Stephen Swift yup! I bought one with a engine fire back in 2005 after owning 5 other older models. Sat and sat till I got married in 2009 and had to sell it. Miss it
Didn't have any rear spoiler which is quite rare and the red interior is also rare. They really are fantastic cars stock. Mine is still stock and I loved driving it. But it's blown a coolant seal. I'm trying to weigh up keeping the stock twins or a modern single turbo. Hard decision.
Anyone who knows nothing or little about cars, would likely mistake a RX-7 for a C5 Corvette (also very pretty imo) because it looks very similar from certain angles.
Check out Ammo NYC channel. They just came across 300 rare cars gathering dust in a warehouse. Prototypes, one of two cars, one of four Bizzarinis, Ford GT40's, Ferrari F40's, Cobras etc. It's insane
Massive thumbs up on this video Tom!!! It was excellent getting to see your son & it clearly shows (because you're beaming with pride) how proud you are of Brian. Thumbs up from Ohio !!!!
The coolest thing was that Tom just let Brian tell the story of his own cars. I say that because after a couple of minutes, it just became another great episode where a guy is telling a story about his cars. I had forgotten it was his son that fast, which is a testament to the format. I also liked that Tom was just Dad enough and host enough that he was up to his normal asking for clarification and poking around the immediate area.
Paul Spruell is a very known and respected Alfa Romeo guy. They supply good amount of street/race Alfa parts that helped me built few engines that are still running.
Tom, you have every reason to be very proud of Brian. We really do look forward to his occasional appearance on Barn Finds with you. He seems very personable and quite knowledgeable as well. I really enjoyed your visit with Paul Spruell and hearing about his SCCA history. I used to crew for another SCCA National Champ who won D-Sport Racer 4 out of 5 years in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Excellent episode!
Amazing Father and Son Story! I have a 3 month old son and hope him and I have a connection that you and your son have. It also got reminded of the bond that I had with my Dad. God bless! Keep bring us episodes! This is by far the best UA-cam series.
This was an awesome segment not just for cars but for Tom and his boy!thank you for showing your sons passion. The apple did not fall far from the tree indeed!
11:10 thant's beacuse the hood for that model was redesigned short after many hoods (what you call step hood is called "scalino" in italian) were already build. So, instead of throwing them away, they decided to put those no matter what. And a legend was born. That's the story behind that little step! Greets from Italy!
It looks like you and your son have an amazing father-son relationship and cars _just happen_ to be one aspect of it. I would have given anything to have had a father like you when I was Brian's age.
Great to see Tom’s son in this one. Also bought a 3.2 Targa before old 911s got expensive. Put 50k miles on it - commuting, road tripping, tracking, canyon carving - and sold it for more than I paid for it (with 240k on the clock).
WOW PAUL SPRUEL INTERVIEW , WELL DONE. PAUL IS A NEIGHBOR OF MINE AND A BIT OF A HERO. I'VE KNOW "ABOUT " PAUL FROM AS FAR BACK AS HIS VOLVO HILL CLIMB DYS IN ASHEVILLE. GREAT GUY , BETTER RACER , MECHANIC GENIUS FOR ANYTHING ITALIAN. I NEED TO LOOK HIM UP AND MAYBE BUY LUNCH WHEN THIS CRAP IS OVER HERE IN THE ATL. THANKS FOR A GOOD INTERVIEW AND REMINDER OF HOW WE SHOULD NOT LET OLD ACQUAINTANCES BE FORGOT.
I love your sons choice in cars. He also did a good job in his reviews. There is a lot of hype on rotary engine blowing up but that often is not true when you have a good engine builder, tunning, good fuel, premix and a responsible owner. I auto crossed my rx7 Fd many of times without any fails. It is so true about the odometer. I just sent my gauges out to DNA speedometers in Tampa, Fl to have them fix them. I liked the review so much that I just subscribed.
Love this episode...I am an ALFA fan. Had a 69-70 Duetto that I bought new and I kept for over 40 years. I finally sold it to make garage space for my 2015 4C LE also bought new. Loved the old Duetto and if I had the garage space I would have both. The old car was durable and lot of fun to drive as it had a souped up engine, trick suspension, etc. The 4C has been dead reliable and an absolute blast to drive. Have had lot of other cars in my life (72 years old now) but only the ALFAs make me want to keep them for a long time.
I would never have imagined all this time I have been watching your channel that you would have a mazda rx7(FD3S) in the family. That is just awesome. FYI I too have a problem taking in cars from the 90's. Also a proud owner of a 94 RHD RX7.
Wow wish me and my dad could bond that way.... he does not know much about cars... yet he teaches me about it... sparking my inner car guy to this day.... i always wanted him to say "good job son" since im fixin his old 83 corolla liftback.... i wish you guys all the best and hopefully the car bug bites down further and passes down to the next gen.... :3
My supervisor, in the early '80's, bought a new, or almost new, Alfa-I'm not sure if it was the car, or the mechanics-(or lack of mechanics), but he would constantly call me to tell me he would be late for work, because the Alfa had some issues. He loved the car anyway, so we didn't give him a hard time about it. Thanks for the great video, as always!
Alfa Romeos were called Giulia and Giulietta as an hommage to Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” tragedy, but it was also a word pun because the Alfa owner at the time was called Nicola Romeo (Romeo and Juliet). There you go My grandfather was also an engineer from the late 1950s throughout the early 2000s, thanks to him i’ve always been deeply in love with Alfas
Back in my old days at Summit Point (I crewed for a SSC/ITB racing co-worker), the Mazda rotaries were out in force. The exhaust sound out of them (running pretty much open exhaust) reminded me very much of popcorn popping - hence my nicknaming one of them (a friends' racer) "Hamilton Beach" after a popular popper at the time. Some of the others in the bunch we had at the track called them "Quisinarts" or "La Machine" after popular food processors of those days. The cars were incredibly light and quick and usually put on quite the show on the track, what with their unique sounds and typical flames belching out the pipe on downshifts. I miss those days at the track. Seems like things were simpler and more fun back then. -Ed on the Ridge
That lowered van was done by Joe Martin and crew, Martin Bros. Customs (Johnson City, Texas), from the TV show Iron Resurrection, for their upholsterer Cato!!! Nice to see it again!!
What a nice young man, he’s a really smart guy, with a humble background in autos and now he probably has his dream job, my 15 year old not a car guy yet for oldies, he’s a Benz kid
Your family content added value to the entire Barn Find Hunter collection, an almost missing link feeling came with it too. For some yet unknown reason I've developed the need to build a barn......zzzzz .....around my 68 Firebird. It's always interesting stopping by to see what you've found. Peace.
Great to see a stock FD. I would replace the stock plastic overflow tank. Especially if u are tracking it! Love Love Love the stock stereo and interior.. Had a stock 94 R2 (except reliability mods) i sold in 2001, what a car!
It’s so good to see he shares your passion My son doesn’t even know how to open the bonnet let alone work on an engine or anything to do with fixing a car I just do all that by myself
Great that you are reaching out to the younger crowd, our hobby/sport is really getting older. I go to Hershey every year and the people are just getting older and older.
My Grandpa did Formula V. Told me when the car came into pits. They would stick a potato on the the exhaust just before the engine was shut off. Kept the engine from sucking in cold air and warping the valves.
Brian did a fantastic job explaining his own cars, look forward to him doing more videos overviews oneday.
Your son looks as humble as you..... Lots of blessings to you and your family....Stay safe and keep those videos coming.
Ok tom we have seen your sons cars . About time we saw your personal cars
I'll second that!
Yes Tom, would love to see your collection.
Yea Tom you piece of SH*T A** demon nut juggler!!! Aahhhhh!!

Those 90’s Mazda RX7’s are the real deal a very handsome car.
Stephen Swift yup! I bought one with a engine fire back in 2005 after owning 5 other older models. Sat and sat till I got married in 2009 and had to sell it. Miss it
re amemiya rx7 was one of the fastest street cars ever made check out the best motoring touge clips
zpe1200 I always liked the Fujita Engineering FEED cars better. I got to visit their shop in ‘03 was very cool.
That was a real treat! You have done a wonderful job! Being a good dad is much harder than any restoration I have ever done.
I love how he’s asking the younger generations take on what classics we relate to!
My wife’s cousin, an F-16 pilot, had an RX7. He drove it fast. I had a GLC. Good mileage, no go. Mazdas are well engineered and fun cars.
Del Holford liar
One of the most sacred JDM cars, the late 90’s Mazda RX-7.
And almost completely unmolested too, crazy.

@@gav240z Bathurst twin turbo is a direct bolt on. Turbo`s are Hitachi like the original ones. Easy decision.
gav240z mordern single for sure

This may be my favorite episode of Barn Find Hunter ever.

Wow. What a cool episode. It's great to meet your son. Thank you for introducing us to him.
Thanks so much for introducing us to your son Tom. What a lucky guy, and that likely applies to both of you!
Proud papa and rightfully so , it was great to meet your son . Stay safe out there ❗️🇺🇸

Brian needs a UA-cam channel. And I must add, great outro, really suits RX-7. Kudos to director.
Wow, Tom, that is so sweet! The body language tells it all. A great dad and a great son!
Great episode Tom, awesome Alfa's, a 4 time champ and a father and son story. Thanks much and do not hesitate to get Brian involved more often.
Nice meeting your son Brian, Tom! Top lad

Old Alfa Romeos are beautiful. Great video
For me nothing beats that father and son stuff.
Those RX7's were great autocross cars when they were new, glad to see one still stock and being driven in competition!
The rx7 had me drooling with googly eyes. What a beautiful car.
11:10 thant's beacuse the hood for that model was redesigned short after many hoods (what you call step hood is called "scalino" in italian) were already build. Corona virus pandemic, staying at home, drinking coffee and watching your videos. Thank you.
This is my absolute favorite episode. Hands down. I actually dropped tears of joy
That generation of RX7 is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful car designs of all time.
Julio ,Jennifer, and the rest of the J.P.'s y'all are what family is supposed to be...One Love!
It looks like you and your son have an amazing father-son relationship and cars _just happen_ to be one aspect of it. I would have given anything to have had a father like you when I was Brian's age.

Heyyyy.. This episode is iconic. Hello there Brian!
Hands down my favorite episode. Would love to see more father and son episodes, barn finding together!!!
How cool to see your son in this episode... and your pride is evident!
One of the best episodes! That three car garage of Brian is as perfect as it gets.
I drove a Volkswagen in college and this kid drove a Porsche. He is way ahead. Look forward to seeing more of Brian.
Great work with the Alfas, and a very good presentation of your son. It´s always cool see father and son, congratulations!!
WoW!! What a great Alfa collection!! So very cool, thanks for sharing.

Congratulations for share the same passion, it shows you have a lovely Family!
My first new car (age 25) was a 1985 Alfa Graduate purchased from Paul. Drove it as a daily for over a decade. What a great car!

I really LOVED this episode. So nice to see your father son relationship. And the cars were cool too
Yeah, it'd be nice if every father-son had a common passion and actually liked each other.
I had a 1300 Normal & a 1300 Veloce 1960 & 1963. Lovely little cars wonderful to see a show on ALFA's
What a great episode overall. Especially the very end with the 90s montage of the Brians cars.
What a treat! First the lovely alfas then a nice collection of your son.
I really enjoy watching the Barn Find hunter and the GMC/Chevy truck being fixed. :)
Thanks for sharing Tom, stay safe and God bless!
God caused the coronavirus. He created it to rid earth from people gullible enough to believe in him.

Loved the 90’s ending 😅

Nice episode, I think you were smiling just a little bit more in this one, respect to the Cotter family .
I know it’s a lot to ask, but can we get daily episodes during our quarantine?
That lowered van was done by Joe Martin and crew, Martin Bros. Customs (Johnson City, Texas), from the TV show Iron Resurrection, for their upholsterer Cato!!! Nice to see it again!!
Bet you're a proud papa. The legacy lives on.
That was awesome, and it makes sense, as a 80's child I relate more to your son's cars and that's more of what I enjoy seeing
Do more videos together. You both are compelling to listen to. Enjoyed that!
What a nice young man, he’s a really smart guy, with a humble background in autos and now he probably has his dream job, my 15 year old not a car guy yet for oldies, he’s a Benz kid
One of the coolest episodes 👌
Glad to see the youths have joined the team.
Too cool great to see the apple didn't fall to far from the tree happy hunting .
What a nice family !!!
Awesome cars and opportunities. Like father like son. It is good to see your son is into cars as well.
That RX-7 is one of the best looking cars of all time

The Duetto "boat tail" in Italy is called "osso di seppia" (cuttlefish bone) ;)
Such a nice segment with the son. Would be happy to see more of this duo :)
Great to see a stock FD. I would replace the stock plastic overflow tank. Especially if u are tracking it! Love Love Love the stock stereo and interior.. Had a stock 94 R2 (except reliability mods) i sold in 2001, what a car!
Wonderful video, Good to meet your son. That apple did not fall far from the tree. Congrats for sure.
Great video. Can't wait for the next one! 👍
Excellent subjects especially good with your son, you sentimental old chap, clearly have great relationship and share of vintage cars
So cool seeing you with your son. You're a lucky guy!

My Grandpa did Formula V. Told me when the car came into pits. They would stick a potato on the the exhaust just before the engine was shut off. Kept the engine from sucking in cold air and warping the valves.
I'm 53 and I like the RX-7. 👍
here is your old friend from ITALY chiming in alfa romeo over here no big deal standard upper level daily drivers even the older ones
I was born in the late 80s I relate more to 60 and 70s cars than any other era.
Yes guys, love the 80s outro!
2 Honda Sprees in the Back. I used to have one of those. They were Awesome!!
That is a beautiful rx7. Looks better than most of the modified ones imo.
THOSE ARE COOL CARS BUT YOU HAVE THE COOLEST CAR THERE. THAT OLD FORD WAGON IS BEAUTIFUL.
Another fantastic video and a complete surprise of different cars and the most interesting stories from very interesting people .
Sonny did well, driving a 85 Targa in College, in my day, you were the bomb!!
bill nalder
You would do well to drive one of those to the stock market
