What a great era we live in, where some guy in his room can give world class commentary and instant max engine level recap to virtually every game in existence, be it a Fischer or a candidates game that ended right now. And do so brilliantly and consistently. Kudos to agad, the UA-cam chess curator.

That was due to the unusual e5 in the Sicilian. He tried to trick fabi into taking the poisoned bishop, but didn't fall for it and got the draw. Up for grabs with 13 rounds to go.

@@aaronchan1088 for sure,he played a dubious line, but then Fabi would have been well prepared for any standard line. I think Nakamura knows that Fabi has the edge in classical, so he had to make it scrappy. No increment helped a lot too, you can see Fabi isn't a fast player. find it strange that Fabi, after drawing with Magnus in 18' then getting destroyed in Rapid, has not been able to think a bit quicker in Classical so that when he reaches a critical position he would have a bit more time to find a excellent move to at least put more pressure on or win some material That move K-g2 smacks of trying to not lose something in a complicated position instead of looking deeper. Botvinnik always said one should work hard to strengthen your weakest ability. Advice from the Past is always good advice!

The games starts at 14h/2p.m in Brazil. At least a good thing of being South American. Gotta only buy a new phone after today's theft we suffered 😅

This game was such a shame
I rly wanted to see fabi get that win with that advantage after Hikaru offered the room sacrifice
But alas it was too little time to find the win. I like Hikaru but fabi rly did so many things well

What about Rb5 attacking the Queen instead of Kg2? At 12:28

@6:25 why is it better for the bishop to take the black pawn of f7?? I realize that you'll have a back rank issue if you take the queen with the white rook on d1. But just move one of the pawns forward, no? and your king will be safe! still with a queen + bishop against a two rooks + bishop. Probably still losing, but its a lot fairer.
