Miro, I absolutely love this. You are so charismatic, knowledgeable, talented and likeable it's ridiculous, lol. A 2+hour video would be fantastic, even if you talk about nothing but hair braiding, but I don't want you to spend the next 18 years editing.
Btw: how about a (3hr) video all about Hoya carnosas? I am fascinated about all the many carnosa cultivars and types. And I've found they're very cool temp tolerant (which helps as I'm always trying to conserve heating oil over the winter).

Miro, I admire that you are very involved in raising your hoyas. I see channels about hoyas and they are all starters in cups. Your plants are so gorgeous. You have such healthy beautiful plants. Even your easter cactus is so long with lovely blooms. My plants don't seem to want to take off.
what can i do? I bought curtsii twice and they both died. bellas 3 times. they died. I don't let they dry but it's like they don't acclimate very well. Ideas?
the last ones I bought I think came with flat mites. they just pinched off and died.

I filled a deep basin/bucket with a mixture of water, alcohol, peppermint and/or neem oil and castile soap, covered the soil with tissue and taped it up so that when I tip the whole pot and plant upside-down, very little soil escapes. Then I soak the foliage upside down in the bucket for about 30 mins. I have the plant resting on long cooking chopsticks so that the soil doesn't get wet. I did this once or twice and that seemed to have got rid of them. I haven't had mealy bugs for a couple of years. I had them on my Hindu Rope Hoyas which as you can imagine is a nightmare to kill with all those curly leaves.

I lived in Iowa :) Heating doesn't concern me as much, there are plenty of plants in the room, and the room is not too big, plus I am in there all the time so we keep each other warm :D I do live with my family :)

Hello, have you heard of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? Watching you show your funky physical bending was just another reason I connect with you. Lol.
You might want to look into EDS it could possibly explain some things that you may not have answers for with regard to your physical health. I have EDS and so does my Son.
Keep up the amazing channel, I love your videos, especially the deep dives about certain species and regions they come from.

I do have a question! I do have a question! Do you know if Hoya wallichii and campanulata are the same? In my head they are different hoyas, but someone told me these last days that they were reclassified under the same name... And I got more confused trying to find the answer... (still think they are different hoyas, but not sure what they call wallichii and campanulata anymore😅). Help!

    • @BasiePlants

To my knowledge, Hoya campanulata and Hoya wallichii are separate species. Hoya cystiantha has been synonimized with Hoya campanulata, I believe, and Hoya campanulata is the correct name to use :)

Okay, so everyone's worried about electricity/light during the energy crisis, but nobody seems to care about gas/heating? Sorry, but Hoyas can do very well in complete darkness for at least a week. What they will not tolerate, though, is freezing temperatures for more than a couple of minutes.

    • @BasiePlants

Hoyas can do well in darkness for more than a week. I will not say for how long, everyone would think I am a monster :D But I think heating won't become a huge issue - past winters have been mild and even with minimal heating I can keep my room at around 20 degrees. Old house, thick walls + new isolation, not a big space... :)
