Can people shut up with "this is not black" and "not even a blue in xxx". Its simply not true. Almost all ski resort rate the slopes the same way now a days. The US or Canada does not have some special rating format where everything under 45 degrees is blue. Having skied both in Europe, the us, Canada and Japan there is barely a difference. Even though this run has some flat zones it has some very difficult parts. Therefore it naturally has to be black.

I did it a few years ago. No way it's 16km, more like 10km. Only a black run due to the length, more like a challenging blue really. Fabulous if you get the right ski conditions, we went at Easter, were lucky as still lots of snow but got a bit slushy later in the day.
It's exactly 8.8 kilometers, and a vertical drop of 1650 meters, of which 300 meters vertical and 3000 meters horizontal distance are relatively flat roads. Not that special in the alps. Of course the french are massively exaggerating for marketing purposes.

That’s the most boring, chaotic run I’ve ever watched. Straight ice and Jerry’s everywhere. Also I’ve been snowboarding for ten years and never understood the problem with telling someone you’re going to pass them on a cat track. Just because you’re in front and are going slow as fuck doesn’t mean you get to cause a traffic jam on the mountain. I’m aware that the people down hill have the right of way but that doesn’t mean you take the WHOLE way and be an asshole. Having the right of way doesn’t give you free reign to do as you please. Weather your down hill or uphill from people you should always be aware of your surroundings and courteous of other riders.
Wow aren’t I lucky I didn’t hit anyone! But no I can assure you I skied this run perfectly in control, I’m using the GoPro chest mount though, which gives a more disorientating perspective than the helmet mount.

Vallee Blanche in Chamonix is technically off piste, so not really comparable, we are talking about the longest marked run. I would love to go try it though!
Well the run is 16km, if you cut out the part on the lift at the beginning and the standing, talking at the end, you get about 16 mins. But whatever, it’s not a world championship or anything, so just take it as whatever.

I'm going to do the run in the coming 2 weeks, also they have a challenge called "Chacun son Everest challenge" doing 8000 vertical meters which you can get a certificate for.

The distance that you skied between bergstation "glacier lift" and bottomstation "Chalvet" lift is exactly 8.8 kilometers, of which at least 3 kilometers and 300 meters veritcal drop are relatively flat roads. The total vertical drop from top lift to bottom lift is exactly 1650 meters, not "over 2000 meters" Over all this is not such a spectacular slope at all. There are much more exciting ski slopes in the European Alps. For example the Hochjoch Totale in Austria, which makes a vertical drop of 1731 meters, without boring flat roads. So to make clear, your average speed was FAR FAR FAR lower than 60 km/h. I saw this video and i thought Thats not even close to 2000 meters vertical raise, 16km distance and andaverage speed of 60kmh. Turned out i was right. Nice video nonetheless!
I think you just don’t really get how the perspective on a go pro looks different to real life. When other people are on the side of the screen they get stretched (wide angle lens) so they look closer than they are

The problem is that when you ski fast close to a begginer or even an intermediate, they are afraid and can loose control themselves, or get " paralyzed" and don't appreciate their run down. Sarenne isn't a really difficult slope, apart from the beginning and the length, so intermediates can really enjoy skiing there ; that why experts should take care.
But snow isn't always the same there ! Are you practising ski ? And it's not a real black run, except for the biggining and the length. People don't go there to show off saying that they have done a black, as there are others which are much more difficult in Alpe d'Huez, like "Le tunnel" or "Les balcons". They like the beautiful scenery all the way down and the charming torrent at the end, they appreciate the distance from the others equipments of the resort that make you feel like being in pure nature, they like having lunch on the rocks trying to spot "chamois"... A little poetry in this world of bullies...

You can do it carefully and warn the person you are passing. On those cat tracks you dont want to slowdown, or you end up skating. So its good to warn people as you pass just incase they turn unexpectedly, so you dont have to slow down to avoid them if that happens.

Correct, something like that. But you cant get off it once you are on it, so the whole thing has to be black until it intersects an easier slope
10% black means black, if 1% is black the whole run is marked as black, that's how it works.

To make your claim you need to metric information on the video. The top part was fairly bumpy... no way you were averaging 60kmh.

Note on ski etiquette: When you're overtaking, it's your responsibility to do it carefully...not go ''beep, beep''. Amateur, uncool move.

Some sections in a run may be blacks but I think they grade a run to the hardest slope before a turn off option so people don’t do a slope too hard
