who is new to speed runs I have come a long way in the last year watching you and the other top dawgs in the game. I really appreciate you taking time to slow down and show us what to do 🙏🏾🙏🏾

I loved the fact that I knew basically nothing about this bit of the hobby and it forced me to keep watching you and doing my own research until I understood what you was saying "Mr Talbot isn't good with the techno babble" 😂. It took a while to understand it all, but it's quite simple once you understand the equipment fully. I'd like to thank you for giving me the push to expand my knowledge of the Hobby 🙏 Happy New Year bro 🙏👊🙏

Perhaps a this vs that battery type, even if the difference is the c rating as not to talk about anyone’s batteries. I think this is apart of your next step in evolution to the RC planet!!! 💪🏾💯💪🏾

Was kind of wonder the same. Makes it sound like a single tp motor. He shows a lot of his cars after his passes with 2 gps’s . I guess Raz is just saying everyone should be more transparent with there claims?
Happy new year! Epic runs 🤯 i can only dream of those speeds right now. Just got my first on road rc (limitless v2) also my first new rc (been in the hobby 20 years). When will the mate kit b back in stock(US)? And ware do i get the v2 batwing ? Cant seem to find them anywhere, or the v1. Maybe im just looking in the wrong places. Thanks
I totally agree. I have stopped watching several speed runners. They are full of sht. They claim certain things, say they are not promoting certain brands, then turn around and start promoting junk. This is why I just stay here. I will soon learn how to read my logs better, because of you. Thank you, Congrads for the new world record as well. I will figure out the gears myself, using your gear chart. My best thus far is 116 mph, listening to you. And some have just started talking about things just not related to RC. Your personal life should be just that. I don't care to hear or see your personal life. Stick with RC conversations. Left that channel also.
Let's say even if you show how is setup, the tuning is something is not easy to show, any person can put the same electronics and still not getting closer to the same speed, that tuning is always important. Nice clean setup I love it
Brilliant as always Raz, congrats on the 196 mph. I truly love your videos and am always happy and excited to see a new upload. Thanks for sharing. John
People underestimate how important body stability really matters at those high speeds. Between the new body mounts and stuff I think that's what's helping so much with these runs. That older body with the bolted or riveted aero parts on it I feel like has too much play. I would glue the extra parts on or use some sort of adhesive to prevent any bit of wiggle or air slipping through. You have to think at close to 200mph all that force will find any weakness. All this will make the car super unstable.
With all the other things you raz does combined with bulletproof stability = the best runs. Just my opinion from all the videos I've watch raz do thus far.
Can I get your opinion on something? I want to do a single motor setup for high speed; not speed runs of 175mph+, just durable high speed. Should I got with Castle Creations Mamba XLX 2 1/5 Sensored Brushless ESC/Motor Combo (800Kv) w/2028 Motor OR Hobbywing EZRun Max4/Max5 ESC & EZRun 70125SD (560kv) motor. The castle ESC says it's maxed rated for 8s, whereas the HW ESC is rated for 12s. In speed run videos I'm seeing mostly Castle setups, but I'm not really sure what to do. Can the castle XLX 2 +2028 (800kv) motor handle 12s? I noticed your speed car was Castle. What do you think about running the 2028 (800kv) Castle with the 12s capable HW Max4 or 5 ESC? Is this a possibility? Can you also recommend the best LiPos to use in your opinion? Help me out Raz! or anyone!
A great video to start the New Year with Raz 👏👏 More and more of the community are following suit as per your content so it would seem that it’s only a small minority that are / would be complaining about you sharing details of your cars, 99% of the community appreciate everything that you do and show so keep doing what your doing buddy. Congrats on the 196mph, both cars look 👌🏻
I just got a limitless V2 and first time doing any kinda speed build, so I watched you 6 episode build and set mine up except I’m not a castle fan boy, so I went with a hobbywing max 5 esc and hobbywing 4990 1650kv motor and just trimmed the plastics in front and back for downforce and on stock 39t spool and 35t pinion on this tiny road where I live I got maybe a 1/3 throttle pull and got 127mph. But I’ve got your PP batwing, Carbon driveshaft, full carbon fiber kit, bsr foams that will be here tomorrow. Then I’m going to take it to a long wide road and break these castle records with my hobbywing stuff. Everyone on UA-cam uses castle in there limitless and having problems getting pass 130-140. I’m positive I’ll be past 150s after I get my perfect pass stuff on it because I put a 34t spool on it with a 37t pinion. I’m going to try to figure out this UA-cam thing that way I can show everyone what a beginner did with hobbywing electronics. RAZ you’ve inspired me to get into the speed stuff and I can’t wait to make another order of perfect pass parts
Dude 190 plus WOW!! I am an avid RC guy mainly trucks and off road but can really appreciate all the time and effort into one of these not to mention the money.
Awesome, thanks for showing, I see no point in keeping secrets, I can use my gear app to figure out gearing and get some where near, I've seen some dodgy editing on speed runs when they show the gnss speed app lol
im new to rc community. i want to know how you guys change gears with no problems. are you only switching the spur gear? apologize for dumb question, if it is.. only cause i put loc tite and i say man these guys are using some powerful glue for gears not come loose with the speed. awesome car, thanks for sharing.
Happy New year and thank you for all your 2022 videos. I wanna ask you, what would you advise as a first car, roller or kit to enter into your hobby of Speed car. I'm not really into buying any RTR to keep 6 pieces of it ehehe, but maybe that's the way. Cheers and thanks again for all you share with us.
Im not knocking what you are doing, I love your videos Raz and with you are achieving by modding a RTR car is very impressive, but Nic Case's 203mph record was set with a single motor, I don't recall if there is video of him taking the body off after a 200+run, but his build is well documented, he wasn't shy about revealing what he was using either, it was officially set at an endorsed event with a 2 way average timed across a measured distance too, not just an instantaneous top speed measured by GPS, 8 years later and a few folks like you are getting close on the GPS, but no one is yet close to beating it officially and ROSSA don't even require the second direction for an average any more (like other motorsport/moddlesport speed records do).
Nics car was a completely custom rig with a heap of sponsorship . Also James McCoy has a 204 in the bag, using a single tp motor xlx2 ??? I guess what he’s saying is back up your claim to keep everyone honest.
I have always watched your channel because of the information and education I receive. (And the humor doesn’t hurt). On this one, I couldn’t possibly agree with you more. If you won’t prove it, don’t claim it. Pretty simple.
Happy New York Raz and friends!!!! Nice work 196mph. Dam the wind. Love the sound!!!!!! I'm hoping to do some speed runs with my limitless this spring in NYC. I found a spot, have to be out before 6am to be safe. 2023 New speed records!!!!

Why haven't you talked about the rear body supports you are developing. You know the ones on the sides on the wing?
Nice clean setup I love it
What batteryplugs are you using?
Brilliant as always Raz, congrats on the 196 mph. I truly love your videos and am always happy and excited to see a new upload. Thanks for sharing. John
Happy new year Raz! YES, 196mph single motor is AMAZING! Fastest I EVER seen. GOOD JOB! 💪💪💪
Thanks, Kimberly:)!
Just my opinion from all the videos I've watch raz do thus far.
so is this a slight burn towards james mccoy? with his video he doesn't take the cover off.
Not at all actually
I want to know, what you use the tire for speed run? Please help me...
Wow you are just an amazing driver and designer awesome build. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do you think you would have a better top speed if the conditions were better like less wind? I think so unless if you’re going against the wind
As a hardcore F1 fan, I find this ridiculously satisfying. It’s nuts.
Help me out Raz! or anyone!
A great video to start the New Year with Raz 👏👏
More and more of the community are following suit as per your content so it would seem that it’s only a small minority that are / would be complaining about you sharing details of your cars, 99% of the community appreciate everything that you do and show so keep doing what your doing buddy.
Congrats on the 196mph, both cars look 👌🏻
this video was unedited garbage..... low expectations i guess. Raz doesnt really put any effort into it.
Raz where can I find the onyx rc power system lipo batteries?????
Awesome show performance, congratulations! Is the 196mph car built on a Limitless as well?
4:40, this car makes the perfect F1 sound when it goes past, Beautiful!
200mph is right around the corner.
Amazing work. Congratulations!
Nic Case went 202mph with ONE motor at least 10 years ago. You have some catching up to do.
IM SO HAPPY AND GLAD YOU SHAERE WITH US IT HELPS US TO LEARN MORE!! &TO UNDERSTAND
Happy New year’s Raz this video was great 👍🏾
Awesome, thanks for showing, I see no point in keeping secrets, I can use my gear app to figure out gearing and get some where near, I've seen some dodgy editing on speed runs when they show the gnss speed app lol
Awsome numbers, plain simple awsome 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
you right most rc guys for some reason loves too keep everything a secret and claims thier cars go fast. but dont want too share anything
im new to rc community. i want to know how you guys change gears with no problems. are you only switching the spur gear? apologize for dumb question, if it is.. only cause i put loc tite and i say man these guys are using some powerful glue for gears not come loose with the speed. awesome car, thanks for sharing.
Great work as always Raz. Interesting that you’ve developed new springs. It was possible to get heavier springs for the X0-1, I have a set for mine.
What motor you use? TIA
I'm building the limitless v2 with 2028-1100 KV motor, Can I use the stock drive shaft ? I mean the main shaft in the middle of the car?
אחלה תוכן תודה אחינו 👍👍👍
Happy New year and thank you for all your 2022 videos.
I wanna ask you, what would you advise as a first car, roller or kit to enter into your hobby of Speed car. I'm not really into buying any RTR to keep 6 pieces of it ehehe, but maybe that's the way. Cheers and thanks again for all you share with us.
Arrma Infraction!
Thanks for ur fast reply. I will check it deeper.
@@RC_Ludz_N_Co No matter what you get, go for 6S. You'll likely be underwhelmed by 3s and 4s.
Another speed Demon By Raz.. Spectacular build!! Thanks 4 your videos man!!
Nice work Raz! That’s the way to start the year! 👍👍👍
Thanks brother happy new year!🎊
I have a 1721 I would like to hit 160 mph what gearing should I go with
Well done Raz & I agree with you 100%…show the car without the body 😊
Don't be petty everyone, this is a hobby for fun! Yay!!!
I actually completely agree with you. I completely forgot about this.
This is correct
