The finish on the completed tool is beautiful. I also like the details you add to personalize each piece you make. Also good that your son helps. He is learning many skills and will always remember these times with you no matter what he does in life.

Superb workmanship and very well produced videos too. I have a Taig Lathe and CNC but the Sherline machines look very good. I particularly like the CNC Lathe with the stepper motor you were using for the threading operation. These videos have given me a lot of ideas!

It looks like a fun project and the ones from Sherline are quite expensive. Only wish I had CNC - I would probly take a lot longer to make with out it, but many thanks for sharing.

Todas as modificações e melhorias foram desenvolvidas por mim também, inclusive as porcas dos fusos pra não ter desgaste precoce entre outras coisas que deixam a máquina bem legal. Nice finish. The threading will probably be a problem for me. I did buy that attachment but never used it. I am considering turning down the spindle of a drill chuck I got to make a drill press attachment. While I have a drill press marking precise positions is always an issue for me. It never comes out perfect.

Very nice work Sir. When you test for runout. How much do you get. I'm using taig collets and very much want to improve my machine by making some of your tool holders.
Whem you to do this one for your Taig is same thing Timoth, the result is perfet by this way and you save a lot of money. With low diameter, the radial and axial runout is inexpresive.
In this video, I'm using 1060 steel, in my other video you can see are my compact equipment designed to sharpen a number of types of cutter, especially for turning. Thanks you again. Luiz

+ORLEI BRITO Orlei não tem contra indicação não, qualquer máquina pode ser adaptada pra ser controlada numericamente e o que diferencia é a potência de motores e drivers. Um torno de bancada quando bem adaptado fica ótimo, deverá ser levado em conta o estado da máquina as folgas etc. Os Sherline são ótimos apenas pra micro e pequenas usinagens limitando bem os serviços gerais e já os de bancada resolvem bem. Vou tentar achar você no Facebook. Abraços

Waldenir eu não tenho máquinas grandes que permitam fazer um barramento de mini torno, mas toda via qualquer empresa de usinagem profissional pode fazer pra você. Outra idéia é você comprar um torninho usado pelo mercado livre e fazer adaptação no seu projeto. Abraços

hy luiz. nice work there, i really enjoy it, what cnc softwere do you use? mach-3? is that you make design first before turning on lathe like threading etc ?

Boa noite Orlei, normalmente só nos EUA, por sorte um amigo meu que trouxe de lá colocou a venda hoje no Mercado Livre, se você der sorte ainda não vendeu, esses tornos vende muito rápido.
Coloca na busca torno Sherline no mercado livre, o torno está p´reparado pra receber CNC e está com um ótimo preço.

Orlei não tem contra indicação não, qualquer máquina pode ser adaptada pra ser controlada numericamente e o que diferencia é a potência de motores e drivers.
Um torno de bancada quando bem adaptado fica ótimo, deverá ser levado em conta o estado da máquina as folgas etc.
Os Sherline são ótimos apenas pra micro e pequenas usinagens limitando bem os serviços gerais e já os de bancada resolvem bem.

Waldenir eu não tenho máquinas grandes que permitam fazer um barramento de mini torno, mas toda via qualquer empresa de usinagem profissional pode fazer pra você. Outra idéia é você comprar um torninho usado pelo mercado livre e fazer adaptação no seu projeto.
