The animators modeled his movements after cats, which explains a lot.
A rare thing where the entire trilogy is good. Watch them plz.
Don't skip the sequels Emma, they're just as good, if not better.

You will find that each film progresses in time. the characters do as well. The animation gets BETTER w/ each film. Best trilogy evr. Yes, John Powell's scores keep up as well. ;)
Dragons are not afraid of snakes, but of eels. And the explanation why dragons don't like eels so much is given in the series, unfortunately you won't see this explanation in the sequels. Also in the series there are going to be so many types of dragons that we don't even know in the movies, but some of them we already see in the book that Hiccup read in the first part of the movie when he tries to find some information about night furious
How to train your dragon is a great movie. My grandchildren love it! Even my daughter loved it. She sat there choking back tears. It is a great Saturday afternoon movie to share with friends.

This is one of the best animated movies that I really love. If you really pay attention to the music, all of the scenes is depicted in the music introduction in the first 10 to 15 minutes of the movies. And the music throughout the whole movies are really great. Especially when Hiccup's theme merge with Toothless's theme. What a masterpiece, both the animated film and the music that accompany the movie. This is really a great movie. Don't miss the sequels and the tv series also

There are 8 seasons of a TV series + a few specials set between the 1st & 2nd movie that develops all the characters and each type of dragon (well, most of them). They might be worth a look if you decide to do that type of content. Also, at least 1 spinoff series (I hear that's not very good). and a live action movie in development.

This is definitely one of Dreamworks' stronger films. It is topped only by "The Prince of Egypt," which is deservingly regarded as Dreamworks' best work.
If you want some good non-animated musical movies, I highly recommend "The Blues Brothers" (1980) and "Whiplash" (2014). :)
