@@Andy-Pimagine paying them from Ur wages to do that
Basically every country in this world. Find me a comment section about a country anywhere in the world where people are not complaining about the government all over the comments
- The pay is roughly that of a shelf-stacker at ALDI.
- The accommodation is so bad that the MOD cannot legally charge you rent for it in some cases, and illegal migrants from some of the poorest parts of the world set it on fire in protest.
- The MOD washes its hands of you utterly the minute you leave, letting you rely on the charity of the British public. Who to be fair are very open-handed when it comes to that, but that's not the point.
- You will have your leave cancelled to cover for striking civil servants wanting more pay. Said civil servants already earn considerably more than you.
- You may well get legally thrown under the bus for doing what you were ordered decades later.
- You are forbidden from unionising or going on strike, so have no chance of redressing any grievances or improving your lot.
- Capita are running the recruitment process for the Army, and they simply cannot get anything right at all. Ever.
- The RAF were discovered to be running a racially discriminatory hiring policy against white men. Not very sensible when they make up over 80% of the population, and you have a recruitment crisis.
- We have screwed our young over with debt, unaffordable housing, and zero-hour jobs. Unsurprisingly, they see little reason to fight for a country that is treating them so poorly.
You’ve put this beautifully, though out of pure curiosity what is capital doing (Ik they have a lot of contracts with MOD) and how are they screwing up?
@@Awaisnad Copy and pasting part of my comment - I tried to join but Capita took a year to get me from the initial stages to a face to face medical. I failed on the face to face medical because they decided that me having depression in 2013 due to the death of my father was enough to discard me.
why would white youth fight for a country that repeatedly describes patriotic white natives as "racists" and practice 2 tier policing against them and promote woke "anti white" policies against them. they have zero reason to fight for this country that hates them and prefers illegal migrants over them for housing
Hi mate, I read your comment and felt compelled to send one of support. How different was my service. I joined in 1972, age 16 and boy was it different back then. I felt a part of a big family. Sure we had a far more disciplined service, but we "got it" and had pride. Many of the "old sweats" had been in WW2 and you just could not ask for a better, no stress gang. The public, most of whom had done national service were 100 per cent behind us, you could hitch hike home by just carrying your hold all. Pay was dreadful but housing and food good. Then it began to change and by the 80s the old lags had gone and the new breed seemed to loose the edge. More moaning and more career focus took over. By the 90s it had gone. I knew it was time to leave when I saw my first SNCO with a brief case.... WTF.. Sad. its easy to f-ck something up and very hard to put right.. Keep low and move fast mate! VBRegards S

I always thought I would join the U.K army when I was a kid. Growing up in a small town outside Cambridge, between 2002 and 2015, I had friends, a strong sense of community, lovely locals, Church every Sunday and most of all, a culture and country to be proud of. This is no longer the case and hasn't been for over a decade. The U.K literally sold its soul to globalism, it rejected all the aspects of itself that made it great and then asks itself why it can't find its identity as a nation anymore. I would have gladly laid down my life for the country I knew, but that country no longer exists, and I think many young people are aware of this reality. I could say a lot more, but what would it change? nothing, because the truth is that the majority of Brits are not willing to stand up against the evil that has entered our shores, I suspect they never will. If any Brit claims that the country is better than it was, they are either fantastically ignorant or have deluded themselves to dangerous degree. Tragically, most fall into the latter.

People can’t seem to fathom that a bigger working class means more revenue in taxes for the gov
as someone who applied i can tell u as a matter of fact one of the biggest reasons is how awful the application process is
theres an organization called mpct which is a college meant to prepare teens for military training and almost everyone there had some kind of problem with their application. otherwise, there was really no point being in the college itself, since if ur old enough to join the college, then ur old enough to join the military. the medical part of the application is what holds a lot of people back, anything would get flagged up by capita.. from small cases of acne to signs of mild asthma from a young age. despite the medical, the application process is still very long and most people either changed their minds or lost interest completely
theres also nothing to inspire patriotism in this country... i walk down the street and see more rainbow flags than union jacks..
The medical is actually ridiculous. Most of my friends in the forces had to lie about their medical to get in because, contrary to what the armed forces believe, the perfect body does not exist. This also creates the issue that a core value of the British Military is integrity and half the officers had to lie to get in. Something needs to change
A dramatic shift in thinking. Young people today can see through the propaganda.
The British military is mostly an OFFENSIVE military, as we saw in Iraq, where they invaded a country not threatening the UK. This is one of the most important reasons why young Britons do not see joining the military as a very well advised career move.
I don’t want to die for 1sr@el
Free Palestine 🇵🇸
Let alone also Africa too in secret
Wrong. We don't care about that, we simply see how the state doesn't defend our land so why would we defend the state?!
@@CraigTheBrute-yf7no Who? 🤔
Well that's not the reason is it? because young people were either not around then or too young to remember. Iraq was a very, very short war. Even if that was true then that's the vegan mentality of faux mortality. You typed this on a phone of which it's parts were primarily made in a sweat shop in a poverty riddled country. Don't pretend it's anything to do with humanitarian morals when you probably work for a CEO that funds and profits from these wars.
Just be honest people aren't joining because it's not their temperament and they never would even if our country got invaded and their families got attacked. Not everyone wants to be a paramedic or a firefighter or police officer. Not everyone wants to be a delivery driver. Not everyone wants to be a nurse or a care worker ect. And the ones who normally would join aren't because there's no reason. There's no war on. What are you going to do when you're in? That's why
Because my ancestors who fought for this country during world war 2 say they wouldn’t fight again if they could seeing how this country has become, when they say things like those who died would be turning in their graves and they wouldn’t fight again it says it all. What’s there to fight for ? I give all to the system and I receive little back from the system so when the time comes and the system needs my sacrifice then I will give it the opposite.
Because in the age of mass information people realise ur just dying for elites own goals and problems they want to sort out
This age you speak of is a gift all over the world people now see how things really are.

You could be a standard 8 hour for a day but exercise in horrendous conditions for 24hours, you're given an hour or two to rest but who actually sleeps properly during thst?
Recruitment is done by a horrific civillian company, infact a lot is done by civillian companies and they are renown for bad reviews and mismanagement.
The army is still needing to catch up to modern standards on so much yet those at the MoD refuse to listen...mismanagement and ignorance prevailing as always.
So many reasons sadly. Its why so many are leaving too
Yeah. I work for one such civilian company that took over military catering and they are rubbish. Management is a nightmare. There's a a huge lack of cooperation and communication between supervisors and the Mess Manager.
The lack of KP staff in the JRM, ensures that me and my colleague will be forever helping out every evening if one or two of them go sick or on leave (there's only four KPs there compared to six or seven they had previously and they never got properly replaced).
Also, getting the proper amount of cleaning chemicals is beyond a joke.
We've constantly ordered the vital liquids we need for cleaning surfaces and the platewash machines, never got them or they were sent to other messes and were never told.
Our steriliser sink is knackered whilst the civilian repair companies argue over who's job it is to fix it.
Why would foreigners join British army..

The fact that you have no funds for ammunition and barely any equipment says a lot. Plus, they aren't exactly tough. 😂 they run for their lives when up against equals.
There is more equipment and ammunition on the streets of London than what the British army have. 😂
Google who is more important, Muhammad or Jesus. Read what western academics say.
Mohammed and Raja definitely won’t be fighting for Britain 🇬🇧 UK they probably more loyal to their curry house or restaurant then the country.😂
Their wars are always unjust. Who wants to join that 🗯
It’s pretty simple all of the recruitment campaigns are designed to appeal to people who wouldn’t want to join in the first place. Instead of trying to convince people who a. Don’t want to join and b. Probably aren’t cut out for it they need to go back to focus on appealing to the people who would actually consider it.
You'll know a war is imminent when the adverts are full of working class white men again.
When the rich and arms companies and politicians send them self and their children we will happily go with them until then no chance
The current crop of Military age people are what can only politely be described as "delicate doilies".. And then there's the weirdly skinny or morbidly obese. 🤔
A large percentage of people living in the UK were born abroad. By joining the British army, they would be fighting for a country that isn't theirs. Nationalism and patriotism are now, in many ways, synonymous with racism. Add to this diversity, equity, and inclusion. The fact you can now no longer even smoke a cigarette on a military base or ship, which, last I looked, was still legal and taxable. The pay is crap. Many of the weapons are substandard and are more about keeping British industry in work than giving the serviceman the best tools for the job. On top of all this, many kids leaving school now seem more certain of their pronouns than they are of basic human sexuality.
As a white working class person , why would I fight and die for a country that increasingly shuts me out and prefers immigrant needs over my own ... If these immigrants are British too , well then join the British army .. I'm not fighting and dying for them ..

Our government barely takes care of our veterans as it is and the British Army is severely outdated and underfunded and wastes millions or billions on advertisements thinking a bit of CGI is going to make people want to serve a system that does not care about them there is a large disconnect between the older soldiers nearing the end of their service and newer soldiers and recruits what usually happens is people are normally driven away or drop out and if anyone with a higher rank hates you in the early stages they can just practically end your career before it starts and just bully you out I honestly do not blame younger folks for not wanting to serve in the army when there's more promising and less stressful careers out there that doesn't take a toll on your mental health and pays more than the army would

Foreigners still fought and died for the empire though. Don’t forget that.
Because you are all racist, we are not fighting for you.
As someone who has studied history, our thankfully extended period of peace has come at the expense of forgetting just how frequent wars and battles are. Sure it’s good to be in a time where everyone is incredibly conscientious and don’t want to fight “wars for the rich” “they aren’t killers” etc. but just like WW1 and WW2 when the UK stepped in, it was heavily on moral grounds. And as we have seen recently, there are elements like ISIS, Putin etc which you sadly cannot negotiate with and war may be the only necessary evil to stop them.
A sad reality is that in the real world we can wish for all the love and peace that we want, but some people and societies will never see it that way.
My overall point, is that if as a society we can barely stomach the concept of fighting in a war while there are other societies that can, in the unlikely event we face such entities we are more likely to lose as a result.
Never forget that part of what made ww1 and ww2 so devastating is not just the losses, but the fact the UK had so few "regular" soilders in their forces, that they had to lean on regular civilans to enlist. People who put their jobs and lives aside to undertake being a solider and going into combat. Those men were never soilders at heart but became soliders to protect their loved ones and their country.
Very good comment
As of 2019 every regiment/corps was around 13% undermanned according to the 4 monthly Official Sensitive document that is able to be released to the public (if authorised). I served a short term in a non-combat cap badge then left early as a ESL due to job role disagreements. British Army is more then just guns and basic training, some of the job roles are enjoyable when you get to regiment.
I live in UK as foreigner with settled status and reading this comments makes me sad how imperial powerful wealthy britain decline over the years. I experienced hatred from my teamleaders at work but I realize that this relationship can be applied also from politicians to population with very close similarities. I created opinion that western world is damaging itself. British society is very divided and heading to self-destruction. But same situation is happening in east europe too. I do not see Britain positively in future. In might enter into civil war in future with minorities. Rich end powerful destroyed what used to be British values.
If they want you to fight for the rich and elite, at least pay better.
@@user-qe3zq4zc5r Here I am at 25 with a 3 bed house which I let out some sucker who is paying my mortgage, despite most of country living with their parents still at 30. And I have never even been in a war
Yes you would have thought being a mercenary would pay better
Hard times create strong men and soft times create soft men.
Go back to curry land
Becoming an individualistic society is definitely a major factor here. I was in the Army for 10 years and absolutely loved it.
Whilst absolutely everything possible should be done to avoid a conflict between NATO and Russia, national service is a great idea and would serve to meet the needs of the military while developing young people with skills and positive attributes at the same time.
It should also be understood that the only reason Soldiers are required to take someone’s life is to save the lives of many more others.
Afghanistan would probably be a better place today if NATO forces had stayed there.
But regardless, I would absolutely recommend a few years in the military of perhaps a full career to every UK citizen. There are experiences in the military you just can’t get anywhere else.
Bore off coloniser, the Afghanis don’t want you, fk the British Army.
Wish i was leader of the country id treat our soldiers like the heroes they truly are
Dying over politicians is one of the stupidest thing we have normalised
Because it’s a woke joke focused on ticking boxes rather than recruiting the best people
They do realise not all roles are front line infantry right?
When you leave your just back to the beginning of life again with no help or support apart from some charities half of which are corrupt and out for themselves, don’t join.
Ten years ago when I applied I failed medical and everyday I’m grateful for it
They're scared and don't realise they would, ultimately, be fighting for themselves.
If the UK introduced a National Guard which train and fight only in the UK Heartland then yes many may join because they would be doing what they believe in.
Defending their Homes, Family and Loved Ones directly without the need of going abroad and dying for example in Berlin, when it’s their own territory they want to help not a foreign country.
We already have one. They are known as territorials.
@@Nick-zp3ub The UK army reserve is not the same as the national guard, also they changed the name from the territorial army to the army reserve 10 years ago. the army reserve arent UK based only, they can be deployed globally alongside active troops. a true national guard like each US state as well as many European nations would be a good idea tho.
@@tanyard Agreed, although i was under the impression some american national guards were deployed to iraq. What we need in england is something similar to the home guard or american state defence militias. Anyone could join, but the officers and ncos should be retired veterans
Years ago you joined to see the world….well we’ve got cheap plane travel and you tube now….so thats not an inducement anymore..
Why is the UK so keen to fight russia, stop warmongering
Ow if they short
Rishi ,boris ,any other elite
Enlist your kids nd put them in front lines set a example
In otherwords you want us to enlist our kids while yours sit at home nd take a shyte on golden toilet 🚻
You need 120,000 soldiers to fight Russia!? wow your not wven hiding it anymore. I was considering re-joining but not when you just need canon fodder for a war. Absolutely shocked by this article.
The facts are, the main bulk of the younger generation are all about self-service, the thought of serving for others is absolutely alien to them.
Because the country doesn't serve them when none of them can afford housing and get cramped into Victorian style shared accommodation, no young person can afford to pay for anything meaningful because all of their money goes down the drain on rent, they're all just working to survive and on top of that the NHS has massive waiting times often with multiple cancelations.
Me, and everyone I know, including people earning average or slightly above average UK salaries can't afford to live in their own flat without other strangers chipping in and can't afford to save up for a house when rents are £1500-2000+ per month.
How can any young person even thinking about having children and starting a family when they can barely afford to survive themselves and have to resort to living with strangers to split the rents?
The answer is they don't, this is the main reason birth rates are falling too.
Others have never done anything for me.
The main bulk of the older generation are now self entitled lazy cowards who think they own the young as property.
Happy to disappoint you geriatrics
2:25 right on spot!!!
No
Off course a ragheads going to say that
The only one who wanted to fight was an Irishman from Northern Ireland lmao the not so great empire has truly fallen flat on its face
In the past you could walk down a clean street, full of British people that would greet you, little worry of crime. Nowadays a number of streets are no longer even British, full of immigrants, dirty and unsafe. Walking through such streets today, you don’t tell yourself “I’d fight to defend that”.
Coming home to find out the child isn't yours. She won't let you see the children hence you have to soend thousands in court fees, etcc
That’s very specific bro
There seems to be some very uneducated comments. If you don't want to join the Army due to some ideological reason, that is fine and up to you.
However, things like pay and time arent really correct.
For pay, could it be better - aure...you won't ever be on rockstar wages. However, a lot of items are heavily subsidised from accomodation to food. If you save correctly you can get a deposit on a house in a few years fairly easily. The reason why a lot don't is lads get the cash on pay day and make a lot of silly purchases (hence the term 'millionaires weekend').
Also, whilst the pension isn't as good as the 75 or 05 was, it is still very good and conpletely free. If you do your full 22 years you will have your pension sorted.
Onto time, yes on exercise or deployment the time commitment is a lot. However, in barracks (day to day) the hours are pretty good. If you don't count sports etc then you are probably looking at about 23hrs of actual work a week if you get a late start on Monday, don't work Wednesday afternoon due to a sports afternoon, an hour of PT every day and early knock off Friday.
The Armed forces aren't for everyone but you can still have a good life by joining up.
The pay and compensation is bad compared to USA.
And go and fight in illegal wars???Why would they???Brits got their arses handed to them in Iraq and Afghanistan😂
Lol - good factual commentary! We should all understand how the sausages are made in the factories - wars , dominance , politics, do not follow straight paths but twists and turns.
Read these comments and you’ll understand. The government isn’t even trying to push back against the observations made,
So maybe these people have a point.
Allow people with weight issues to join. You don’t need to put them in uniform, just let us do PT until we have lost weight. I would join is you accepted my with my high BMI. It’s the discipline you get in the Army that really helps you stay on track.
Probaly why they took the swimming test out, just get the people in and try to train them to see how they do.
My lad was a big lad at 134 kilograms and decided he wanted to Join as an officer after university was a bust , he has tried but still can only get down to 103 and needs to get to 94 to qualify under bmi rules . He can only motivate himself so much but as he is on his own keeps falling off the treadmill . He needs help and if there was a pre training pool to attend he would with this discipline achieve his weight. As his father who served in the 90s I have tried to dissuade him fighting for Zog but it’s his life and I won’t stand in his way . With dei and being white he will face an uphill challenge to progress his career which will disillusion him , being sent to fight globalist wars for resources will I think sit heavy upon him too.
