- Frollo February- FF- that was why I held off on publishing this one sooner.
This is such an odd video to be making this announcement on, but oh well. I'm not particularly that stoked about making these videos anymore. The Scar and Zira ones were really just things I wanted to make for the fun of it- I had no idea the Scar video would take off and some of you would want more of it- which I love, don't get me wrong. I’ll still continue to make videos of my favourite characters but that won't be daily or weekly- hell, maybe not even every 2 to 5 months. (Not like my upload schedule has been that great to begin with 💀)
I want to do things I really enjoy, like reviewing movies (cringe I know) or uploading gaming vids with my friends. These current vids are alright every once in awhile, but to me, they can be a little repetitive (in terms of quality and overall topics). Especially the titles, which a lot of people seem to click on specifically because of how they’re worded.
I don't know how to properly put it, but these videos aren't really my thing anymore- in terms of making them. I’m not gonna immediately drop the channel or stop making these videos, but sometime in the future, I will. But as of right now, they just won't be as frequent. There are still some characters I want to get out of the way, so there might be a few that are uploaded relatively soon. After that though, you’ll start to notice me drift off.
GOOD NEWS tho, if you care, I plan on doing a recording session with my friends soon once the new Outlast game drops- I have been a fan of the Outlast games for around 8 to 7 years now- So hopefully I'll come off as relatively happy once I get the videos out- as compared to my usual composure. Holy shit. Looking back on this movie, current-day Disney doesn’t even have the balls to do this sort of stuff anymore - especially with all of the religious themes and whatnot
Same with Mufasa's death. The scene of Simba trying to wake his dad up (who is now a corpse) is something Disney wouldn't even dare try nowadays. And dammit, I made myself cry again.

@@user-ud6mp3en3i Hades is definitely one of the best, but frollo (in my opinion) takes the cake, like in the novel he attempts to sexually assault Esmeralda, in the movie he gropes her and is the most realistic villain Disney has made, a man in high power using it for his own gain. A friend of mine has been through something similar

I don't know much about Tony Jay outside of this movie but I feel like I've listened to a master at work. He became a legend through this movie alone and the best part is, that was his goal when he took this part. He said he was hoping it would make him immortal and all these years later, Frollo is still the greatest Disney villain of all time.
He didn't have to go this hard for Megabyte in Reboot, either, but he did. It's just something he did, being a theatre actor and all that. Like for his minor role in the Beauty and the Beast, they literally just used his AUDITION TAPE. It was that good.

He is definitely the best villain. He is full of lust and rather than reflecting on his own sin and trying to overcome his lust, his pride demands that he blames another, so he blames Esmeralda and tries to kill her. However, his lust is so strong that several times it overrides his pride and he demands that Esmeralda be his even when he blames her for his sin. He blasphemes God throughout the film by claiming to be working in his name. Bro is a excellent example of an AntiChrist
Which makes him a perfect example of an actual medieval holy man. Using God as an excuse to indulge in excess and exploit the uneducated masses.
I really like how at the very end they made Frollo as "monster"-looking as your human being can possibly get. It's like his inner demon, his true self is bursting out of the human shell with an orange glow of a hellfire. Quasimodo is ugly, but he's a bit cute and smooth in his design, while Frollo at the end looks like a straight up scary demonic maniac. The movie goes like "some may think Quasi looks monstrous. But we're about to show you how a *REAL* monster looks like, and boy oh boy, Quasimodo is a far, FAR cry from that"

This is honestly one of the darkest comments I've heard from any Disney villain.
Also that end scene where he’s almost “swaddled” by Frollo’s cape in the way he was when frollo was actually trying to kill him as a child, and the fact that he tries to throw him the same way. Love this movie ugh

Now that you have mentioned Ashfur, Frollo is literally a mix of Brokenstar, Tigerstar and Ashfur.
Brokenstar- Hates being touched
Tigerstar- Got an half-clan deputy killed and tried killing two Half-clan apprentices and an Half-clan warrior because of their heritage
Ashfur- Fire scene, and a simp
Edit: Maybe a mix of Thistleclaw and Rainflower because...
Thistleclaw- Doesn't care about his son (I think), simp, and Spottedleaf's Heart stuff
Rainflower- Stopped caring about her son after he broke his jaw

I haven't read any of the newer books but I have been keeping up with the lore, apparently Ashfur has become like 10x a villain than be originally was too

I still remember when this movie came out (yeah I am that old), and now looking back at it it's sad that we won't get this level and class of animation and voice performances in a Disney movie ever again. Honestly it wouldn't even need to be for children at this point. Can we just get dark complex Characters like Frollo in some adult animation movie? Could we get tales like les miserable, or the phantom of the opera in animated form, something dark and gritty? I really hope there would be someone who makes movies like this again some day 😢❤

Looking back on this movie… holy crap. When he was looking around for a place to put down the baby and then they hinted at what was going to happen through the MUSIC!! In the background you can hear the song go “Dies Irae” which is a very famous Latin hymn for the dead, you will most likely recognize the tune as the theme of The Shining, but they were telling the audience that he was going to try and kill the baby even before he saw the well!!! Damn Disney, you used to be masters but now you’re clowns.

With other amazing villains, I would use the term "I love *insert name here*". I love Tai Lung, I love Death (Last Wish), etc. But with Frollo, while he is just as good a villain as my other favorites, it just feels so very wrong to say "I love Frollo". He is just such a seriously evil villain in such real ways. Such an amazing villain.

my favorite part of hellfire is when frollo very likely gets a chance at redemption from God Himself when a strange out of nowhere guard backlit by ethereal light, obscuring his face informs him that esmeralda, the source of all his conflict, the cause of his strife, has escaped, almost immediately after he prays to God to rid him of esmeralda, but he just doesnt take it, in fact he just snaps there, his prayers were answered, but in the end he wasnt strong enough to take the chance, and wasnt wise enough to recognize it
