Ha. Ive never seen or even thought about getting seeds from squash like that. Awesome. I do a similar trick with Cucuzza squash but they are basically a gord
@ricgarden7394, Thank you for commenting. We also dry our gourds this way. We have found that we can leave them outside to dry and in the weather all year long with no tending. Very attractive to us. And as you see, the seeds are perfectly preserved. Thanks again!
I’m in Arkansas too and curious what region you grow in? I’m south East and always looking for people that grow in the same hot and humid weather we do. 😬 It’s still June and it’s already so hot and humid here!
Greetings it is nice to meet you. We love to share best practices. We are on the far south eastern border of Central Arkansas. About 25 miles from the Missouri border. The hot weather just started for us here. The hot temp plants like peppers are still only a couple inches tall. I put them in around the middle of May. Now that it is 65° + at night 🌙, we are looking for the growth to begin. Do you have a channel I can see?

Right. Simple natural process. You can pretty much hang it up and forget about it. Thanks for stopping by. 😊✌️

Did you just let them dry out on the vine? Where did you store it over winter to make sure the seeds didn’t mold?
Once mature (the squash will become hard), we pull and hang in the shade throughout all weather conditions until time to plant. Thanks!
