I don’t care if it’s a fake Concorde it’s cute AF with those floppy canards. Plus the NK-32 engines were also mounted on the Tu-160 strategic bomber/cruise missile carrier.
They were not built independently. Tupolev was a Soviet designer, and all Soviet designers made their planes from drawings stolen / obtained through intelligence.
I Was lucky enough to go on the concorde G-BOAC at Manchester (Ringway) Airport and see the cockpit which was SO CRAMPED, it was just covered in dials and the seats were tiny, especially the flight engineers
I would like to mention that this airplane in the mod (CCCP-77115) was a TU-144D (Dal'nya - long range) model. This meant it didn't have afterburners, as it came with Kolesov RD36-51A engines which were so powerful that they didn't need afterburners to reach, or even maintain, supersonic speeds. However, the engines were very costly and under the communist soviet regime, ultimately not sustainable. A shame, since the 144D variant seemed to finally prove promising, but costs, poor conditions, lack of care by the soviet government and maintenance oversights due to unrealistic time constraints set by the aforementioned governing bodies. It's a huge pet peeve of mine when people who don't seem to know much about the aircraft at all shit on it just because this was the norm, since the aircraft could've been successful (and realistically should've, if not for soviet leadership complacency and overall lack of care for the project, seemingly making life as hard as possible for the Tupolev Design Bureau). NO, the aircraft didn't actually end up being successful at all, but even building a flawed SST is an achievement on its own. Not to mention the potential it had, as they finally seemed to be getting on top of things when the plug on the programme was pulled.
The difference is, you could probably get the TU144 ready to fly within 2 days, while I would take months with the Concorde. Good old Soviet engineering!
So if your curious why those instruments of any FSX ported planes to the MSFS 2020 don't work, it's because it's old, yes, if you purchased an FSX addon and convert it to the MSFS 2020, it'll be like this
The reason it needed the canards (little flaps in the front) were required for take off and landing is because of the bad and rushed wing design and the engines. The wing was not designed for subsonic flight.
@@Logan-The-Bird Apparently you haven't spent 10 seconds googling whether or not it was a copy. Despite your claims, it was not a copy. The designs were similar because they served a similar purpose and this is the best way to do it. The canards were there as an improvement lol.
@@patcraft508The fact that the D version can maintain high speed has never been proven in practice. Airplanes with these engines were used as laboratories and were never accelerated higher than 0.82m
@@drochunozhom bro where do you get your false information from? From a dumpster? The cccp-77114 (second to last ever built 144d) alone made multiple flights at speeds of more than mach 2. She even set multiple speed records up. Those were btw in 1983 so more than ten years before her conversion to the 144ll. It would be nice of you if you would check your informations before posting false facts online!
It’s a sad victim of Soviet propaganda and government image. It was rushed through development to one-up the west when, if they just waited, they’d have had an aircraft of similar quality to Concorde, one that maybe wouldn’t have suffered the crashes.
Soviet technology was bad not because “development was accelerated,” but because the Soviet Union did not have the necessary technical development for such projects.
i think sure the soviets seem like r copying, but the soviets were really good👍 at innovating western technology & inventing their/soviet’s own technology

this version is the Tu-144D ( D for Dal'nyaya - "long range"). It had no afterburner for extended range.
yep
It's because of the Kolesov RD-36-51 engines, these engines don't have afterburners, and it can fly at the speed of mach 1.6 (it's info was from NWYT)

The MSFS has built in replay mode if you enable developers mode. You can replay your landing from every angle.
Thanks for the tip!

Can we appreciate that swiss is comfortable enough to randomly curse in vids now lol
Swiss cursing is always a sight to see

Those engines are the later kolesnov RD-36-51 turbojets which didn’t have afterburners. This means the aircraft is a Tu-144D a later production model.

How dare u hate on tu144
Tupolev is kind of famous for putting the landingears into weird places. like the tu-154 folds its landing gear into the wing

“good old Soviet technology”, that’s why out of 16 Tu144 - 4 planes crashed. And out of 20 Concordes - only one.
I only knew about 2, the one at the air show and another that caught on fire? What were the other 2?
