I've tried it twice and it's very addictive. The urge to re-dose is so strong it takes a lot of willpower to resist. Also as an introvert it's ability to make me feel confident and outgoing was like finding the answer I'd always been looking for, but it's all a lie and drugs will destroy you. Stay away.

Somehow my mother is still using responsibly at the age of 65. She's in great health too lmao. Me on the other hand, I'll be lucky to see 30 at this rate. The trap is needing it to not fall asleep at work. Hard to quit when you only have 2 days off a week to recover.

My whole life I've dealt with addiction... But it's always the people I love. My uncle... Then my step dad...my friends...My ex husband is addicted to heroine. I have worked with drug addicts and dealt with it for so long. It's killing me watching the people I love the most always die or lose their livelihood to drugs. Now I'm dealing with my daughter's meth addiction... And I'm just so dang tired of it. Addiction doesn't just suck out the life of the addict but everyone who's involved with that addict. It's like a contagious cancer of depression, chaos, and sadness. The worst part is that this "chemical" response is so strong in their brain... They are willing to hurt you and everyone else to get it. I don't understand why anyone ever even tries drugs knowing that it can cause so much pain and destruction.

I used heroin during my first two years of h.s., but I made myself go through the sickness after every time, because I didn't want to have to use just to feel better and I didn't want to develop an addiction so it was a reminder why not to keep chasing the high. After a while the sickness wasn't worth the high.

It's crazy to think people suffer 30+ years instead of a few days of pain. Chronic pain is nearly impossible to treat without pain killers. I lose it to 24/7 pain after a week or so, to be completely honest. I feel for so many people who get out of the hospital wanting more.

Anyone can get clean and stay clean. Remember, it's a mindset. They taught me to change my way of thinking, and now all of my energy goes towards doing positive thibgs to better my life and that alone makes me never want to go back to using or drinking again.

"... after time it will go away." Even if this be true in the case of every single former meth addict (and I haven't seen any evidence that it is), the length of time required to reach such a stage of recovery will undoubtedly vary from one individual to the next. I have known meth addicts who were clean for years and still had cravings, but others who did not. Some have quit meth simply by going to NA, others through other means of abstinence, like rehab or jail.
EVERY aspect of addiction, treatment, recovery, etc., is going to be influenced -- even if only slightly, but sometimes very heavily -- by individual differences in personality and so on. Genetics must be accounted for along with environment; a meth addict is a unique human being just like anybody else. There are no universal solutions, but rather only general rules, averages, probabilities, and outliers.
Recovery is possible for every meth addict, I think. The question is how and how long. Obviously, current treatment options need to be expanded and built upon, and new approaches experimented with until we get more innovations and breakthroughs, because the meth crisis is still raging. Finally: what about PREVENTION?

My aunt was addicted to Morphin. The drug was prescribed to her by a doctor when she was in her 30's and she continued getting the prescription until the doctor passed away and my aunt was in her late 60's. By 70, she had no choice but to sober up. My aunt lived to be 83. She looked like an old addict but Morphin didn't kill her right away. It did cause her to lose her hair, to become swollen in her legs, she lost her teeth and was wrinkled in her 40's, and her eyes sunk into her skull. She looked like a walking skeleton from the waist up but she had no leg definition, her knees were no longer visible with the bloating. Her legs were tubular but not fat because she was so underweight.

I tried meth for about a few months. Didn’t like it to much. My buddy actually gave me some. Like a good amount. A big chunk of rock. Anyway I tried it one day. And didn’t really like it. So I just left it there. Then Covid hit. And I was watching breaking bad. And I remembered I had this meth. So I busted it out and did it for a few months. I don’t know how much is to much as I had never did it. But I thought I was gonna have a heart attack a few times. I didn’t sleep for a few days. And yeah after a while u start seeing stuff. I was trying to sleep and I was seeing evil images. Which is weird cause I’m not into religion or satanic stuff. But there it was clear as day.

@@makaylahoag5272 its unlikely you will die from heroin withdrawal if you're in detox being monitored and have the proper care. in terms of physical withdrawal heroin is worse but once you're off of it, the cravings are nowhere near as strong as meth. there are people sober for 10 years who still end up running right back to meth. its because meth becomes associated with everything pleasurable and it becomes everything you ever wanted, you never forget that feeling.

I'm only saying that bc, your brain at 63 days is likely still not recovered at all, and u still have urges and temptations/ thoughts to use all the time.. like she's saying.. some ppl can even have panick attacks and other symptoms for months maybe even a year or more, after stopping meth... it is so addictive that, most ppl literally become addicted after the first use..
