I used to format my own books, then I got Vellum and now I also have Atticus (Dave Chesson.) Atticus just keeps getting better. It will surpass Vellum soon.
As far as I know, tracing an image doesn't get you out of needing permission to use the image. A traced image still holds the copyright.
I'm excited to check out Atticus. Does it work on a Mac as well as PC. Traced images are still copyright protected 100% but making a different version of an image ... your own version can be ok.
@@BookLaunchers Yep, Atticus works on PC and Mac. There is a browser version and a downloaded version. Somehow, the downloaded version is still attached to Chrome. So it works on any OS. With Atticus, you can customize themes. Photos to start the chapter, I don't know what they're called. The photo for chapter breaks. They can be customized, as with all the fonts you use for chapter headings. It's pretty cool. People have come up with some amazing looks.
That's really cool. I don't know if we would ever tie it into our work at Book Launchers but I would love to offer it as a solution to our clients who are in love with Google Docs because there are so many issues with Google Docs although I understand the benefits as well. Thanks for your overview.
